Long time lurker, first time poster...
My wife and I are trying to create a home theater setup that is compatible with our music listening. Our living room that is 19 ft wide, 11 ft tall, 15 ft deep.
It has two major problems:
1. The layout of the room is that when watching TV, the entire left side of the room is an open space leading into our dining area.
2. The seating is situated such that the couch is against the wall, and I don't think we would benefit much from rear satellite speakers. Moving the furniture isn't really a good option.
We do want great sound and we do want to solve the problem we have right now where dialog is hard to hear (we only have L/R bookshelf speakers), while not compromising on listening to music or great DVD sound.
I was thinking that a 422-C would be perfect for a center channel (it would fit in our credenza), and going with either a pair of 533-PTs, or more 422s with a sub.
Any advice?
