pairing a small center channel with larger floor speakers

I need some advice on a center channel speaker. I have a mirage mc-3 center and a pair of m590-i floor speakers.

Right now I have the center speaker behind a 52in lcd tv pointed upward because there simply wasn't a better place for it. The downside is that it's not pointed directly at the listener and there's no room for it in the tv cabinet and I'm pretty sure putting the tv on top of it is bad news.

Even though it is smaller than my current speaker, the intimus 4c would fit in my cabinet properly. Would there be much of an issue as far as improper balance? I'm assuming it has to be better than a larger center speaker that's indirectly aimed at the listener and muffled by a large television.

    Thanks,

Hello and welcome to the forum,

Yes having a smaller unobstructed center channel instead of a larger speaker behind the TV will indeed be better.

As for how our speaker is going to mate with your Mirages, that's hard to say as I'm not familiar with them and your room qualities will end up playing a part in how the sound together as well.

Of course since we give you the 30 day trial you can always give it a shot and if it doesn't work out you can send it back, or alternatively if you really like it you could get a pair of front and left rights from us down the road too.

    Hope that helps, thanks!
