  • Re: Epic Song List

It may not be traditional hard rock, but I really like Metallica's S&M album on DVD in 5.1.  It really sounds killer on our speakers.

  • Calibrating and configuring my Aperion with Onkyo 805

I would really appreciate if I can I have any help with this: As said on other posts, after much investigating I went with Aperion (532 Intimus with the VAC and Sub-8) with an Onyo 805. I am a total newbie, I like music and watching movies and have always wanted to have a Top of the line HT.... which I now have! ;)  I have several ...

  • Analog vs. Digital for DVD/DVD-A

Hey, I just added a Denon DVD-2910 DVD/DVD-A/SACD player to my set-up, and am trying to get a handle on opinions of digital vs. analog wiring. I know for SACD I need to use the analog outs, but am wondering whether it is better to stick with the digital for DVD-A and DVD. My reciever is a Denon AVR-3805, so the surround processing is ...
  • Must have DVD-A of 2006

Even though you may never have heard of AIX Records and even though you may not who the musicians are---you will miss out on one of the best recording of all time if you don't get: Moonlight Acoustica   Read about it, order it, and never look back!   btw, I don't work for AIX, I just love the quality of the projects they put out.

  • 80Hz fixed cutoff on Denon SACD Players + 422 - Problem?

Ok, I really couldn't figure out how to word the ****le (apparently some sort of content filter takes the t1t out of t1tle, so that looks weird...) of this without it turning out goofy, which I think it did ... anyway, my question is in regards to DVD-A/SACD playback with the 422s. I realize that they aren't the ideal speakers for this, and I ...

  • RE: Multichannel Music

I like Fleetwood mac on dvd-a, linkin park, and the best of R.E.M.  I purchased a Bob Marley dvd-a and it was horrible..it sounded like an old two channel recording with echoes comming from the rear channels. What else have you heard that you like?

  • DVD-A or SACD?

I just ordered my first player that can play both DVD-A and SACD and I have seen a few disks that I want that are available in both versions.  I don't know the technical details of the two formats.  Which one should I get if I have a choice?  What is the difference?

  • RE: Multichannel Music

So far Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon is the only multi-channel recording that has really impressed me. One nice thing about is it was remastered by the band, so it sounds the way they want it to sound. I've also listened to some David Bowie, but I can't remember which ones. I think I prefer Bowie in 2-channel. I'm really looking forward to ...

  • Multichannel Music

Being that I'm new to multichannel music, I'm curious as to what others are listening to on DVD-Audio and SACD Surround. So far I'm quite pleased with the following on DVD-Audio: Steely Dan - Gaucho, Bjork - Vespertine, Crystal Method - Legions of Boom, Outkast - Stankonia. I've not yet made the 6 necessary analog connections to transmit SACD ...
