    2007 Resolutions

Hey Guys, I got my system together and it sounds great!!!

    2-633T, 1-634VAC,1-S10,2-534SS.

I ended up putting the 534SS speakers on the L/R sides of my back wall as dipoles.

However, I have room for 1 more 534SS speaker on my back wall in the center. I would like to know if this is a good idea for Aperion for 2007?

Extra Info: HDMI 1.3 is coming available for HD players and audio can support DTS-HD which will take advantage of the 2 surround back speakers (7.1 instead of matrixing the back speakers).

Idea: I would like to see aperion change the 534SS to be able to accept and send audio from 2 sources (like a stereopole mode). Therefore, people like me who can only have 1 speaker in the center, can hook up a 7.1 system.

    Thoughts?

    RE: 2007 Resolutions

Melissa, Thanks for the post. I'm thinking of upgrading my 532 LR's, which I'm using for surrounds, to the 534SS's. The 532's are next to the sofa (next to our ears basically). I'm thinking the 534SS up on the wall would provide for a broader more difused sound (than focused on our ears). How do you like the sound of the 534SS's? And how high above your listening area did you decide to place them? Thanks, Rory

    RE: 2007 Resolutions

I like the 534SS! However, I had to put them in bipole mode and turn the volume on them up since they are so far behind me. Ohh, and they are about 6 feet up.

One more thing, sometimes I can hear the back speaker on the left a little louder when I'm sitting on the right side of the room, and vice versa.

My room isn't as fancy as of the others, but heres a link to it:

    RE: 2007 Resolutions

Thanks for the pics. Very nice HT room. I see what you mean about where your 534SS are positioned. You've got a lot of space. My listening/viewing area looks to be about a 1/4 or 1/5 of your space (my space is small/tiny by comparison). I'm thinking of placing the 534SS on the side walls. Our sofa is right up against the wall. So outside of the bipole mode (I've read reviews that suggest this may be a better fit for some listening spaces anyway), the volume, and the left/right thing, do you feel like you get a good surround sound from them? Thanks again.

    RE: 2007 Resolutions

I like the surround sound, I have monopoles in the back in another room. They are much louder, however, it is sometimes distracting because you notice it is coming from that speaker. In other words, if birds are chirping, it doesn't sound like they are all around you but right where that speaker is and it sometimes drowns out what is coming from the front speakers (I start focusing on the sound from that speaker). Also, depending on which side of the room you sit on, the speaker corresponding to that side will be "much" louder and you will barely notice the sound from the other back speaker.

With the bipoles, I almost forget they are on and I think the sound is just coming from the left or right front speakers.

    RE: 2007 Resolutions

Thanks for discussing this with me. There haven't been too many people who have commented specifically on the performance of the 534SS (outside of a couple of professional reviews). I will just have to give these a try. Thanks again.
