I'm looking for advice on settings for my speakers
I have:
4T Front L/R
4C Center
6-IW surround L/R
Bravus 8D sub
Onkyo 806 reciver
I was wondering if anyone could help me with the speaker configuration settings.

I'll take a shot at it. I do not have an 806.
Set your fronts a small.
Set subwoofer to true.
Set sub crossover to 80.
Leave fronts at default level.
Set sub level in AVR to same as front default
Set center to front defaults +2
I can't help you on the IW, just use your ears
On the sub set the crossover to bypass
On the sub set the level to -9 as a start and adjust to taste

I have an 876, and I don't believe you set anything to "small" or "large." You only set the crossover setting. So, you can set the 4T's to 50hz or whatever, and still have the sub pick up at 80hz.

I just have an older Onkyo but I think I have heard on the newer ones it's called fullband for large.

Set the crossovers on the IWs to 80 Hz. Same with the 4C center.
As for the levels, your best bet is to do a manual calibration with an SPL meter. Since you have a 5.1 system from us, you should have received one with your care kit. Use that to set the levels to balance the system. We definitely recommend a manual calibration over an automatic.

The 4T do go surprizingly low and I experimented quite a bit with them but in my 2.1 (4Ts and 8D) case the system sounds best with the 4Ts set small and crossed over at 80Hz. Another benefit is that the sub is always on all the time the AVR is and only shuts off 15 or so minutes after the AVR is shut down. Of course the spl meter can be quite helpful, I have just never gotten around to getting one.

Indeed, the SPL meter becomes very helpful with a surround set up, but it's not really necessary with 2.0 or 2.1. Sounds like you've got your system dialed in perfect [Y]
