    Some Feedback on Set Up...

Just got my new Intimus 5.1 system last week and have to say that so far I have been very impressed--build quality, customer service, and initial sound tests (don't have the rears hooked up yet) have been great.

I do however have a little feedback on a couple of items that you might want to think about in your instructions and product design

First point is regarding the I29 speaker stands, I opted to mount my 522D fronts directly to the stands with the provided hardware. The instructions state that you should spin the speaker clockwise until the rubber feet make solid contact with the stand, when I tried this however the rubber feet on the bottom of the speakers kept impeding my ability to spin the speaker at all. I tried this several different times with the same results--the more I tried to spin the more the feet got caught on the edge of top plate...finally ripping one of the feet off the speaker. I ended up pulling the feet off the speaker and gently screwing the speaker down until it was snug which was the only way I could see this working. Can't believe I am the first one to have this problem, but a search of this forum showed no mention...unless I did something wrong, you might want to revise your instructions to suggest removal of the feet to ease in mounting to the stands...

Second point is the S-10 subwoofer, or more specifically the screw in feet that you are supposed to mount to the bottom...the feet screw in fine, but they are obviously intended for carpet--not my beautiful hardwood floors. My problem is with the little caps provided to accomodate HW floor owners like myself...there is no way to fasten them to the screw in feet! The only way to get them properly positioned under the feet is to somehow get all four lined up up exactly underneath the carpet spikes and set it in --which is not an easy exercise with a fragile 50 pound item. Then if you ever have to lift the thing, they easily pop out meaning you have to go through this painful exercise all over again.

Numerous attempts to get these suckers on yeilded little progress. and I finally pulled out all the spikes and just set the unit directly on the floor...

Please re-think your strategy on these! A seperate set of four screw in feet with flat tops would be MUCH better solution.

Just a couple of minor points that I offer as feedback...otherwise I have been very satisfied.
