Hello to all. Enjoy this site. but it sure has been dead here. The emotiva site is seeing alot of new aperion people there checking out there amps. I do have to say i do like there products. Go with my 6 Ts and 6 C nice. I have a XPA-3 right now hooked up to them. Going to get a XPA-2 as soon as i get my bonus check next month. Hook that up to my fronts and use the XPA-3 for my center and rears. Would love to get 2 XPA-1 Mono block amps but, don't want my neighbor's upset with me all the time… LOL Love my 6 Ts and 6 C. Been along time since i have seen any new reviews from new buyers. Hope there still selling ok for the Aperion Crew. Take care all and enjoy your systems. Grego |

just curious, what are you driving the xpa-3 with? I currently have an Onkyo 605 driving my 6T's and 5C with future plans for Aperion surrounds….I've been eyeing up the xpa-5 but I would need to upgrade my receiver to do that or bite the bullet on an audio/video processor such as the UMC-1….did the xpa-3 significantly improve the sound of your 6T's and 6C? |

I'm using a Onkyo TX SR-806 Had to upgrade as my Denon didn't have pre outs. As for sound, the bass has more punch and i can crank it up all the way with out clipping at all. Just last night watched Star Trek and when they were shootong each other and the bullets or? were hitting the metal you could feel and the clarity was awesome. When i get the XPA-2 the fronts are going to love the power. Some TV station's have low audio on there channels so i have to turn it up more. But yes i am pleased. Grego |

do you have a sub? my next Aperion purchase is the 8D…..not sure how much of a bass upgrade it will be though since I have the 6T's….don't wan't to waste $500 bucks if it's not a worthwhile bass upgrade, but at the same time I don't have $800 for the 10D |

Yes i have a Definative Tech. SuperCube II 1350 watts. Your 6 T's will be just fine. I have my volume on my sub at about 1/3. As the 6 T's with the XPA-3 do just fine. My brother in law has the 12D but have just heard it for music at low volume. So the 8D will just add more punch for movies, IMO |
just curious can the 6t handle the the mono block from emotiva
Sure you could use the Emotiva mono blocks with the 6T. With 500 wpc you could blow the woofers out, but I'm betting your ears would crap out before the 6Ts did, it would likely be at levels well over 100 dB before you ran into issues.

Based on my minimal experience, it seems that where quality amps come into play are lower noise floor, clarity, and range of dynamics. All buzz words, sure, but the biggest value I've found in adding an XPA-3 has been at lower volumes, not mind-numbing loudness.
Would LOVE to hear 6T's mated with XPA-1s. Or a whole Aperion system with a new XPR-7 that's coming out soon. |
