    Another Bravus Sub Question....

I have read all of the posts about raising the signal to the sub and lowering the signal to all other spearkers etc. I don't think that I'm having the same problem as other people.  I have been trying to run the audyssey automation with my system (onkyo 607).  It toggles through all of the speakers and all of them respond....except the sub.  If I switch off of that screen and go back to level calibration and toggle through, the sub does come one.  It takes a while to run the calibration and every time that the sub doesn't respond I have to start again.  Any ideas?

Do you have the sub on "Auto"? If so, switch it to "On" for the calibration.

Hmmm, so does the sub perform normally otherwise and you are only having the problem when attempting to run Audyssey?

    Re: Another Bravus Sub Question....

The sub seems to randomly come on and off.  I have tried turning it to "on", "auto" etc.  That doesn't seem to make a difference.  Sometimes it works with audyssey, sometimes it doesn't.  I ran the calibration 10 times, didn't change any settings, the 11 time it worked.  Sometimes it comes on when I go to level calibration, sometimes it doesn't.  Sometimes a movie will sound empty and I'll check the sub and nothing is coming out.  Later it works as if nothing is wrong.  I leave it on the "on" setting, so it shouldn't be a signal problem with the auto setting.  Nothing seems to make it work or not.  I could be going through the level setting and it doesn't work, then I could go back to TV, DVD, turn it on, turn it off, randomly until it comes back to life.  It's a mystery.

    Re: Another Bravus Sub Question....

Hmmm, are you using a y-adapter or just a single connection?

If it's just a single connection, I'd try troubling shooting the LFE RCA input.  A couple of times I have seen loose inputs that can cause an intermittent problem like you are describing.  I'd try either the left or right inputs (doesn't matter which one) to see if that takes care of the issue.

Also a y-adapter is not a bad idea if you aren't using one already as it increases the signal strength to the sub.

I think I'll try the Y adapter.  That is still coming from the LFE out on the receiver, right?  Thanks

That's correct, the y adapter attaches to the end of the subcable at the subwoofer end and allows you to use the left and right inputs on the back of the sub.
