    Trying out the System D

    Hello all,

I got the 12 year itch a few weeks ago to replace my HT System and after many hours of surfing the net and visiting BB/Magnolia, Tweeters and a few local A/V stores, decided to go with the System D speakers from Aperion.  They arrived on 12/8 and I hooked them up to a new Denon AVR 2807 and bought a Samsung HLS5688 TV and an Onkyo DV-SP404 dvd player to use until the HD-DVD wars are over.

Right from the start, I had a good feeling when pulling the speakers from the boxes and noticed the something extra that these things represent.  The Piano black really looked good when taking the Velvet bags off and the heft spoke "Like a Rock".

At first, I went thru the learning curve with the Denon setup and Caleb helped with the tweaking.  They sound clean, real and powerful.  After listening now for 2 weeks though, I feel there is something missing in the middle.  I bought the powered towers thinking they would be perfect for my room constraints, but have decided to try the 533T/S-10 combo.  The extra 5.25" speakers should fill in the missing presence and give more musicallity to the front.  Plus, I have become reinterested in listening to music again with this new setup.

My room is 14'10"W X 14'4"D and I think is too small for the 633T's, so I hope the 533T/S10 combo fits the bill.  They are new and not many reviews out yet, but from the little there is to read (Aperion thinks they will become their best sellers), I think they will.

I just watched part of an action move a while ago and these babies rocked.   Almost felt like when I watched "Earthquake" in the theatre with the new surround sound back then.

I have a couple of pictures here:
