I am curious if there is any recommendation as to wether it is preferrable to attenuate the levels or is it better to bump up the levels to achieve uniform speaker SPL response. Or it doesnt matter ?
For instance i have 532 LRs in the front and 422LR at the side/back. The 532s are clearly louder at the same volume setting than the 422s. I was wondering if i should reduce the front/center levels or increase the levels on the 422 to obtain same SPL readings. I have heard that for EQ-ing, it is always preferrable to attenuate to smoothen out frequence reponse.
