emotiva reciever vs 5t hybrid system?

I am hoping to get a new home theater system and am curious would it be better to get the 5t hybrid powered by a onkyo mid level reciever or the 4t hybrid with a emotiva 5 chanel amp along with there processer? where to put my money and what benefits would one have over the other or is it just a really easy decision for an audiophile which i dont have the trained ear but do want the best sound i can get for my money? any help is greatly appreciated!

What is your timetable?  The Emotiva pre/pro isn't even out yet, and it will likely be 6mos to a year before anyone not on the waiting list can get their hands on one.

The real questions you have to answer are:

    -How big is your room?

-What is the seated distance between you and the TV?

-What is your percentage of listening to HT? Music? Games? Other?

It probably will be 6 mths to a year till my purchase. to answer the questions my room is 13x18 with a big opening on one side to the dining room.  seated distance to the tv is 13ft and it would be 80% movies 20% music. Thank you for your opionon and help

Either one of those options is going to be a good one.  Onkyos have pretty good amp sections, and with the size of room you have, either Aperion option would work pretty well.

Only your ears will be able to decide.

That said, why not get the Emotiva products and buy what you can out of the 5T system and piece together your speakers over time?

I would go with the 5T Hybrid and Onkyo 806.  This seems like a winner for many people!.  I have an Onlyo 805 and the 6Bs and it sounds fantastic.  The 5T system will be awesome!.  IMO with the Emotiva and the 4T system - the speakers will limit your sound somewhat.  just my opinion.
