Anyone able to use Aperion Banana Plugs with Onkyo Receivers?

My Onkyo receiver is old. I could not use the banana plugs on the receiver side. Anyone out there able to use these banana plugs on the new line of Onkyo receivers, like the TX-SR805/875?

    James,

I assume you are talking about speaker connections.

The TX-SR805 does accept banana plugs. BUT!!!

This depends on how much depth you have to work with in your installation.

I have the TX-SR805 that is deep tall and heavy.

From front to back including the speaker binding posts the 805 is about 17 ¾ inches deep. I wanted to use banana plugs to simplify installation, but the AVR would have protruded over 1 inch from my audio rack. With all connections hooked up, audio, video and speakers the AVR just barely fits flush without banana plugs.

I used Aperion banana plugs on my entire system and I have an Onkyo 605. By the way one plug was bad, not crimpt (sorry about spelling) correctly. I had to go to Radio Shack and get two their.

    Jack,

Yes, I was talking about the speaker connections.

Since I keep the receiver on top of a shelf (too hot to keep inside) that is pretty deep, I have no problem with space at the back. The back of my current receiver is about 3/4' from the wall.

    Thanks for the information.

    James
