I have a Classic Intimus 533 Cinema HD package. I am interested in adding an Emotiva XPA-5 (200 watts) amp. My question is will my Aperions handle this many watts without damage? It seems like alot of watts for 5 1/4 in speakers? I know that not enough power can distort and damage them as well as cranking them up to high.
2 Intimus 533-T Tower Speakers (50-200 watts)
1 Intimus 533-VAC Center Channel Speaker (50- 150 watts)
Intimus 534-SS dipole/bipole surround speaker (50-300 watts)

Hello there,
Sorry looks like your post slipped through the cracks for a few days.
Yes you can run the five series speakers with a 200 watt amp. Would it be possibly to overpower them? Sure, but actually underpowering speakers is the more common scenario when folks blow them out, so you wouldn't have to worry about that.
As long as you aren't playing them for hours with the volume cranked to the top or near the top of the dial you should be fine.
I hope that helps!
