I find myself recommending this system often (with slight variances here and there):
4T's for front L/R's - http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/NEW-Intimus-4T-Tower-Speaker,164,19,404.aspx
5C center channel - http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/Intimus-5C-Center-Channel-Speaker,109,19,253.aspx
4B's for surrounds - http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/Intimus-4B-Satellite-Speaker,113,19,261.aspx
8D subwoofer - http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/Bravus-8D-Dual-8-Powered-Subwoofer,104,19,241.aspx
This system will bring you to $1759. It's a nice price point, and a great performer overall. The 4T's are KILLING it these days. It's unreal...
Like listening to multi channel music a lot? Bump up those surrounds to the 5B's ($1949). Like lots of DEEP bass in a lareger room? Upgrade the subwoofer to the 10D ($2059). As you can see there are some subtle changes you could make based on your listening preferences.
And yes, I realize I basically just wrote up exactly what Dan just said...Just though a second opinion might count for something
