Need help picking out a sub

Hi guys, I need a bit of help picking out a sub.  Here is what I plan to purchase for my system.  It will be 6.1 and I already have the three 422 satellites.  I want to buy two 532-LRs for the front channels and a 533-VAC for the center channel.  Now I've already gone over my budget so I'm trying to save on cash.  Would the S-8 be an ok subwoofer for this system?  I'm not a huge bass crazy person, I just want the lower frequencies to be there.  I'll be mainly watching movies and playing games.  Would the 532s drown out the S-8?  Do I absolutely have to get the S-10?  It's twice the price and my wife will go crazy if I buy it.  Thanks ahead of time guys.

It's hard to make a meaningful recommendation w/o knowing the size of the room, but the S-10 is awesome in all but the largest of rooms. If yours is 300 sq./ft. or less, I'd suggest that you complete your 422 6.1 system with 3 additional 422's and an S-10. You can always take advantage of Aperion's excellent return policy if the sound is not full enough, or "trade up" later.

Well the room is about a 20x15.  I'm temporarily using 2 Alesis Monitor One studio monitors (bookshelf size, http://www.alesis.com/product.php?id=28) as the front speakers and I've noticed how much more powerful they sound than the 422s.  If I do go with 422s all around, then I know I'm going to notice the difference and regret it.  That's why I wanted to get the 532s.  Maybe I'll try the S-8 and then just trade up if it doesn't fill the sound right?  I've been using Lord of the Rings: Return of the King as my benchmark test, what an amazing movie to showcase surround sound!

I would upgrade the fronts to 532's and the VAC. Your room is right on the edge for sub size. If you really like low end shake and rattle, then the S-10 would be the right choice. You can always try the S-8 first and see if it offers enough power then you can exchange it in the first 30 days or upgrade it within the first year.
