Any metalheads here want to talk?

I'm an old school metalhead and love my new speakers for such music.

    Currently I'm getting into....

    Mastodon 'Leviathan'

    Fear Factory 'Archetype'

Agent Steel 'Order of the Illuminati'

Type O Negative 'World Coming Down'

I realize some of these are a few years old, but they still rule...

Hey Matt. I can't stand Metal, I'm more of a jazz guy. Although I do like Poison and Ratt. (Kidding). But John W is a big fan. He's known here for his love of Heavy Metal. Also Win, our CEO is a big fan of AC/DC. He uses Back in Black as reference material. Seriously.

If your a Jazz guy, check out Procupine Tree the album 'Deadwing'.  It may even make you like metal.

This album features an awesome drummer, Gavin Harrison.  He's a fine drummer on par with some of the Jazz greats.

Hey Matt.I,m really into Black Sabbath and Judas Priest. Although my favorite is Iron Maiden, especially the first two albums with Paul Dyanno on vocals and Clive Burr on drums.

Also, if you like TypeO Negative, check out Carnivore. It is Peter Steeles(the leadsinger of TypeO negative)first band. Tell me what you think.

Are you kidding, Carnivore Retaliation is my favorite album of all time!

Just picked up their new DVD called 'Symphony For the Devil' some hillarious stuff on there like you would expect, and the live show rocks too.  It's in Germany and they do the song 'Kill all the White People' and the intro to the song is the first few measures of 'Jesus Hitler', now that's some good humour!

I have an 'early' copy of the new Katatonia CD that I'm currently bingeing on, it's incredible.

hey. jsut got my new 633-T's about a week ago. i love them but i've put about 30 hours in to them already. mostly metal. Anthrax has never sounded so good. Medusa is an amazing song on anything but its been taken to another level. have u tried listening to Slayer? its intense. also pantera is another great one.

RE: Any metalheads here want to talk?

Well yes, I've listened to Slayer and Anthrax and Panetra...but I have to say they are pretty 'old'.  I'm old school, but personally, those bands are kind of tired for me.

Try Katatonia, Fear Factory, Mastodon, Agalloch etc for some more modern metal.

I am a bit of old school but really appreciate the newer European style Goth/Symphonic type metal in a big way these days. Therion, Nightwish, Within Temptation, Theatre of Tragedy, Epica, those types. Some of the really darker stuff too. I took the 80's off, never got into those groups. I also enjoy most everything else if the talent is there. Carl

RE: Any metalheads here want to talk?

Hi all. One of our Customer Service gurus, Mike, showed me this string and thought I might contribute. I am the network administrator with Aperion and have a reputation for listening to even heavier stuff than John does. Some of my favorites: Slayer, especially Reign in Blood and South of Heaven, Iron Maiden, their first two albums (Iron Maiden and Killers), Sepultura, especially Beneath the Remains, Soulfly (Max Cavalera's band after Sepultura), Celtic Frost, Morbid Tales/Emperor's Return, Helmet, Prong, and Tool just to name a few. Now you know why the guys make me listen with headphones on!

You guys really need to check out the new Swallow the Sun CD called 'Hope'.  Probably the best death/dark metal album of 2007!

METALLICA!!!!!!! Any of the old stuff; Master Of Puppets; And Justice for All, RTL....

I have not purchased my new speakers yet; but one thing VERY important to me is deep, tight bass... I love my Outlaw Sub; I want towers/and or book shelves that provide deep bass... Any suggestions w/in the Aperion line???

    Thank you!

Trying to restart an older thread, but I agree with 64met - any old Metallica.  I miss Fleming Rasmussen's production.  Much edgier and rough.  When Metallica started using Bob Rock to produce, they went a few notches down in my book.

Re: RE: Any metalheads here want to talk?

I like any and all Metallica.  I think their latest album, Death Magnetic, provides a nice blend of old school complex layers, change-ups, and in your face energy.  I know the album has been criticized for having an overly compressed dynamic range, but it still rocks to me.

Re: RE: Any metalheads here want to talk?

Metal does have a new edge with Aperions. Is anyone else losing sleep due to staying up late re-living old cd's on these speakers? Shoot to Thrill!

Tool sounds like they were written and produced to be played on 6T's, C, and B's. I have bought their whole discography.

I also like Metallica- i was a few years behind the curve when they first came out. A little to much speed back in the day for my taste. I will check out their new one Death Magnetic after the reading the glowing review above.

New stuff I have bought since Aperion- Stained, Shinedown, Velvet Revolver and of course Tool.

I just picked up Shadows Fall 'Retribution'. Brand new stuff Released on 9/15/09. Any body heard of them? They have a couple discs. Thinking about checking out their show in Seattle in November.

By The Way, I can also appreciate the classical/jazz/ht soundtrack capabilities of an Aperion system...I just won't post about it hear.
