• Re: 5T vs. 6T – Sound Quality

Hi Mike, I had 5T's/5C for about 8 months and then upgraded to 6T's/6C. My listening area is approx 20ft wide by 12ft deep with an opening on one side to the dining area (additional 10ft wide) so my area is a medium size room. I think the differences will be more significant in a larger room but I'll give you my impressions. I ...

  • Re: 5T's vs 4T's

Hi David, Is 16x22 your listening area or the room size? How far away do you sit from the TV? Also what proportion of the time will you listen to music/movies? These will help determine if you need to extra step up for the 5T's which would be much better for music listening. For movies there's really no difference. Jason

I would also consider the new player oppo is putting out: http://www.oppodigital.com/blu-ray-bdp-83/ It is likely to be $499 from what I've read and will play DVD-A's and SACD's if you're into that. Also I'd be careful of the PS3 if you use a universal remote as the PS3 uses bluetooth and is not compatible with ...

  • Re: Need help deciding what to buy......

Hey David, A stock are "open box" which means they are the speakers returned within 30days. They are in new condition meaning there is nothing wrong no scratches or anything. You can find them under open box under the store tab. If the speakers are returned with even the smallest, and I mean truely the smallest scratch, they are bumped ...

  • Re: Need help deciding what to buy......

Hey David, I've been following our thread but haven't written anything else yet since I think everybody has covered all the bases. I think one thing I want to add is to have you consider A and B stock. If you do I think you should call Jason Hicks up and see if there are any A-stock 5B's 5C coming in anytime soon. They usually know ...

  • Re: Aperion Towers and vibrations

Hey DP, You have to use the small saucers they sent you with the spikes. You have to put the spike on with somebody holding the speaker off the ground and slide the saucer under it. There aren't any rubber spikes for the towers. It ended up being such a pain that I just set my 6T's on the floor. :) Jason

  • Re: 6B, 5T, or 6T...help me decide!

Hi Pearsall, I've had both the 5T's and 6T's, but not the 6B's. My room is approximately the same size in sq feet (22x14x10 = 3080). I had the 5T's for 8 months and decided to upgrade to the 6T's because I wanted to use the year trade up program. I sit 12 feet away from the towers and I can tell you there is a substantial ...

  • Re: Receiver tips

Hey Toby. Since you want HDMI pass through I think either will work. I personally think the difference in weight between the 805 and the 806 is significant. The 806 is significantly lighter and the internal layout is not as impressive. I like the following reviews for both the 805 and ...

  • Re: THX Cinema vs. Doby Digital

Sounds great Jason. I'm interested to see your response. I've also noticed that THX cinema was my default for TV and have switched it to Neural 5.1 which really utilizes the surrounds better then THX cinema.
