    Need Help Making Decision.

Hi this is my first post and seriously giving some thought on making a purchase but dont know where to start.  Mainly looking for front three and sub, maybe some surrounds down the road that would be an in ceiling type. Listening would mostly be for movies and games maybe 30% music.  My room configuration is kinda open 12ft X 24Ft that els off to a kitchen. I was looking 5t and 5c but dont know if this would be to over powering, seating would be about 10ft from tv.  Any suggestions?

At 10ft from the TV, can we assume that you're putting everything on the long wall (24ft wall)?  From a theater standpoint, it would be better to change the arrangement so that it's on the short wall.  If you can, the 5T/5C option is a great one.

If not, 5T's would still work well for 10 ft away, though you could get away with 4T's at that distance and not be hurt by it.  Most would agree that the 5T is a considerable step up in speaker, so if you can afford it, I'd definitely do that, personally.

Keep in mind: 30 day in-home trial is at your disposal, meaning you can choose what you think is best and then send it back if you change your mind.  Also, the year trade-up policy ensures a good deal when you inevitably need to upgrade.  Smile

    Good luck!

    Re: Need Help Making Decision.

Hello and welcome to the forum,

The 5Ts and 5C sound great at a distance of 10 feet, I listen to them all the time at a similar distance (actually more like 8 feet) in our demo rooms.  Also with 30% of your usage as music, I think they will be a better choice in your sized room than the 4Ts.

    Hope that helps!

At 10 feet in your size room I'd go with something like the 707 from Onkyo or the 2310 from Denon.  If that's not in your budget and you don't plan on pushing the system to high volumes you could go with the 607 or 1910.
