My 5.1 setup is now complete, with the arrival of the backordered 4T's today! I now have those babies in the front, a 5C in the middle, 5B's in the back, and a 10D to pump up the bass! All in gloss black to give some contrast to the big cherry entertainment center.
some observations -
the 10D really can shake the house! that aquarium scene in Nemo rattles the pictures on the wall. I didn't realize what I was missing in my movies until I hooked this thing up. definitely recommend this one!
5C - with the system calibrated, this center allows everything from a spoken whisper to shouted dialogue to be heard, crisp and perfect. seems to have a fantastic range, and is a great foundation for the home theater system.
5B's - I got these speakers first to replace some back bookshelves that wouldn't work with my new receiver. Just to compare them to my previous speakers, I hooked these up as fronts and listened to some music. For bookshelves, these little guys sound really nice. A little lacking in the bass, but that's what the sub is for!
4T's - Man, are these things awesome! Even with the volume turned way down low (to avoid waking the wife) they sound so pure. I haven't gotten a chance to turn up the volume yet (that'll be tomorrow :) but I can't wait. Already I know that they are going to sound fantastic. So rich and full sounding even without cranking the volume. I was torn between these and the 5T's, but I was trying to save a little money, especially given the great reviews the 4T's have received. I don't regret getting these one bit! Maybe 9 months down the road I'll upgrade, but who knows. So far, I am very happy with these!
After the speakers have broken in for a while, I'll post with more impressions.
