Which mid-range receiver should I buy?

Hi I will problably be buying the Intimus 5B-DB Fusion HD or something similar soon and I need to buy a new receiver to go with it. Any suggestions? Cnet has the Pioneer vsx-1019ah-k as the top mid-range receiver but it has a bad user manual and some complains that it overheats easily. Anyone having that problem or have other mid range receivers to recommend?

     thanks in advance,

     Jason

Re: Which mid-range receiver should I buy?

I think you get quite a bit more bang for your buck from Onkyo, specifically something like the 607 or 706.  Another brand that is quite popular with our customers is Denon and the equivalents from them would be the 1910 or 2310.  If you do go with Denon you might look into the 1909 or 2309 as you may be able to get good deals on them since the newer models just launched.

The 1019 is a good unit, but it's not until you get to the Elite series from Pioneer that you get units that are on par with the ones from Onkyo or Denon in my opinion.

Hope that helps, but please let us know if you have other questions, thanks!

Dan, Jason responded to a similar question on another thread.  Here's his response: http://www.aperionaudio.com/community/forums/post/11403.aspx
