    No Video, Suggestions on Troubleshooting

I just bought the equipment for a home theater.  I have the Onkyo SR702 with the Onkyo DV-CP702 DVD player.  I am using component video to connect the two and optical for sound.

I have the SR702 receiver hooked to a Panasonic PT-AE700U projector.

I got the VAC center speaker, Front Right and Left are 522.  Four 422 for back.  At this point I was just testing and hooked up only a 5.1 system.

I was able to a) see setup screen from SR702, b) hear 5.1 sound from DVD and also play CD.  I could not get any video from DVD or any of setup screens from DVD player.

Any ideas of what I am doing wrong.  (I still need to recheck all the cables, but it was 12:30 and today is work day!!)

It could be your dvd is set to display progressive scan but your projector cannot display progressive. Try setting your dvd to interlaced.

I figured it out.  I had the video input for DVD set wrong.  The Onkyo receiver had the 3 outputs labeled 3, 2, 1 right to left, vs. the more English expectation of left to right.
