    Just got my 632-LRs

They arrived Monday, actually, and I've been breaking them in over the last couple of days. I got the Piano black finish because of clashing issues with the cherry. The first thing I noticed, once they were mounted on their stands, is... "These suckers are BIG." They just completely dominate my small apartment Good thing I will be moving into a house soon! Anyway, I've been listening to some Cheskey CD's and am fairly impressed. I've listened to a lot of speakers in the past month and I have to say, these rank up there with the more expensive bookshelves I've heard (Focal, Linn). Imaging is well defined. The Soundstage is there. I don't think I've listened to enough stuff yet If someone came into my home and told me flat-out, "These are the speaker you will get. No more fence-sitting." I wouldn't be disappointed. -Neil

    RE: Just got my 632-LRs

I've had my eyes on the 632's as well. My current speakers are floor standers but I think they actually have a smaller footprint then the 632's. I wonder, if you use them with a sub if the 632's wouldn't be larger then I need for a 16x14 room. I'm also curious if anyone out there as compared Aperion's to Orb's. They were apealing due to their small dimensions.

    RE: Just got my 632-LRs

Ben, I've since returned my 632's After listening to other speakers in their price range, I decided that they just didn't have the midrange response that I needed. Also, they seemed to be a bit boomy as well. That may have had more to do with room placement and receiver setup, dunno. The Aperion rep that I talked to on the phone said that these particulare speakers need a longer break-in period than their other speakers. I'm not sure where I stand on the whole break-in theory, but I'm pretty sure that the midrange of these speakers would not improve enough for me to want to keep them. Anyway, if you are interested in smaller speakers, the 632's probably wouldn't be right for you because they are rather large. With the stands, they take up just as much floor space as towers. Good luck, Neil
