Alternative Spikes for 4T?

    Alternative Spikes for 4T?

Does anyone know of any long third-party spikes which fit a 4T base?

I got my system on Saturday, and am very happy, except for the provided spikes which make no difference on my thick wool carpet, and the towers are still very wobbly. I contacted Aperion, and Jason kindly offered to send me some slightly (1/8") longer ones, but I didn't think that was longer enough to improve the situation so I declined.

The spikes on the last set of floorstanders I had (Kef Q50) were much longer and more lethal, and would have absolutely made it through my carpet, although in this house there's a concrete slab floor underneath, so perhaps that isn't such a good idea after all.

Jason tells me the threaded inserts are M7/20 (which I think is a rare size in this country, making the job even harder).

    Any suggestions welcomed! Thank you!

Hello again Simon and welcome to the forum,

I believe an M8/20 spike may also fit if that's easier to find as the spike actually measured a little over 7 mm.

    Hope that helps!

Check with a company here: www.oregondv.com. I'm looking for the same solution. I haven't purchased yet but, like you, I have thick carpet. This company has spikes up to 2.5 inches long.
