    Symmetry and Subwoofer placement

    Looking for some opinions here.

In my previous setup, I had my sub located between the left channel and the TV stand, nicely spread out.  With my current place, I don't have the luxury of that because of the TV stand I'm using and the wall size.

Here's a pic from when I first set everything up:

I picked up two Rythmik F15's, and the best place to place them from a looks perspective is behind the couch on either side of the sofa table.  Having subs behind the listening position is apparently a no-no, and reasonably so.

So here's my question.  Do I:

    - Leave them where they are and dial them in better?
    - Leave one where it is and stack the other?
    - Say "eff it" to symmetry and scoot the entertainment center over to one side, re-center the center channel, making enough room for a sub between that and the L channel and do "near field, far field" with my two subs?
    - Do the same as option 3 but stack them in the front?  I haven't measured yet, but I think this would begin to block the screen, so this may not even be an option.
    - Something else?

I'm pretty big on symmetry, so it makes me feel tingly to think of not having the gear furniture centered, but I would strongly consider it if I'm just OCD and the benefits far outweigh the positives.  And I think I would prefer to do option three rather than stacking them because of the potential eye-sore I'd be introducing to the look of the room.

Is having sub placement behind the listening position truly awful?

Anyway...looking for opinions.  Please chime in!  Thanks!   :)
