Subwoofer Wiring Dilema

    Subwoofer Wiring Dilema

I have 14/2 in-wall speaker wire for my sub.  The problem is, I have 5 way binding posts for connections at both locations (behind receiver and behind sub).  I have a single subwoofer RCA out on the receiver.

I understand the best solution would be to use one of those costly subwoofer monster cables direct, but that isn't an option.

How do I connect this up?  Does your standard subwoofer cable with an RCA plug on it actually have 2 wires in it?  If so, do I just cut a 12" subwoofer cable with RCA ends in half, try to separate the 2 wire components, and then wire one to the + post and one to the - post on each wall plate?

I am new to all of this, so sorry if this is a dumb question.  Kind of wish I would have wired the walls with a subwoofer cable before it was drywallled off and closed up...
