+1 on cleaning up your wires.

Speaking from experience i had a similar issue.  Make sure you check the speaker terminals to.  My Denon would go freeze and go into standy mode unexplainably.  I took her out and found nothing.  However, i noticed on my front Left speaker a strand of wire from the positive terminal touching the ground terminal.  Cleaned that up and was a happy camper.Good luck.
