    new system set up questions

On my 5DB's where is the bipole  / dipole switch, I can't seem to find it.

How do I know if I am set for bipole for dipole.

Ran Yamaha YAPO, and I am not sure I have Bravus 10D set up properly.

If I set as SWF only I get nothing if I set as Frnt and SWF I get something.

I have tried mains as both small and large made no difference.

I am using LFE out on Yamaha RVX-3900 with Aperion sub cable.

Do I enable or disable the bypass on Bravus?

Crossover set at 80Hz on both Bravus and AVR.

    Thanks Bob

Re: new system set up questions

Hello Bob and welcome to the forum!

The dipole/bipole switches are located underneath the grille, specifically the right hand grille for the right speaker and the left hand grille for the left speaker.  The switch should be set to dipole out of the box.

Hmmm that's strange you should get sound from the sub with the receiver set to SWF when the fronts are set to small.  But I see you have the 6Ts, so you will want to set them to large anyway and then just use the Frnt and SWF setting that is working for you.

There shouldn't be any difference between setting both the sub and receiver crossover to 80 or setting the sub crossover to bypass as a 80 Hz crossover for the sub should be the end result of either configuration.

I hope that helps but please let us know if you have any other questions!

Re: new system set up questions

So do I need to pull  off the grill to get to the switch,

or is it just underneath as I looked there and couldn't seem to find it.Embarrassed

On the sub, I do not get sound from the sub with the receiver set to just SWF, when the fronts are set to small.

Only get sound when I use the Frnt and SWF setting.

I have set the fronts to large anyway, so it seems to be working OK.

I need to do some more fine tuning, and the overall sound stage is coming together.

    Thanks!

Yes you will have to remove the grilles to get to the switches.
