    To be new owner.

Hi everyone!  I just got the balls to finally start my first HT. After reading avs forum, I just purchased an Onkyo TX-SR604 receiver and was reaserching speakers. Aperion speakers came to be a common answer for starters like me. The only thing I owned prior to this was a JVC mini-system and a Dayton 10" Subwoofer Kit I put together 5 years ago. I now have a Sony KDF-E50A10 50" 3LCD rear projection TV.

I went Aperion's bookshelf speakers because my wife doesn't want anything too obtrusive. So I just ordered the Intimus 532 L&R, 422 for my surrounds, and 533 VAC center to go with my old Dayton Sub. I would use the speakers mainly for TV, movies and video games.

Does this sound like a safe setup?

Hello William, welcome to the family!

Your setup does sound like a pretty safe setup...Granted I don't really know your room dimensions or much else about your room. Our 533 center works great for most medium to large sized rooms, as well as the 532 books. They have a sweet, open midrange, and work well in a lot of different rooms whilst still having the flexibility to be mounted on your walls, ceilings, stands...etc.

If you want to dive a bit deeper into it you could list your room specs or some pictures, but hey, the speakers are already on the way to you. I say grab em, set em up, rock out for a few hours and let us know what you think!

    Cheers,

    William,

So how did you like everything?  I ordered the exact same thing.  I couldn't squeeze any more money out of the wife for a sub, but I do have a 12" Velodyne laying around in piano black lacquer finish (I think Velodyne uses 1 coats of lacquer).  Anyway, I have already started my savings for a new aperion sub so I can put my Velodyne back in the basement where it belongs.  i am scared my Velodyne is going to break some dishes in the cupboards and would love to have an 8" APR or the new Bravus for my Aperions! I get my Aperions tomorrow along with my new tv stand, plasmas wall mount and a bunch of cables from monprice.  I took the day off work tomorrow!
