    omnimount 20.0 installation

I'm mounting a pair of the 532 bookshelf speakers to my wall using these mounts.  I've been unable to keep the speaker positioned so the bottom of the speaker is parralel to the floor.  The speaker always ends up in a position that is pointed too far downward.

Can someone tell me how you were able to use this mount to get your speakers in the right position?

Funny you should write this b/c i just put up my 532's using the Omnimounts last night.  i was not trying to have them be parralel to the floor but if you are saying that they are slipping it is b/c you really have to crank on them to tighten them up.  If you are saing that you cannot get it to the parralel position, you may want to make sure that you did not put the wall mount part upside-down.  You want to have the allen bolt on the bottom.

Thanks for the reply.  I have the wall mount piece oriented correctly and actually broke the washer on the allen bolt when tightening the clamp.

I'm happy to hear these worked for you.  I was really annoyed last night when I discovered the speakers had slipped from where I had positioned them.  I'll try again and post a reply with my results.

There is a trick. Get them into preferred position. tighten them up so they stay put. Wait 5-10 minutes. Tighten again. If you don't tighten them a second time, they'll eventually droop.

If your speakers need to be positioned downward or upward, these mounts might work for you, but they will slip from their position a little bit once you raise the volume.  If you want your speakers positioned as if they were sitting on a bookshelf, these mounts will not work for you.   These mounts will not hold the 532s in a position that is parallel to your floor.  As much as I wanted to return these expensive accessories of mediocre quality, I easily made some adjustable supports that I fit between the wall and the bottom of the speaker to get the exact position I wanted.  It looks nice too.

My 532's are cheerfully and solidly supported by omnis, but mine are aimed towards my listening position. I did really have at 'em with the allen key and they've stayed where they were aimed. There's some pix in the HT setup forum.
