    Any Star Trek reviews?

Just wondering if anyone seen Star Trek and what did they think of it?  I have found even bad movies if they have awesome surround sound in them makes the movie better. I love hearing all the special effects come through the Aperions.

    Aperion 5T's, 5C, 10D, 4B satellite's
    Onkyo TX-SR607
    Panasonic Plasma 58"

I found it to be really entertaining.  It was a little light on the intellectual side of things, but still a lot of fun.  I'm sure it will give your system a nice workout, so I bet you'll enjoy it.

Well as cinema, I thought it was a good film, worth the two hours I spent watching it.  Good script, acting, and pacing.  I am not a huge Trekkie so I didn't bring any baggage with me, cause from what I understand (slight spoiler) the actions of a certain character in this film change the previous films.  So that may affect how you look at the plot.

Technically I believe you will enjoy the visuals and the sounds from this film.  Has a good range of sound, but I did feel that Abrams overdid the flare effect in the movie.

Bought it (but haven't watched it yet) on Blu.  Loved it in the theater.  Saw it twice there, and once on a plane.  GREAT movie.

I, too, am not even remotely a Trekkie, and I loved it.  More importantly,  the friends I went to see it with the first time WERE Trekkies, and THEY loved it.  According to them, JJ Abrams does a great job both paying homage to the old series, and creating an entirely new tangent/timeline for the reboot.  And these are guys who noticed sound effects from the original series that were used in the movie as tribute.

It moves a little fast, but it's understandable because of all of the history, "new history" and character development they have to cram into a couple of hours.  But that, to me, was only a minor gripe.

This and District 9 were easily the two best movies I've seen all year.

District 9 was incredible, it definitely stuck with me for quite a while after I saw it, in the same way that Children of Men did.  The CGI was outstanding and I really liked the development of the Wikis character throughout the movie.  Star Trek was good, but District 9 was amazing.

    Re: Any Star Trek reviews?

I watched it this past weekend.  I really liked it, and the sound was great.  My little 4Ts and 8D did a splendid job.  I usually watch most of the credits to check on actors names, filming location and sometimes who sang what song.  Those were not issues in this movie but I watched all the credits.  My wife got up after a bit and soon said why are you still watch?  I said because it sound sooooo good!

I did not know Iowa had such canyons however!

    Cheers
