    533-VAC as L-R speakers?

I have on order two 532-LR's and a 533-VAC for use in a 5.1 system with the S-12 sub and a different manufacturer's rear speakers. My issue is this: Each 532-LR's will have to go in a cubbyhole of 20" W x 12" H x 23" D. The only opening out of these holes is the front. I am concerned about this because of the rear-ported design of 532-LR's and how placing them in these holes would affect them. Will I be better served by changing the left and right speakers to 533-VAC also? The 533-VAC's don't appear to be rear ported. This approach will end up costing me another $200, which I may be able to live with, but will it really be a better solution in my case? Is it wacky to use the 533-VAC for left and right because they are marketed as "center channel"? The 532-LR's I ordered are backordered. So, I can change my order to 533-VAC's without too much hassle. I'd appreciate any guidance you may have. Thanks

    RE: 533-VAC as L-R speakers?

I have also bought two 532's, a 533-vac and a s-12, but I opted for the 522's for the surrounds.  I definitely recommend those.  I was wondering if you could mount those 532s up about 5 feet high on the wall?  That is what I had to do to get my triangle seperation.  And I mounted my surrounds around six feet high, all speakers are slightly angled down towards the seating area.  Just an idea

    RE: 533-VAC as L-R speakers?

Upon consulting Ben Fowler at Aperion, who assured me that the cubbyhole is large enough to not affect the characteristics of the 532-LR's, I am sticking with them. After some listening tests (keeping the speakers inside and outside the cubby) I agree with Ben. There isn't any difference that I can tell.
