    Sound Treatments

    Hello All,

I recently started to experiment with sound treatments in my living room to see what the impact is on sound quality. Much to my amazment, a little bit of sound absorbtion can make a huge difference. I will be detailing the differences I get with various sound panel placements and share them with the group once I am done with playing.

I believe sound treatments to be the missing link in most people's systems and can provide significant improvement to even the most modest of systems. I am surprised this does not get more "press" in the audio community.

I was curious what others have done with sound treatments in their rooms. Please share what you have done and your impressions of improvements it provided, if any. I also thought I would start a poll, if that is easier, to see how many folks use sound treatments in their rooms.

I would also like to know what sound treatments Aperion uses in their demo rooms. If one of our guru's can reply, that would be great!

Do you make use of sound treatments?

I would like to get a feel for how many folks use sound treatments and whether it works for them. Thanks for participating!

James, you may find this link interesting but you may have already seen it.

I became more interested in the subject after reading dpack’s post #5074 in the gallery.

I think it may be difficult to get a good compromise in reduced reflections and aesthetic appeal if you need to place the sound absorbing material in strategic locations to minimize reflections and reverberation.

Since I have a vaulted ceiling 11.5 ft at the high point; that may be one place that may yield results but would look strange.
