  • Best Receiver for the Money

I just purchased basically the Intimus 5B Fusion SD package from Aperion, and haven't even hooked it up yet. We have an old receiver that will work for now, but I'm sure we'll want to upgrade soon. Speakers will most often be used for Movies & Music - no gaming. The system is going in our basement which is long and skinny, about ...

  • Building a new 5.1 setup... would this be a good receiver choice?

Hello everyone, first time caller... This summer (or sooner), I'm going to be putting together my 5.1 home theater (after many years of wishing/dreaming/etc.). The problem is this: my room is rather large. The actual listening area is roughly 15' x 20' x 10', but the total room volume is a bit over 4600 cubic feet; it's an ...

  • Bravus 12D w/ Denon 3808CI

I'm having some trouble properly setting up my subwoofer. I have it connected through the SUB out (LFE). There is considerable noise coming from the woofer even with the signal cable away from all power cords. The main issue I am having is getting my sub to play. It doesn't seem to receive a signal when the subwoofer is in ON mode. When I ...

  • SACD through Denon 2807?

I can't seem to play SACDs in my system, which is causing me to weep.  The set-up: CD/DVD player = Oppo 970 HD Receiver = Denon 2807 Speakers = An unstoppable force of Aperion sound (fronts = 2 x 633T, center = 634, surrounds = 533T, S-10 sub -- and yes, this system is as unbelievably amazing as you might expect) HDMI connect between ...

  • Rotel vs. Onkyo

HelloI was wondering if someone could give me a hand... • Denon AVR 4306 or 4308CI?

Is anyone using either of these receivers?  I just ordered speakers (Front - 633T, Center 634-VAC) and realized I want to upgrade my receiver as well.  I have seen great reviews for the Denon AVR 4306.   I also see they recently released an upgraded version the 4308, but cannot find a single review.   Is anyone ...

  • Re: Best A/V Receiver used primarily for music

This is a great question.  I just ordered the 633-t speakers and am concerned about an old Kenwood receiver, 1996, at 100 watts x2 not supporting the new speakers.  I will be using the speakers for 100% for 2 channel music.  The units mentioned in this thread all talk about all these fancy features with surround sound ...

take a look at Marantz. both the 7500 and 8500 are great for music reproduction, as well as movies. actually, I think those were recently replaced by the 7001 and 8001, so maybe you can get yourself a closeout model.  as for Denon, I wasn't as impressed with their music reproduction, but for movies they are excellent.
