moth076:Is only the wall on the back side of the speaker that has the adverse acoustic effect, or the side walls have an impact, as well? When having speakers close to the side walls, would turning them inward a few degrees help?
I will push the shelving unit closer to the fireplace, put the spikes on the towers and try to reposition ...

vladimir.olexa@gmail.com:on the same note, in a 15-20x15-20 room, would it be better to have one 10D or two 8Ds?
It's a trade off between those two configurations, you'll get deeper bass out of one ten but a more even bass distribution with less dead spots with two 8Ds.

Yeah honestly your 5Ts are already too close to the walls, so I think if you did go up to the 6Ts you would have to rethink your set up entirely.

PJ:Bought it (but haven't watched it yet) on Blu. Loved it in the theater. Saw it twice there, and once on a plane. GREAT movie.
I, too, am not even remotely a Trekkie, and I loved it. More importantly, the friends I went to see it with the first time WERE Trekkies, and THEY loved it. According to ...

Scott E.:Thanks Jason. What would you say is the max sized room for a 10D then?
I would say around 500 square feet.

Scott E.:Just so that I have a fuller understanding, what would happen to the bass sound with an 8D in a 20ftx20ft room or larger? Would there not be enough volume to fill the room? Or is it an air displacement issue?
What are people's thoughts on a 10D in a 13ft x 13ft room? Is that too much? I only ask because I may ...

Indeed a sub will help out with the bass, while the increased bass extension would be the main benefit of the 6B for your application you will also get a bit of a bump in midrange fullness out of the 6Bs over the 5B.

Hello and welcome to the forum!
Most folks will find the 6B to be too large for a desktop set up since they are 8.3" wide and 12.8" deep, but they will provide you with about 30 Hz more bass extension and fuller mids than the 5B, so if you have room for them I think the difference in sound quality would be apparent.
Hope that ...
