They sure gave it the ol' college try. It sure must suck for them to try to completely copy the iPod in nearly every conceivable way (except all the stuff that really matters) and then to have Apple turn around and completely steal their thunder:

(it's ok, Microsoft - I still love the xbox 360 quite a lot.)

True. There's no stopping the hackers. You either make it easy for people to buy your music or you make it a pain in the butt. The easier and cheaper it is to buy the more you'll sell. I think the record companies are shooting themselves in the foot. Good post Alex.

Seems like Apple is trying to make some waves in getting the industry to stop the ridiculous cat-and-mouse DRM game:

I couldn't be more behind this - there will ALWAYS be people who will steal music, and the only people who really lose out where DRM is concerned are the consumers.

This was inspired by the CD's vs. vinyl debate...

How do you feel about mp3's vs. CD's?

I've been very happy with the ability to buy music online, etc, but I can't help but notice a difference between mp3s and CD's, especially on a high-quality system like my aperions! I'm considering an ipod, but I don't have much experience with itunes. Any ipod users with some feedback would be much appreciated!
