I like it. It is super thin. Just wide enough in the back for inputs. I don't know if the price increase is justifiable, but if money wasn't an issue, I would buy one immediately. My friend just saw it the other day and is in love. His income is quite a bit higher than mine, and he is having a hard time not upgrading to the LED market.
Re: Sony vs. Samsung

I find the decision between the two to be personal preference. Sonys tends to cost slightly more in my opinion, but both brands are great. I've had one of each, I'm presently on my Samsung, and love(d) both. Personally, I like the Samsung cabinets, the pictures tend to look nearly identical between the two to me which is why I went with my preference of cabinet/lower price this time
Re: Sony vs. Samsung

Speaking of Samsung TVs...really anxious to see one of these in person:

http://www.samsung.com/us/consumer/detail/detail.do?group=televisions&type=televisions&subtype=ledtv&model_cd=UN55B6000VFXZA

Re: Sony vs. Samsung

Well said PJ. I have seen the Samsung in person but not the Sony. Sammy is a great looking TV but it does have a shiny screen. It will make black pop out more but at the cost of reflections. Unless the lighting is controlled in your room then its no biggie.

Not sure I personally like the over all design/layout of the Sony. But the red on the Samsung isn't for everyone either. For such similar spec's I'd trust your eyes. Also consider the options and picture adjustments of each.

Re: Sony vs. Samsung

TVs with similar specs will almost always ultimately fall into the opinion of the beholder. Many will like specific brands for multiple reasons. As you noted, you already have a couple that apply to you.

I have a Sony XBR that I really like, though admittedly, I didn't do a whole lot of research in advance. I just bought a new Sony to replace an old Sony. Luckily, I'm still happy with my choice, even after 18 months.

Sony and Samsung both make a great TV. I doubt either would be a bad choice.

Re: Sony vs. Samsung

I personally am leaning towards the sony for two reasons. I have had a Sony TV for as long as I can remember, and I know four other people who have the previous Bravia LCD's, and have liked how they looked.

Maybe I just answered my own question.

Re: Sony vs. Samsung

Which one looks better to you?
Sony vs. Samsung

So I am shopping for a new TV, and see that these two have very similar specs. Help me choose, and many thanks.

Sony KDL-52V5100

Samsung LN52A650
