  • Audible whooshing sound when Bravius 8A sub woofer volume is increased

I just purchased a Slim Stage 30 and Bravius 8A sub woofer combination. When the sub woofers level is increased to about 33% I start to notice an audible sound from the sub (I know this sounds weird) like air rushing down a open chimmeny flue. I can hear it from my viewing position. It gets louder when I continue to increase the subs sound ...

  • Speaker Repair Advice: Intimus S-10 Subwoofer

I pulled my Aperion speakers out of the closet after 2 years of storage and my 2003 Intimus S-10 Subwoofer no longer works.  Any advice out there on speaker repair or is it better to consider this a (still attractive) small endtable?  I really didn't get enough use out of this subwoofer over the years and finally set up a great home ...

  • Bravus II 8D Phase

Hello, This is my first real system (intimus 4t hybrid), and so far I've been really satisfied.  However, when tuning the bass according to several articles on the net, I was instructed try to adjust the phase if the bass sounds a bit "boomy."  However I could not seem to find any phase setting on my Bravus II 8D, or ...

  • Which Sub?

Hey Everyone, I have been saving up for a future purchase of some 5Ts, 4BPs, and a 5C. These speakers will be in a 17ft x 13ft room, and use is 50/50 music/movies. Deciding which sub to get is giving me a lot of trouble though so I'm hoping you all can help me out!  I like a lot of bass, and I like to be able to feel it too. I like ...

  • Sub settings

I have the 522D's for front and back and the matching center channel along with the big 12" sub.  I had been using an inexpensive Onkyo receiver (HTIB variety) but just bought a Pioneer VSX-1020-K and thought it time to make sure the sub is set up correctly.  I am primarily interested in movies with part of my upgrade being a ...

  • Is my Subwoofer (S10) Blown?

Depending on the movie and the system volume, I will periodically hear loud, nerve-jangling pops coming from my S10 subwoofer during bass heavy sequences that don't just take you out of the movie, they're like getting stabbed in the ear drum.  I've experimented with various levels on the receiver (an Onkyo TX-SR674 with the levels ...

  • Re: Intimus S10 Subwoofer Volume Level

First of all, thanks for replying quickly to my message.  I appreciate it. I double-checked that my subwoofer was plugged into the pre-out subwoofer output.  My old powered subwoofer was also plugged into the same output and it worked fine.  I didn't have to turn the volume level all the way to get sound out of it. ...

  • Intimus S10 Subwoofer Volume Level

Hi.  I'm relatively a newbie to the home theater system world.  I'm setting up my Intimus S10 subwoofer for the first time (I purchased it from someone who recently lost their job).  My receiver is a Pioneer Elite 92-TXH. My problem is that the subwoofer only produces sound when the volume level is at its highest ...

  • Sub Volume Levels

I know everyone has their preference for bass and how much they like.  I have had a "department store" quality sub for several years now and have never owned a nice sub until now.  I just got a Bravus 12D and was wondering what volume levels are used out there.  My receiver I keep at 0db.  My crossover is set at 200 ...
