    Center channel speaker????

Browsing through the various topics here on this forum there seems to be a common thread of a complaint about the center channel speaker (the 522D vac) why is this? and does Aperion plan on addressing this issue? I do plan to buy a system from you guys some time in the near future. I would feel a whole lot more comfortable with my buying decision if I knew that this important part of any system(the center channel) was going to be looked into and upgraded.

    RE: Center channel speaker????

I'm wondering that too. From what I've read the 522D-VAC can be a bit harsh. That can be a problem since most modes where a center channel is used by a reciever they don't let you adjust treble. And the whole harsh thing could be a result on the type of reciever you have. Though, they seem to be working on a 533-VAC. RE: Center channel speaker????

I did try the VAC for 30 days and I just thought that the timbre match between the other speakers in the Intimus line was 'not right'.  Granted, they definatly brought out the midrange, but it just sounded like disembodied voices to me.  They weren't anchored to the display like it should be.

Adjusting the treble of the center channel wouldn't help, the issue was in the 'way too forward' midrange as compared to the 522D-PT's that I have.

Not only is the new VAC going to have the new crossover, I believe it is being revoiced as well to match the timbre of the other speakers in the line.  If someone from Aperion could confirm this I would appreciate it.

I agree with Matt's thoughts above.  I lived with the VAC for approx. 10 months before switching over to the 522-C (which works great as a center for me).  I would be interested to know if the 533-VAC solves the timbre-matching issue the 522-VAC had?

To any concerned with the performance of the VAC though, consider the 522-C as a viable alternate.
