5/8/2012 - Aperion Audio Introduces Hi-Fi via Wi-Fi for Windows

Aperion ARIS™ Wireless Speaker for Windows Lets Music Enthusiasts Listen Anywhere in Their Homes

May 8, 2012 (Redmond, WA) – Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer maker of award-winning home theater speaker systems, today gives Microsoft employees a sneak preview of its newest wireless speaker. The Aperion ARIS lets digital music lovers listen to their tunes from any room in their home. They simply place the speaker where they want it and connect via wireless or Ethernet to their home network using the Windows 7 and/or Windows 8 Consumer Preview operating systems.

Most people today store their music on a variety of digital devices, including desktops, laptops, notebook PCs, network storage drives, tablets and smartphones. These devices are usually on the home network, but users can listen to music only on a device that is physically plugged into a powered speaker or stereo system. The ARIS wireless speaker eliminates the need to move music files between devices or plug and unplug cables to hear specific tracks. Using the Windows 7 Play To feature, music lovers can send music from any device on the network to an ARIS speaker located where they want to listen.

“The ARIS Wireless Speaker combines our experience in making wireless speaker systems with the media capabilities of the Windows operating system,” says Mike Hopkins, Product Development Manager at Aperion Audio. “The result is effortless listening from any room. Plus, with the new ARIS app, smartphone users can choose music from any device on their network and instantly send it to any connected ARIS speaker.”

ARIS connects to a home network at the push of a button using Wi-Fi Protected Setup. The all-in-one ARIS speaker system includes six internal drivers and four amplifiers that provide a total of 100 W RMS power. The brushed aluminum enclosure, measuring 6.5 inches high by 14.75 inches wide, increases rigidity to fill most rooms with full-range, distortion-free stereo sound.

“We’re excited to see the launch of a product that combines Aperion’s experience in building high-quality wireless audio with the built-in music streaming capabilities in Windows,” says Aidan Marcuss, Sr. Director, Windows Core Marketing and Ecosystem, Microsoft Corp. ” The Aris products have earned the Compatible with Windows 7 logo, ensuring a seamless install experience.”

Key Features of the Aperion ARIS Connected Speaker for Windows:
• Single-piece brushed aluminum enclosure
• Adjustable and removable steel base
• 100 W RMS total power
• Six internal speakers (four powered drivers, two passive radiators)
• Three sound modes: natural, bass boost and enhanced stereo
• Push-button connection to home network using Wi-Fi Protected Setup
• Compatible with Windows 7 (Compatible with Windows 8 pending)
• Works with DLNA®*

Pricing, Availability and Warranty:

2/1/2011 - Aperion Audio Unwraps the Aperion Verus Forte Home Theater Speakers

Aperion Verus Forte Continues the Verus Tradition of Pure Acoustics and Aesthetics, in a Smaller Form Factor

Portland, OR, February 1, 2011 - Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer maker of award-winning home theater speakers, today launches the Aperion Verus Forte line of home theater speakers. The new Verus Forte delivers the immersive, true-to-life experience and sleek looks of the acclaimed Verus Grand series—but its petite stature and slender curves remind you this is the powerful younger sibling. The Verus Forte was engineered from the start for highly accurate sound reproduction that transports movie and music lovers into a performance.

“We worked to produce uncolored, authentic sound in a small form-factor speaker by achieving a flat frequency response, a power response that slowly and evenly rolls off toward the highs and the lowest possible distortion,” says Ken Humphreys, Aperion’s lead speaker engineer and a 25-year-veteran of speaker and component design for the audio industry’s most respected brands. “The Axially Stabilized Radiator tweeter we developed specifically for the Verus family handles a range beneath most tweeters, supporting the mid-range driver so the mid-high frequencies are as crystal clear as those at the top of the range.”

The ASR tweeter also figures in a key innovation for the Verus Forte line: the Aperion PhaseSync Driver used in the center channel and bookshelf speakers. By combining the ASR and a woofer in a single space-saving package, the Verus Forte optimizes on- and off-axis performance in the smallest size possible.

The audio enthusiast can configure a well-matched high-performance home theater system by combining a pair of tower speakers, a center channel and a pair of bookshelf speakers for surrounds, all from the Verus Forte family. All Aperion Verus Forte speakers are housed in curved cabinets finished in gloss real cherry-wood veneer or piano-black lacquer.

Like the Verus Grand series, the new Verus Forte line is a high-end complement to Aperion Audio’s award-winning Aperion Intimus® line of home theater speakers.

10/15/2010 - Aperion Audio Unveils the Aperion Verus Grand Home
Theater Speakers at Rocky Mountain Audio Fest

Aperion Verus Grand Home Theater Speakers Immerse Audio Enthusiasts in Real-life Sound at a Real-life Price

Portland, OR, October 15, 2010 - Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer maker of award-winning home theater speaker systems, today debuts the Aperion Verus Grand line of home theater speakers at the Rocky Mountain Audio Fest in Denver, CO. Attendees can be the first to experience the Aperion Verus Grand line’s natural sound by visiting Room 586 of the Denver Marriott Tech Center Hotel during this annual gathering of audiophiles. Aperion Audio designed the Aperion Verus Grand speaker system, including a patent-pending tweeter, for authentic sound reproduction. True-to-life sound sparks an emotional connection that transports movie and music lovers into the performance, exactly as the producers intended. The Verus Grand family is a high-end complement to the company’s award-winning Aperion Intimus® line of home theater speakers.

“The goal for the Aperion Verus Grand line was to create an accurate, uncolored, lifelike experience,” says Ken Humphreys, Aperion’s lead speaker engineer and a 25-year veteran of speaker system and component design for the audio industry’s most respected brands. “To do that, our team built the entire speaker system from the bottom up, engineering each component for maximum sonic impact while keeping the cost in reach of most home theater audio buffs.”

“A key part of the solution is our new Axially Stabilized Radiator™ tweeter, which takes the burden of reproducing upper-mid frequencies off the mid-range driver,” Humphreys adds. “That allows each driver to do the job it does best. The result is wider dispersion for an expanded soundstage and lower distortion to boost clarity.”
The audio enthusiast can configure a well-matched high-performance 5.0 home theater system by combining a pair of tower speakers, a center channel and a pair of bookshelf speakers for surrounds, all from the Aperion Verus Grand family. An enhanced 5.1 system is attained simply by adding an Aperion Bravus subwoofer. In addition to filling a room with sound, the Aperion Verus Grand family’s curved cabinets in gloss cherry-wood veneer or piano-black lacquer lend elegance to any décor.

9/23/2010 - Aperion Audio Sets Home Theater Surround Speakers Free
with a Wireless Plug and Play System

The Aperion Zona™ Wireless Surround Speaker System Lets Enthusiasts and Installers Put Surround Sound Wherever They Want It

Portland, OR (PRWEB) September 23, 2010
Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer maker of award-winning home theater speaker systems, ushers in the Aperion Zona Wireless Surround Speaker System at CEDIA Expo 2010. Aperion’s Zona brings reliable audiophile-grade surround sound to speaker locations where running wires is unsightly, difficult or impossible. The Aperion Zona Wireless Surround Speaker System overcomes these challenges using proven digital wireless technology that connects automatically when turned on. Home theater enthusiasts and custom installers can simply place the speakers where they want, plug them into a power outlet and instantly play high-fidelity sound.

Although surround sound for home theaters debuted years ago, homeowners often leave the surround or rear speakers unconnected to eliminate wires snaking around the room. But home theater buffs know they’re missing out on the full surround sound experience. “About one out of every four people we consult with asks if we make wireless surround speakers,” says Jason Hicks, Home Theater Guru at Aperion Audio. “Until now, we didn’t have a solution. We would’ve happily recommended other existing products, but they typically suffer from poor fidelity, unreliable connections or complexity, and that wouldn’t be acceptable for our customers. I’m excited that our product team has come up with a self-contained, high-end wireless system that lets home theater enthusiasts add surround sound wherever they want—no matter who manufactured their speaker system.”

Aperion designed the Zona speakers to work aesthetically and sonically with all home theater speaker systems. In addition, the Aperion Zona speakers can double as a wireless solution for music stored on personal computers or laptops. Plugging the Aperion Zona transmitter into the PC’s USB port automatically sends sound to Zona speakers located up to 150 feet away.

The Aperion Zona Speaker System consists of a compact wireless transmitter and two two-way powered speakers with tuned port and built-in wireless receivers. The transmitter connects to the Surround Pre-Out jacks of an AVR and the speakers link automatically when plugged in. Once connected, the system produces uncompressed 16 bit/48 kHz CD-quality audio.

Pricing, Availability and Warranty:
The Aperion Zona Wireless Surround Speaker System (two speakers, one transmitter) is priced at $499. Pre-orders are now being accepted, and the system is expected to ship on October 25, 2010. The One (1)-year limited warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship.

6/11/2010 - Aperion Audio Celebrates 10th Anniversary

APERION AUDIO CELEBRATES 10th ANNIVERSARY
Aperion Audio marks ten years of award-winning speakers and industry-leading customer satisfaction by offering special pricing and forum contests through July.

Portland, OR, JUNE 11, 2010 - The Super Bowl in 2000 is remembered for the dozens of dot-com TV commercials by some websites that are no longer around today. That April, Aperion Audio opened their Internet storefront as one of the first online direct-to-consumer manufacturers of audiophile-quality speakers. The company is celebrating ten years of success with special pricing on select speaker products this summer.

Instead of Super Bowl ads or retail middlemen, Aperion poured its resources into the quality of its speakers and pioneered the Totally Risk-Free In-Home Audition®, allowing customers to audition its products in their home. After ten years, the combination of value, the risk-free audition, and free technical support has helped Aperion garner an industry leading 97% customer satisfaction. The three percent return rate compares with an average retail return rate of ten percent across the industry.

"When we started ten years ago, we took a chance and offered free return shipping. And while we're happy to do it, we're even happier that so few customers have needed to take advantage of our offer. We are setting a benchmark for customer satisfaction in the consumer electronics industry, as measured by product returns. Ironically, we've achieved this while offering the gold standard in return policies. That tells me we are fulfilling our promise to educate customers well before and after their purchase," said Jim Hillman, Aperion Audio's CEO.

To celebrate a decade of delivering the joy of home audio, Aperion is offering special pricing on select products and sponsoring contests on audio enthusiast web forums this summer. The Aperion 10th Anniversary 5.1 Home Theater System, which is built around the full-range Intimus 6B monitors, is a high-end system available through the end of July at $770 off the already low, direct-to-consumer price.

The Aperion 10th Anniversary 5.1 Home Theater System includes:
two Intimus 6B Bookshelf Speakers
one Intimus 6C Center Channel Speaker
two Intimus 5DB Surround Speakers
one Bravus 10D Powered Subwoofer

The 10th Anniversary System is available in either Gloss Piano Black or Medium Cherry real-wood finishes for $1,999 through July. And like every Aperion system, the 10th Anniversary System includes free shipping both ways, allowing customers to hear the system in their home with no risk. Special 10th anniversary pricing on a range of other speakers lets home theater enthusiasts upgrade their existing systems at substantial savings.

5/15/2010 - Aperion Signature SLIMstage30™ by Soundmatters Soundbar Announced

Aperion Audio's New Powered Soundbar Enhances the HDTV Experience for Home Theater Enthusiasts' Other Rooms

The Aperion Signature SLIMstage30™ Soundbar by Soundmatters Matches Flat-panel Simplicity and Allows the Enthusiast to Customize Their Sound

Portland, OR, April 15, 2010 - Aperion Audio, a consumer direct maker of award-winning home theater speaker systems, introduces the Aperion Signature SLIMstage30 Soundbar by Soundmatters, a slim profile speaker system for HDTVs. The SLIMstage30 is designed to create theater-like sound for flat-panel HDTVs in secondary viewing locations, such as bedrooms, dens, and children's play areas where simplicity and room aesthetics are just as important as the surround sound experience. Although simple to connect right out of the box, an easy to use settings menu also allows enthusiasts to optimize the sound for their specific room and personal preferences.
As households add a second or third flat-panel HDTV, these secondary viewing locations may not accommodate a 5.1 home theater speaker system due to room size, layout, or pure aesthetics. "Because of our direct relationship with consumers, we were able to sit down in one-on-ones with key decision makers in the home," said Ed de la Fuente, VP of Marketing for Aperion Audio. "Most consumers already expect that a single speaker really can't match the surround sound performance of a discreet 5.1 home theater system, but for these secondary locations they place a premium on aesthetics such as wanting the speaker to visually disappear under the TV. Still important, however, are dialogue intelligibility, a wide surround effect, and clean, dynamic bass – like they get in the theater," he said. De la Fuente added that "While both men and women desire simplicity of setup and use, the audio enthusiasts also want the ability to ‘tweak' the system for optimal sound in their home – so after giving them an accurate starting point, we made sure to include that functionality as well."
The system includes the Aperion Signature SLIMstage30 Soundbar and the Aperion Bravus 8A Subwoofer which provides 100W RMS of low frequency power. The SLIMstage30, engineered in partnership with Soundmatters International, Inc. of Reno, Nevada, includes the 31-inch wide powered soundbar, with a profile of only 3 1/2 inches high by 3 3/4 inches deep, and is finished in a gloss black wrap-around grille to fit most HDTV aesthetics. Soundmatters' patented Linear Magnetic Drive™ speaker array is driven by a total of 140W RMS (at less than 0.8% THD) to create a clear and wide surround sound image. With its built-in decoding of both Dolby® Digital and DTS™ Digital Surround, this soundbar accurately recreates what movie producers intended using Euphony HD™ surround technology, which does not require reflecting walls to create a virtual surround experience.

Pricing and Availability:
The Aperion Signature SLIMstage30 Soundbar and the Aperion Bravus 8A Subwoofer system is priced at $799. The Aperion Signature SLIMstage30 Soundbar standalone unit is priced at $599. Both are available now at AperionAudio.com.

Warranty:
Aperion Signature SLIMstage30 Soundbar Warranty: Two (2) year limited warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship. Aperion Audio Bravus 8A Subwoofer Warranty: Ten (10) year limited warranty covers all defects in material and workmanship. Three (3) year warranty on the amplifier.

1/18/2010 - Listen to Music Wirelessly from a Computer, iPod or any Portable Device on a Home Theater Speaker System

LISTEN TO MUSIC WIRELESSLY FROM A COMPUTER, iPOD OR ANY PORTABLE DEVICE ON A HOME THEATER SPEAKER SYSTEM

Aperion Audio’s Home Audio Link™ Transmits Uncompressed Audio Wirelessly from Any Source and Offers Multi-Room Listening

Portland, OR, January 18, 2010 – Aperion Audio, a consumer direct maker of award-winning home theater speaker systems, introduces the Aperion Home Audio Link (HAL), a wireless adapter which streams any audio format wirelessly from a computer, iPod, MP3 music player or mobile device to a variety of audio systems. By adding more HAL Receiver units the music can be distributed to up to three rooms. HAL is simple to use, utilizes a robust wireless link, and delivers high quality sound at an affordable price.

Many music libraries are stored on computers, MP3 players, and other mobile devices which are restricted to small, built-in speakers. By using Aperion’s HAL, music lovers can hear great sound wherever they want in the home, on the type of sound system they prefer. The Aperion HAL gives users a choice, setting the music free and enabling it to be heard on the best audio system available, such as a home theater speaker system. HAL can also be used to wirelessly connect a powered subwoofer.

To hear music from a laptop computer, for example, the user simply plugs the matchbox sized HAL Send unit into a computer’s USB port, connects the HAL Receive unit into an AV receiver, plugs in the power adapter and the system links automatically. Unlike many wireless products on the market today, HAL does not require a Wi-Fi network or software installation. The HAL gives new meaning to the phrase “plug and play”.

“Our customers have been asking our Home Theater Gurus for advice on wireless audio systems; we set out to find a reliable technology that we could advocate,” said Mike Hopkins, Aperion Audio’s Product Development Manager. “We created HAL to give consumers the opportunity to listen to all of their music or favorite internet radio stations wirelessly on their preferred sound systems and we’ve been able to do it simply with an elegant, affordable solution.”

Pricing and Availability:

The Aperion HAL system is priced at $149. To enjoy distributed music throughout the home, consumers can purchase additional HAL Receive units for $70 each. The system is available for pre-order now at AperionAudio.com and ships January 28, 2010.

Specifications and Warranty:

8/31/2009 - First Speaker Brand to Offer Consumers High Definition Wireless Home Theater Surround Sound with Focus Enhancements' Summit Technology

FIRST SPEAKER BRAND TO OFFER CONSUMERS TRUE HIGH DEFINITION WIRELESS HOME THEATER SURROUND SOUND WITH FOCUS ENHANCEMENTS' SUMMIT TECHNOLOGY

Demonstrating Superior Fidelity with Automated Calibration and Fast Set up, Aperion’s Summit Enabled Speakers to be Showcased At CEDIA EXPO

Campbell, CA - August 31, 2009 -- Focus Enhancements, Inc., a leading supplier of wireless audio technologies announces its partnership with Aperion Audio, a consumer direct maker of award-winning home theater speaker systems. The two companies are joining efforts to offer consumers the first home theater system with Focus Enhancements' Summit wireless technology (“Summit”). Aperion’s Intimus® 5 series speakers will be showcased at CEDIA Expo and plans to introduce similar home theater speakers with integrated Summit technology in the first half of 2010. The out-of-box experience for consumers installing a home theater surround sound system has long been plagued with challenges and frustrations due to the complexity of speaker placement, calibrating audio for desired listening position, burying wires or drilling holes to hide wires, which could take hours and require hiring a professional installer. These obstacles have been overcome, in addition to delivering high fidelity audio wirelessly, with Summit enabled Aperion speakers. “Aperion Audio has built its reputation with home theater audio enthusiasts delivering high quality speakers at a value and is constantly researching new technologies to enhance the user experience,” said Ed de la Fuente, vice president of marketing, Aperion. “We are thrilled to offer a reliable and robust wireless solution with Summit, giving customers the superior audio fidelity they deserve, with a simple, hassle-free set up in minutes.”

The Aperion speakers will feature Focus Enhancements’ patent pending Summit technologies for automatic speaker detection, speaker mapping, speaker channel assignment with SpeakerFinder™ and audio sweet spot calibration with MyZone™ that in seconds produces a time aligned sound field for the listener by adjusting, delay and volume to their listening position. Summit audio is designed for scalability from stereo to 7.1 systems so that consumers can add speakers at their discretion. An uncompressed, 24bit, 48Khz pure digital path from the source to speakers, combined with distortion free programmable filters and crossovers, tuneable to the characteristics of the speaker cabinets and drivers, deliver unrivaled clarity and frequency response. “Consumers no longer have to compromise audio fidelity to satisfy their desire for the convenience and simplicity of wireless surround sound. Speakers with Summit’s digital filters deliver improved fidelity over wired speakers using passive crossovers,” said Tony Parker, vice president of marketing, Focus Enhancements. “The audio speaker market has been asking for a solution such as this and Summit wireless technology is the first to deliver, forever changing the way consumer electronic companies view home theater and audio distribution.” Media who are interested in receiving an in-person demonstration of Aperion’s Summit enabled speakers at CEDIA Expo, September 10 -13, 2009, may contact Linda Ferguson, to schedule a briefing meeting at sound booth 11, building C, Atlanta, GA.

6/10/2009 - Aperion Audio Adds 6-LCR In-Wall to New Line of
Architectural Speakers

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

APERION AUDIO ADDS 6-LCR IN-WALL TO NEW LINE OF ARCHITECTURAL SPEAKERS

The New Intimus 6-LCR In-Wall Home Theater Speaker lends award-winning Aperion Audio sound quality to the wall mounted flat panel TV experience

Portland, OR, June 10, 2009 - Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer manufacturer of award-winning home audio and home theater speakers, began shipping the newest addition to their in-wall and in-ceiling speaker portfolio, the Aperion Intimus 6-LCR In-Wall Home Theater Speaker, which has been designed to deliver an exceptional home theater sound experience for flat panel TV viewers while allowing maximum installation flexibility. The versatile 6-LCR, which can function as a left, center or right channel, creates a seamlessly integrated front soundstage.

"We enjoyed the challenge of producing in-wall speakers that would rise to the level of sound quality found in our floorstanding and bookshelf speakers. These speakers are expressly designed for home theater application - the goal being to maximize vocal intelligibility and overall naturalness of cinematic sound. As one example, the purpose of the driver configuration is to direct the midrange energy toward the listening zone in order to reduce the reflections which manifest themselves as delayed arrivals, consequently smearing the midrange detail," said Ken Humphreys, Aperion's Lead Audio Speaker Engineer, one of the founders of Speakercraft, and an original innovator of in-wall speaker technology.

"Our new 6-LCR was designed in response to our customer's frequent requests for an in-wall speaker that delivers premium sound with a clean appearance in line with today's flat panel display designs. Its 2 1/2-way design, featuring two woofers, gives outstanding performance comparable with a cabinet speaker, but with the sleek look that only an in-wall can provide," said Aperion Audio Home Theater Guru and customer liaison, Jason Hicks.

The Aperion Audio Intimus 6-LCR In-Wall Home Theater Speaker Each Intimus 6-LCR speaker contains an aimable 1" audiophile-grade silk-dome tweeter that enables the listener to direct higher frequencies toward the listening position - crucial in authentic reproduction of dialog. The custom dual 6.5" long-throw woofers are constructed of strong and lightweight woven fiberglass, offering an agile, accurate response that supplies the superior bass and midrange performance essential for the creation of an enveloping, large-scale cinematic experience. In addition, the +/- 3 dB bass and treble equalization switches empower the user to customize the sound to fit even the most challenging of acoustic environments. Whether it's installed horizontally or vertically the Intimus 6-LCR In-Wall Home Theater Speaker showers the listener with immersive sound.

Key Features:
Dual 6.5" long-throw, woven-fiberglass, dual-voice coil woofers
1" aimable audiophile grade silk-dome tweeter
Separate bass and treble equalization switches
Ten year warranty
30-Day No-Risk In-Home Audition™

Easy DIY In-Wall Installation
The Intimus 6-LCR speaker ships with gold-plated, spring loaded binding posts enabling easy, do-it-yourself installation. The paintable frame and perforated, aluminum grill allows the customization of the 6-LCR to harmonize with room decor. In-wall and in-ceiling speakers are a permanent part of the home and Aperion has ensured long lasting durability with high-impact, UV resistant ABS speaker frames. All the Aperion architectural speakers, including the recently launched Intimus 6-IW In-Wall and 6-IC In-Ceiling speakers, include an installation template, instructions, and a dog ear clip drywall mounting system.

5/27/2009 - Aperion Audio Introduces New In-Wall and In-Ceiling
Speakers Offering High End Features at a Competitive Price

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

APERION AUDIO INTRODUCES NEW IN-WALL AND IN-CEILING SPEAKERS OFFERING HIGH END FEATURES AT A COMPETITIVE PRICE

The New Intimus 6-IW In-Wall and 6-IC In-Ceiling Speakers give discriminating listeners more control over sound and esthetics

Portland, OR, May 27, 2009 - Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer manufacturer of award-winning home audio and home theater speakers, this week announced enhanced versions of their in-wall and in-ceiling speakers which include aimable audiophile grade silk-dome tweeters, and bass and treble adjustment switches - one of the features normally found only with more expensive in-wall and in-ceiling speakers. The new Aperion architectural speakers are voiced to blend seamlessly with the rest of the Intimus line of award-winning speakers.

"Our new line of in-wall and in-ceiling speakers are an effective solution to the challenge of achieving excellence in sound for the music and movie lover, while also satisfying the interior design conscious who enjoy the invisibility of speakers set into the wall or ceiling," says Aperion Product Development Lead, Mike Hopkins.

Aperion's Lead Audio Speaker Engineer, Ken Humphreys, notes that once installed, an in-wall or in-ceiling speaker is fixed at a specific point in a room, making adjustments difficult. "The advantage of aimable tweeters for in-wall speakers is that the directional treble frequencies can either be aimed into the listening area for most applications or away from the listening area in order to get a more diffuse, ambient sound that is desirable in surround sound use. And since this type of speaker may or may not get placed near bass-boosting side-walls, we felt it was important to have a bass adjusting feature. From a design point of view, this is fairly hard to do as it requires the woofer to have two voice coils, one of them dedicated to the bass adjusting signal from a separate section on the crossover," says Humphreys.

The Aperion Audio Intimus In-Wall and In-Ceiling Speakers As the newest speakers in Aperion Audio's acclaimed Intimus line, the 6-IW and 6-IC are not only built for visual assimilation in any home, but also produce fantastic, immersive sound with high-end features. In addition to aimable tweeters, the Intimus 6-IC In-Ceiling speaker features an angled woofer which may be pointed toward the "sweet spot" during installation.

Both Include:

6.5" high performance woven-fiberglass dual-voice coil woofer
Aimable silk-dome tweeter for direct high frequency control
Bass and treble adjustment switches
Paintable frame and grill to match any decor
Installation templates and easy instructions

The Aperion Advantage
Aperion was the first in their industry to offer free shipping both ways with their Risk Free 30-Day In-Home Audition™, a One-Year Full-Price Trade-Up Program, and an unmatched 10-Year Warranty (3 years on amplifiers). Plus, because Aperion is headquartered in Oregon, there is never any sales tax.

Pricing and Availability
Both the Aperion Intimus 6-IC In-Ceiling Speaker and Intimus 6-IW In-Wall Speaker are now available at AperionAudio.com, or at Aperion's showroom at 18151 SW Boones Ferry Road in Portland, Oregon, and retail for $149. (Prices always include free shipping.)

4/3/2009 - New Aperion Audio® Bravus™ 8A Subwoofer Delivers High Performance to Value Conscious Consumers

Aperion Audio “Once Again Raises the Bar” with the Release of the Bravus 8A Subwoofer by Offering a $999 Entry-Level 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System

Portland, OR, April 3, 2009 – Aperion Audio, a direct-to-consumer manufacturer of award-winning home audio and home theater speakers, this week announced its newest addition to the Bravus line of subwoofers, the Bravus 8A. The Bravus 8A Subwoofer combines the build quality of the Bravus “D” series subwoofers with a price point that brings audiophile quality within reach of a broader range of speaker buyers.

Aperion Bravus 8A Subwoofer Quality and Value
“The 8A represents an exceptional build, design and sound quality at an amazing price. Aperion once again raises the bar for a versatile, entry level compact subwoofer/satellite home theater speaker system,” said Mike Hopkins, Product Development Lead at Aperion Audio.

With both performance and value in mind, the new Bravus 8A features an 8” high-excursion custom aluminum driver, (the same award-winning driver as the Bravus “D” series), a 100 watt class A/B amplifier, and a 40-160Hz customizable crossover, resulting in a full, robust sound which exceeds the demanding requirements of serious music and movie fans at a price that fits the current economic climate.

$999 5.1 Home Theater Speaker System
“We were challenged to bring Aperion quality to a 5.1 system below $1,000. I'm excited that we pulled it off by featuring the Bravus 8A Subwoofer in the Aperion Intimus 4B Harmony SA System,” said Ken Humphreys, Lead Audio Speaker Engineer at Aperion Audio.

In addition to the Bravus 8A Subwoofer, the Intimus 4B Harmony SA system includes four compact Intimus 4B Satellite Speakers, and the Intimus 4C Center Channel Speaker, both of which received high marks in recent CNET and Audioholics reviews.

Furniture-Grade Finish
All Aperion speakers are beautifully finished in either real cherry wood or high gloss piano black lacquer at a quality that you would expect to see only in products twice the price and which “customers and reviewers alike describe as absolutely gorgeous,” said Hopkins.

The Aperion Advantage
Purchasing Aperion Audio speakers represents a better investment than typical consumer goods, which depreciate the moment they are delivered, because Aperion offers value conscious shoppers a One-Year Full-Price Trade-Up Program, and an unmatched 10-Year Warranty (3 years on amplifiers). Aperion was the first in their industry to offer free shipping both ways with their Risk Free 30-Day In-Home Audition™, and Aperion’s “Home Theater Gurus” are available to assist those in the market for audio speakers from the decision making process through lifetime technical support. Plus, because Aperion is headquartered in Oregon, there is never any sales tax.

Pricing and Availability
The $319 Aperion Bravus 8A Subwoofer and the $999 Intimus 4B Harmony SA home theater speaker system are both available at AperionAudio.com, or at our showroom at 18151 SW Boones Ferry Road in Portland, Oregon. (Prices always include free shipping.)

“We’re very excited about this honor from Audioholics, as their Consumer Excellence Awards have become an indicator of the products which set the standard for the coming year.” said Ken Humphreys, Lead Audio Speaker Engineer at Aperion Audio. “The fact that, in addition to quality, Audioholics recognizes the great value of Aperion home theater and home audio products is especially gratifying for us, as one of our primary goals is to sensibly harness the best speaker technology in order to bring a high quality listening experience to those we identify with – folks who work hard for a living and need to balance the joy of a captivating music or home theater experience with other priorities in life.”

In addition to the Consumer Excellence Award, Aperion’s Intimus 6T-DB Hybrid XD Speaker System has been given a close to perfect score (4.5/5 for performance, and a 5/5 for value) in a review published on the Audioholics.com Website on March 11, 2009.

Among the features praised in the review were the cohesiveness of the system which aptly handles “lots of output without compressing the top end or losing control over the bottom frequencies”, and the fact that Aperion offers a 30 day, money back guarantee, free shipping both ways, a one-year full price trade-up program, and includes a generous 10-year warranty. The reviewer, Clint DeBoer of Audioholics, again emphasized “the exceptional value with incredible build quality that surpasses most of their peers in the marketplace.”

7/21/2008 - Aperion Audio® Announces the 4T Tower Speaker

Portland, OR – July 21, 2008 – Aperion Audio, a manufacturer and direct seller of home theater loudspeakers and subwoofers, announces the launch of the Intimus 4T, our new two-way tower speaker featuring dual 4” woven fiberglass composite mid-woofers and our audiophile grade 1” silk dome tweeter. The 4T is the newest model in our completely redesigned Intimus line. Created as a companion to our incredibly popular 4B bookshelf speakers, the new 4T’s offer amazing performance in a very compact package.

"We listened to our customers and looked at opportunities in the market. Customers asked for small, high performance tower speakers for their new flat panel TV’s because the options are incredibly limited.” says CEO Winthrop Jeanfreau. “People are forced to choose between low-end home theater in a box products or very expensive specialty speakers. We believe the 4T’s are a category killer. They offer all the performance of the specialty brands at less than half the cost, so they are a tremendous value.” The new Intimus 4T’s combine dual 4” woven fiberglass composite mid-woofers with our audiophile grade 1” silk dome tweeter to deliver tremendous bass along with incredible clarity and detail. Because the 4T’s are so small, they offer easy placement in virtually any room. In addition to their amazing sonic performance, the new 4T’s are available in both gloss black and real cherry furniture grade finishes, along with a new contemporary design aesthetic that will be the envy of the neighborhood.

The 4T’s are a great choice for main speakers in small to medium sized rooms, or they can be used as surrounds as part of a larger system since they are voice matched to the rest of the Intimus line. The new Intimus 4T’s are available directly from aperionaudio.com for $650/pair.

Intimus 4T Features:
Powerful 2-Way Tower Design in a Practical Size
First, we started with our award winning 4B bookshelf speaker. Then we extended the height of its svelte and attractive profile and added another of our custom designed 4” mid-woofers to give it extended bass performance.

1" Audiophile-Grade Silk-Dome Tweeter
All Intimus speakers feature our 1-inch, audiophile-grade, silk dome tweeter that has been engineered for optimal sonic performance, even at the highest volume levels. The smooth sound of our silk tweeter ensures a warm, natural sound with no harsh aftertaste. This new tweeter features a unique system of venting to a rear chamber that employs multiple rear vents outside the neodymium magnet instead of the traditional design that uses a single vent through the magnet’s center. This new design allows the magnet to remain fully intact, resulting in a stronger motor structure with a lower resonant frequency, smooth response, and an amazingly pure, natural, and distortion free sound. This tweeter is the high point of our speaker... literally.

Dual 4” Woven-Fiberglass Mid-woofers
Our custom 4" woven-fiberglass mid-woofers make music, movies and games come to life. The cones are made of strong and lightweight woven fiberglass composite, offering super fast and accurate response. These magnetically shielded drivers sport a solid cast aluminum frame, heavy rubber surround and extra-long excursion – ensuring superior bass performance for years to come.

Furniture-Grade Finish
Each of our speakers is beautifully finished in either real cherry wood or high gloss piano black lacquer, allowing them to effortlessly blend into your decor. This first-rate cabinetry unites the acoustic qualities of only the most expensive loudspeakers with a furniture-grade finish so handsome your coffee table will be jealous.

Anti-Resonant Cabinet
Every Intimus speaker cabinet is made of rock solid high density fiberboard (HDF) to eliminate unwanted cabinet vibrations, effectively muting the walls of the speaker, ensuring that the only voice you hear is coming from your CD or DVD.

Magnetic Shielding
All Aperion speakers are magnetically shielded so that they can be placed near any video monitor, ensuring a “rainbow free” video experience.

5-Way Gold-Plated Binding Posts
All Aperion speakers feature 5-way gold plated binding posts for use with banana plugs, bare wire, round pins, flat pins or spades. The gold plating resists corrosion and provides the best possible connection to your receiver.

Acoustically Transparent Grille
An acoustically transparent grille is included with each speaker to protect the drivers from inquisitive kids and pets. The grille cloth is sonically invisible so speaker performance isn’t compromised.

Floor Spikes and Footers
Included with each 4T speaker is a set of floor spikes and footers. The spikes offer tighter bass by decoupling the cabinet from the floor. The included footers allow the spikes to be used without damaging hardwood, or other hard floor surfaces.

Ten Year Limited Warranty
All Aperion Speakers are covered by one of the best warranties in the audio industry. We offer a completely transferable ten year no-nonsense warranty on all of our speakers.

Totally Risk-Free In-Home Audition®
All Aperion Audio products are sold direct and include the Totally Risk- Free In-Home Audition that allows every customer to audition the speakers in the space in which they will be used. Aperion Audio provides free shipping both ways, free technical support with live chat, email, and toll-free calls, a free customer care kit including an SPL meter (with qualifying 5.1 system purchase) to properly calibrate the system, a comprehensive ten year limited warranty, and a full-value one-year trade up program.

6/24/2008 - Introducing Bravus™ Subwoofers by Aperion Audio®

Small, high-performance subwoofers designed shake your room and enhance your décor without breaking the bank.

Aperion Audio, a manufacturer and direct seller of home theater loudspeakers and subwoofers, heralds the launch of Bravus, its completely new line of home entertainment subwoofers. The new line is the result of over a year’s worth of research and development. Designed to be both small and powerful, the new Bravus subwoofers offer amazing bass performance without dominating your room with size.

"We listened to our customers and did extensive market research. Our Intimus subwoofers offered great value but our customers asked for more features and smaller cabinets with beautiful design aesthetics” says CEO Winthrop Jeanfreau. “We believe we hit the sweet spot with Bravus. By using dual drivers and BASH® amplifiers we were able to squeeze an incredible amount of performance out of a small enclosure.”

The new Bravus line features three models - the 8D, 10D & 12D.

Bravus 8D – Dual 8” Active Drivers, 150 Watt BASH® Amplifier
Coming in at just over one cubic foot, this compact subwoofer is small enough to fit anywhere, yet packs a punch. It features dual 8” active drivers and 150 watts of digital power, the 8D will fill a small to medium sized room with powerful, articulate bass.

Bravus 10D - Dual 10” Active Drivers, 300 Watt BASH® Amplifier
The 10D represents the perfect combination of size and performance. The 10D’s dual 10” drivers offer the performance of a 12” subwoofer but they are squeezed into a small cabinet so they’re the perfect fit in any medium to large room. Add 300 watts of digital power and you’ve got a sub that takes music and movies to amazing new highs and LOWS.

Bravus 12D - Dual 12” Active Drivers, 500 Watt BASH® Amplifier
The 12D is the perfect choice for big rooms. It offers deep, loud bass coupled with musical accuracy. The dual 12” drivers and 500 watts of digital power in the Bravus 12D deliver expansive bass that must be heard and felt to be believed. Prepare to be moved - quite literally.

Designed with performance and value in mind, all Bravus subwoofers include the following features.

Dual High-Excursion Custom Aluminum Drivers
All Bravus subwoofers are designed with dual custom aluminum drivers for efficient high-performance. Aluminum offers the perfect blend of strength and mass to keep the BASH® digital amp operating efficiently. Couple this with a heavy duty rubber surround and a precision motor structure for bass that is deep and linear.

BASH® Digital Power Amplifier
Bravus is backed by the best in the business. BASH® has taken the best of Class D and Class AB amplification and created a new class of its own. By combining a fast response power converter with a linear amplifier, you get the uncompromising sonic performance of class AB analog amp with the unequaled efficiency of a class D digital amp. Toss in a customizable parametric EQ, crossover bypass, and a host of other features to create the perfect recipe for high performance and value.

Backlit Digital Display with Included Remote Control
All Bravus subwoofers come with a remote control and backlit digital display. With three handy buttons for pre-sets and easy access to all the other functions of the subwoofer, you have complete control from the comfort of your couch.

Fully Customizable Parametric EQ with Crossover Bypass
Every room is different and every person is unique, so all Bravus subwoofers feature a fully customizable Parametric EQ that allows the subwoofer to be completely customized to individual preferences. Or if you prefer, bypass the internal crossover entirely and control the bass with your receiver or pre-amp.

Customizable Pre-Set modes for Movies, Music & Games
Right out of the box, Bravus is optimized to get the most out of your passions. If that's not enough, it's ready to customize to specific tastes. The presets can be modified for different music or movie genres. Audiophiles can set one up for classic rock, one for classical and one for jazz. Movie buffs can use them for action, drama and comedy or any other combination.

Detachable Power Cord w/ Switchable Voltage
It’s easy to upgrade your cord or take your subwoofer on the road. No matter if you're in Los Angeles or Lisbon, Bravus subs are easily switched between 110V and 220V power. Just plug in the correct cord, switch the voltage and enjoy.

Line Level Inputs
Every Bravus subwoofer comes standard with an LFE line level input that connects to any receiver’s subwoofer pre-out. Or, if there’s no sub-out connection, use the left and right low level inputs with the low level outputs from your pre-amp or receiver.

High Level Inputs
No low level outputs on your receiver or pre-amp? No need to worry. Simply use the left and right speaker level inputs to make setup a snap.

Small Internally Braced HDF Sealed Enclosure
Powerful bass needs a sturdy cabinet. Every Bravus subwoofer is built out of strong HDF and internally braced to virtually eliminate cabinet vibration.

Timeless Design & Furniture-Grade Finish
Each of our Bravus subwoofers features a timeless design aesthetic and is beautifully finished in either real cherry wood or high gloss piano black lacquer, allowing them to effortlessly blend into your decor. This first-rate cabinetry unites the acoustic qualities of only the most expensive subwoofers with a furniture-grade finish so handsome your coffee table will be jealous.

Leveling Floor Spikes and Footers
Included with each Bravus subwoofer is a set of metal floor spikes with footers and a set of rubber feet. Use the metal spikes on carpet for tighter bass by decoupling the sub from the floor. For hard floors, use the footers with the metal spikes or use the included rubber feet to improve bass response and protect your surfaces from scratches or dents.

Acoustically Transparent Grille
An acoustically transparent grille is included with each subwoofer to protect the drivers from inquisitive kids and pets. The grille cloth is sonically invisible so subwoofer performance isn’t compromised.

Comprehensive Limited Warranty
All Aperion subwoofers are covered by one of the best warranties in the audio industry. We offer a completely transferable no-nonsense warranty on all of our subwoofers that covers drivers and cabinets for ten years and amplifiers for three years.

6/1/2006 - Aperion Audio Announces The Intimus 533-T Tower Speaker

The Ideal Blend of Size, Price and Performance

LOS ANGELES, CA – June 1, 2006 – Aperion Audio, the first audio company to provide a 30-Day Totally Risk-Free In-Home Auditiontm, announced the introduction of their new Intimus 533-T Tower Speaker. Designed to deliver beautiful music and dramatic theatrical sound with authority while taking up no more space than a bookshelf speaker on a stand, the 533-T will debut at the Primedia Home Entertainment Expo, in the Aperion Audio suite 424. The 533-T is a powerful speaker with a small footprint for $750 per pair – enabling Aperion’s customers to build an attractive and inspiring system that won’t break the bank or offend their interior designers.

“The new 533-T tower speaker is a design that Aperion has been working on for quite a while now, and we believe it has the potential to become our best selling product.” said Robert Holo, head of product development for Aperion Audio. “It has very tasteful lines, and its unobtrusive size will make a lot of people happy. The 533-T excels at voices and acoustic music, but make no mistake – this baby can rock. It is an incredibly fit and graceful athlete of a speaker, and I could not possibly be happier with how it turned out. Ken [Humphreys, Aperion Audio’s Sr. Design Engineer] really outdid himself on this one.”

The 533-T also boasts the award-winning features of the Intimus 5 Series -- the silk-dome tweeter, the mineral-filled polypropylene 5.25” midrange, Aperion Audio’s HD-X3tm crossover technology, and much more. Additionally, all Aperion 5 series speakers are constructed out of 1” HDF cabinetry to minimize resonance and come in two furniture-grade finishes – this allows the 533-T to blend in with any décor.

Features of the Intimus 533-T Tower Speaker
Powerful 2.5-Way Tower Design in a Practical Size

First, Aperion started with their award winning best-seller, the Aperion Audio 532 bookshelf speaker. Next, they extended the height of its trim and attractive profile. Finally, they added another custom designed 5.25” woofer to give it extra punch. The reason it’s called a “2.5” way is that the second woofer is dedicated to enhancing bass frequencies and rounding out the low end response. This gives the 533-T the graceful voice of a bookshelf speaker with the sonic authority of a tower speaker.

1" Audiophile-Grade Silk-Dome Tweeter
A silk diaphragm means that this speaker sings. Silk gives remarkable detail, but also plays smooth and natural. Aperion Audio’s audiophile- grade 1-inch tweeter features ferrofluid cooling for high power handling and smooth response and a high quality heat sink, which means less distortion. Along with magnetic shielding, and a linear response faceplate for better horizontal dispersion, this tweeter is the high point of the speaker. Literally.

Mineral-Filled Polypropylene 5.25” Midrange
Aperion Audio’s 5.25” mid-woofer is the heart, soul and voice of the 533 -T loudspeaker. The cone is made of a mineral-filled polypropylene material which provides resonance dampening and allows it to handle the demands of higher midrange frequencies. The loving embrace of a butyl rubber surround enables a compliant yet well-damped suspension. Last but certainly not least, the magnetically shielded driver boasts a solid polymer frame, super flat frequency response, and a deep commitment to keep you amazed for years to come. If this all sounds like Greek to you, just know this – your ears will be delighted, and the pleasure centers of your brain will rejoice.

Anti-Resonant Cabinet
Each 533-T speaker is made of rock solid 1" thick High Density Fiberboard (HDF) to eliminate unwanted resonances within the cabinet. Each speaker is finished in either real cherry wood or high gloss black lacquer finish. This first-rate cabinetry unites the acoustic-damping qualities of only the most expensive loudspeakers with a furniture-grade finish so handsome your coffee table will be jealous.

HD-X3™ Impedance Leveling Crossover Technology
Patent pending HD-X3™ crossover technology levels the impedance load across the entire frequency range creating a remarkably flat frequency response and eliminating the detrimental effects of resistance introduced by long runs of speaker wire.

Video Shielding
All drivers in the 533-T Speaker are magnetically shielded to protect video monitors from magnetic interferences, allowing placement on or near viewing devices.

5-Way Gold-Plated Binding Posts
Each 5-Series Speaker comes standard with audiophile quality gold-plated five-way binding posts, and accepts banana plugs (4mm), spades (3/8"), pins or bare wire to provide pure signal transfer and ultimate connection flexibility.

Floor Spikes and Footers
Included with each 533-T is a set of brass floor spikes and footers. The spikes raise the tower off the floor, giving you tighter bass by de- coupling the cabinet from the floor. Footers can be added for hard-floor surfaces so the spikes won’t scratch your floors.

Acoustically Transparent Grille
An acoustically transparent grille is included with each speaker to protect the drivers from inquisitive kids and pets. The grille cloth is sonically invisible so speaker performance isn’t compromised.

Availability
Pre-orders for the Intimus 533-T Center Channel Speaker will be accepted at the show and online at www.aperionaudio.com for delivery in August 2006.

Designed to deliver the dramatic impact of theater sound in the comfort of your own home, Aperion Audio is featuring its new 634-VAC center channel at the 2006 Home Entertainment Show at the Los Angeles Sheraton Gateway Hotel from June 1st - 4 th in suite #424.

Until now, center channel placement had a significant effect on sound quality, and nearly all center channels under $1,000 were design compromises. Aperion’s VoiceRight tm adjustable crossover technology lets the 634-VAC adapt to its placement in your home theater by compensating for the effects of reflected sound off of large screen TVs and A/V cabinetry. In other words, whether it’s on a stand, in a cabinet, or on your TV -- VoiceRight tm makes every seat in the house perfect. The 634- VAC uses the vertical array design of their award winning 533-VAC along with HD-X3 “This is the center channel for people who want the ultimate ‘you are there’ theater experience,” said Aperion Audio CEO Win Jeanfreau, “Essentially, we turned one of our top-of-the line 633-T tower speakers on its side, added our new custom-designed midrange, and dramatically expanded the soundstage. Plus, our new Voiceright™ adjustable crossover technology redefines flexibility, giving our customers the pinnacle of home theater sound.”

The 634-VAC also boasts the award-winning features of the Intimus 6 Series -- the silk-dome tweeter, custom woven carbon-fiber 6.5” woofers, the mineral-filled polypropylene 5.25” midrange, Aperion Audio’s HD-X3

Features of the Intimus 634-VAC Center Channel Speaker:

Vertical Array Design
With a vertical array center channel, off-axis performance is optimized for crisp, unspoiled dialogue and midrange drop out is officially a thing of the past.

VoiceRight™ Adjustable Crossover Technology
Subtle nuances in detail make all the difference between a merely a “good home theater” and an “amazing theater experience”. The 634-VAC employs VoiceRight™ technology, which compensates for the effects of reflected sound off of large screen TVs and cabinetry. This allows you to place the 634-VAC where it fits your room, and frees you from the worries of fiddling around with center channel placement. Set it down, flip the switch and “you ARE there.”

Aperion Audio ’s custom 5.25” mid-woofer is the voice of the 634-VAC loudspeaker. The cone is made of a mineral-filled polypropylene which provides resonance dampening and allows it to handle the demands of higher midrange frequencies.

Dual Custom Designed Long-Throw Woven Carbon Fiber 6.5” Woofers
Aperion Audio ’s custom 6.5” woofer is the soul of our 634-VAC speaker. The woofer is made of a strong and lightweight woven carbon fiber cone offering a super fast and accurate response. The magnetically shielded driver sports a solid metal frame, heavy rubber surround and extra-long excursion resulting in superior low bass extension.

Anti-Resonant Cabinet
Each 6-Series Speaker is made of 1" thick high-density fiberboard (HDF) to eliminate unwanted resonance and is finished in real cherry wood or high-gloss black lacquer. This first-rate cabinetry unites the acoustic- damping qualities of much more expensive loudspeakers with a furniture- grade finish so handsome your coffee table will be jealous.

Video Shielding
All drivers in the 634-VAC Speaker are magnetically shielded to protect video monitors from magnetic interferences, allowing placement on or near viewing devices.

HD-X3™ Impedance Leveling Crossover Technology
Patent pending HD-X3™ crossover technology levels the impedance load across the entire frequency range, creating a remarkably flat frequency response and eliminating the detrimental effects of resistance introduced by long runs of speaker wire.

5-Way Gold-Plated Binding Posts
Each 6-Series Speaker comes standard with audiophile quality gold-plated five-way binding posts, and accepts banana plugs (4mm), spades (3/8"), pins or bare wire to provide pure signal transfer and ultimate connection flexibility.

Acoustically Transparent Grille
An acoustically transparent grille is included with each speaker to protect the drivers from inquisitive kids and pets. The grille cloth is sonically invisible so speaker performance isn’t compromised.

6/1/2006 - Aperion Audio Announces New Line of High Performance Speaker Wire and Cable

Extraordinary Sound At An Ordinary Price

LOS ANGELES, CA – June 1, 2006 – Aperion Audio, the first audio company to provide a 30-Day Totally Risk-Free In-Home Audition tm, has announced their new line of High Performance Speaker Wire and Cable. Designed to deliver stellar performance without dipping into your child’s college fund, Aperion Audio’s wire and cabling will be on display and in-use at the Home Entertainment Expo, in the Aperion Audio suite 424.

“There are no shortcuts to building customer loyalty,” said Aperion CEO Win Jeanfreu, “Simply put, if we can’t improve quality and offer a better price, we won’t launch the product. That is central to who we are and how we earn the trust of our customers. Aperion speaker cable is a great example of this principle. It is a true 12 gauge high performance speaker cable for about half the price of the leading 12 gauge cable.”

Aperion Audio Cable Line Includes:

Aperion Audio High Performance Speaker Cable
Aperion’s high performance speaker wire features a thick 12 gauge construction for tightly controlled, deep bass. The fine strand, oxygen- free copper core defines every detail with amazing clarity -- bringing out the most subtle nuances in music and movies. In addition, the polarity labeled PVC jacket defines flexibility as it fits into every nook and cranny and round and square ribbing makes installation a snap.

Aperion Audio High Performance Subwoofer Cable
Aperion Audio ’s subwoofer cable was created to eliminate loose connections, unwanted noise and signal shielding interference. It is constructed using gold plated, slotted RCA connectors to ensure a tight fit and pure signal transfer, then double shielded with an aluminum foil shield , and a braided pure copper shield -- thus eliminating digital emissions. The result is pure, powerful , and articulate bass.

Aperion Audio High Performance “Y” Adapter
Most AV receivers come with a single sub output, while most powered subwoofers come equipped with left & right inputs. Aperion met this problem in the middle with a “Y” adapter for both the left and right subwoofer input, increasing the subwoofer bass output by up to 3dB. This means more bass with the same power – a winning combination.

Aperion Audio High Performance Digital Coax Cable
The perfect choice for connecting your DVD player to your receiver, Aperion’s new double shielded digital coax cable makes movies come to life. Dual pure copper braided shields ensure the signal gets from the source without interference. The gold plated slotted RCA connectors guarantee a secure fit and pure signal transfer -- so music and movies will always sound outstanding. This cable also works great as an analog interconnect so you can use them to upgrade your entire system.

Aperion Audio High Performance Banana Plugs
Aperion High Performance Banana Plugs are ruggedly built with gold plating to ensure pure signal transfer. The crimped connection design provides a secure fit with any banana jack or 5-way binding post, and the unique two piece design incorporates dual opposing set screws that allow the wire and plug to become one, protecting the connection from oxidation. Red and black indicator stripes ensure polarity matching for trouble free installation the first time, and every time. They are the perfect companion alongside Aperion high performance wire in a home theater or audio system.

Aperion Audio also offers High Performance Wire & Cable kits that contain everything a customer needs to get their 5.1, or extended surround sound system up and running when their speakers arrive at their home.

Aperion Audio’s commitment to reducing its environmental footprint shows through in the construction and manufacturing of the High Performance Speaker Wire and Cables. The complete line is entirely RoHS compliant, so their customers can feel good in the knowledge that their purchase has a reduced environmental impact.

Because the cables are from Aperion Audio, they deliver premium performance without the premium price. Best of all, each and every Aperion cable carries a lifetime limited warranty, giving them long- lasting value.

5/20/2004 - Power Towers Erected at HE Show

Aperion erects sleek power towers at HE Show

Elegant solution for listeners constrained by space or their own aesthetics

NEW YORK CITY (May 20, 2004)—Aperion’s new Intimus Power Tower speaker (522D-PT) is a full range speaker that merges the lush imaging of the acclaimed Intimus bookshelf speaker with the full-bodied bass response of a powered subwoofer built into the base of the tower.

“It’s a complete audio solution for someone with space constraints—like a New York apartment—or who just wants to hear more and see less,” says Aperion CEO Winthrop Jeanfreau.

Designed for both home theater and music applications, the full range speaker is engineered with the ideal crossover frequency and slope for the sub to create a seamless blend between the subwoofer, midrange and tweeter.

The power tower is also outfitted with the patented DiAural Crossover for immense sound staging and crystal clear imaging. The result is exquisite detail, coherent blending, total harmonic integrity and smooth frequency response from 30Hz to 20kHz.

The 5.25” midrange and 1” tweeter are both powered by you’re A/V receiver while the built-in 150-watt amplifier powers the 8” sub. The dual subwoofers make placement and setup a no-brainer. This integrated solution gives listeners the choice to eliminate a stand-alone sub or to add another sub to wake the neighbors on the next block.

Aperion speakers, consistently lauded for remarkable quality in their price category, are constructed with rock solid 1’’ thick high-density fiberboard with a furniture-grade real cherry wood or high gloss black painted finish.

5/20/2004 - New Vertical Array Center Channel Debuts

New center channel speaker stands up and sings
Aperion’s vertical array solution debuts at NYC H.E. Show

NEW YORK CITY (May 20, 2004)— Upstaging speakers costing twice as much, Aperion Audio’s Vertical Array Center Channel (522D-VAC) speaker was unveiled at the Home Entertainment Show, May 20.

This latest addition to the acclaimed Intimus line brings solid engineering and remarkable component quality to bear on mid-range beaming problems inherent in common center channel designs.

The 522D-VAC makes clever use of centrally located, vertically arrayed tweeter and 4” midrange drivers to overcome the lack of dispersion typical of center channel speakers.

“We engineered the 522D-VAC to expand the center channel’s optimal listening zone horizontally across the listening area,” explains Aperion’s Acoustical Engineer Ken Humphreys. “A midrange driver unburdens the woofers of the troublesome frequencies on the low end. Then, competing higher frequencies are redirected vertically where listeners are less likely to encounter them.”

The 522D-VAC components include a 5.25” midrange woofer, a 4” midrange and 1” ferrofluid-filled dome tweeter—all magnetically shielded. Recommended power from 50 to 200 watts; frequency response, 80hz to 18Khz; nominal speaker impedance, 6-8 ohms.

Aperion speakers, consistently lauded for remarkable quality in their price category, are constructed with rock solid 1’’ thick high-density fiberboard with a furniture-grade real cherry wood or high gloss black painted finish.

Aperion Audio manufactures and sells speakers directly, online with a risk-free, 30-day audition. Aperion is setting a new standard for customer service, online or off, with smart audio information resources and unmatched customer support before, after—or regardless of—a purchase.

May, 2001 - Edgeaudio Becomes Aperion Audio

EdgeAudio Changes Name To Aperion Audio And Introduces A New Generation Of Home Theater Speakers

TIGARD, OR, May 22, 2001 — EdgeAudio, Inc., a manufacturer of critically -acclaimed home theater speaker systems sold exclusively via the Internet, is changing its name to Aperion Audio. The name change is in response to growing international demand for the company’s products, which called for the use of a brand name that could be registered worldwide. In addition, the company announced a new generation of speakers, featuring improved versions of current models and the introduction of a new subwoofer.

“We sell our products via the Internet, and so we have customers from around the world. We’re eager to expand that business, but to effectively market our products internationally we need a name that is exclusively ours throughout the world,” explained Win Jeanfreau, founder and President. “Our new name is based on the Latin word meaning to reveal or make clear, and so reflects our approach to speaker design — to produce products that allow us to hear music and movie soundtracks the way their creators intended.”

The name change becomes effective August 3, when a redesigned company website will debut at www.aperionaudio.com. Visitors to the EdgeAudio website (www.edgeaudio.com) will be automatically directed to the new address.

The name change coincides with other developments at Aperion Audio. The company recently more than doubled its production capacity to meet the strong demand for its speakers. In addition, all new Aperion Audio speakers will employ a new dual composition cabinet design.

that offers both sonic and aesthetic improvements. The enclosure interiors will be built using one-inch high density fiberboard (HDF), which is heavier and more uniform in density than wood or other commonly used materials. This lessens cabinet vibration and sonic distortion, resulting in smoother frequency response. Cabinet exteriors will be made of cherry hardwood stained to a medium cherry furniture-grade finish.

The first all-new product to feature the new cabinet design will be an eight-inch powered subwoofer, featuring a 150-watt amplifier, two eight- inch passive radiators and a cube-shaped cabinet measuring less than one cubic foot. Changes to the current line include an upgraded version of the company’s award-winning 12-inch powered subwoofer, now incorporating the dual composition cabinet and a new 250-watt amplifier with a variable crossover. In addition, the 502D satellite speakers, which use the patented DiAural® crossover technology, will feature the new enclosure design, with one-inch-thick walls versus the original 3/4-inch cabinet for even more rigidity and better performance.

“We have a new name and a new generation of speakers, but what hasn’t changed is our commitment to offer the very best speakers for the price on the planet, while treating our customers like family,” said Jeanfreau.

Founded in 1999 as EdgeAudio, Inc., Aperion Audio is based in Tigard, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. The company’s products are sold exclusively through the Internet via Aperion Audio’s own website and selected other online merchants, including Amazon.com and eCost.com. The company’s line of home theater speakers includes satellite speakers that feature patented DiAural® circuitry in place of a conventional crossover to produce a phase-coherent sound, free of the distortion and sonic artifacts created by traditional crossovers.

February, 2001 - Perfect Vision Editor's Choice Award

EDGEAUDIO™EARNS “EDITORS’ CHOICE” AWARD FROM THE PERFECT VISION

TIGARD, OR, February 27, 2001 — Among the recently announced winners in the first annual The Perfect Vision Editors’ Choice Awards was the EdgeAudio™ SW12/320 powered subwoofer, named by the magazine as the best subwoofer for under $750.

The awards, from one of the leading home theater enthusiast publications, are given to products that are standouts in their respective categories. The winners, according to the publication, were selected “because of their exceptional performance, value, or technological innovation—or because of a blend of these virtues.” In naming the EdgeAudio SW12/320 an award winner, the publication’s editors cited reviewer Tom Miller’s description of the unit as “the gem of the system” in his review of a complete EdgeAudio 5.1-channel speaker system, and his observation that the subwoofer produces “a big juicy bass sound with just enough heft to convincingly mimic true low bass.” The award winners were announced in the March/April 2001 issue of The Perfect Vision (Issue #35, www.theperfectvision.com).

The EdgeAudio SW-12/320 powered subwoofer is a front firing design with 320 watts of power driving a 12-inch long-throw woofer. The driver is housed in a 1-inch thick cabinet in a choice of hardwood finishes. Capable of reproducing the lower octaves with accuracy, power and definition, the sub can load a large listening room with tremendous force to deliver the realism that makes for great movie viewing. It has both high-level and line-level inputs, and a variable crossover. Frequency response is 28-120Hz ±3dB and rated sensitivity is 90.8 dB. Crossed over at the recommended 85Hz, the SW-12/320 integrates seamlessly with the 502D satellite speakers. The SW-12/320 measures 20 (H) X 15 (W) X 20 (D) inches and weighs 65 to 72 lbs. (varies by type of wood).

Available exclusively through the Internet at www.edgeaudio.comand other selected online merchants, including Amazon.com and eCost.com the EdgeAudio line also includes the 502D Series satellite speakers and an eight-inch, 150-watt powered subwoofer, the SW8/150. Founded in 1999, EdgeAudio, Inc. is based in Tigard, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. January, 2001 - New Benchmark For Performance & Value

EDGEAUDIO SETS NEW BENCHMARK FOR PERFORMANCE VALUE IN HOME THEATER SPEAKERS

Company offers patented DiAural® technology, beautifully finished cabinets and savings via Internet direct sales strategy. Speakers are available at www.edgeaudio.com, Amazon.com and other selected online merchants, with 30-day money-back guarantee.

LAS VEGAS, January 6, 2001 — The recent introduction of the EdgeAudio™ line of speakers established a new benchmark for value in home theater speakers, combining revolutionary DiAural® technology with top-quality drivers and solid hardwood cabinets, and offering them for far less than speakers offering comparable performance and construction.

Available exclusively through the Internet at www.edgeaudio.comand other selected online merchants, including Amazon.com, the EdgeAudio line includes the 502D Series satellite speakers and two powered subwoofers — the 12-inch 320-watt SW-12/320 and the eight-inch SW8/150. The satellites — a left/right version for main and surround channels and a center version — feature patented DiAural circuitry in place of a conventional crossover to produce a phase-coherent sound, free of the distortion and sonic artifacts created by traditional crossovers. The satellites employ high quality Danish-made Vifa™ drivers, and all EdgeAudio speakers feature cabinets that combine desirable acoustic properties with a rich, furniture-quality finish. Speakers are available in medium cherry or dark walnut finishes. Color cabinets with a high-gloss acrylic finish will soon be offered as well.

EdgeAudio 502D Two-Way Satellite Speaker
The EdgeAudio 502D-LR satellite and 502D-C center speaker feature a Vifa 5-1/4-inch mid-woofer and a Vifa one-inch soft dome tweeter coupled by a DiAural circuit. The drivers are housed in a ported cabinet made of solid walnut or capirona, a South American hardwood grown in managed forests. At 3/4-inch thick, the cabinet walls are remarkably rigid, virtually eliminating measurable wall resonance. The cabinet is further dampened with acoustic damping material to eliminate high frequency reflection. The result is a small, beautiful speaker, capable of accurate sound reproduction with a huge soundstage that presents music and movies with the impact of a more expensive high-end system. Each satellite measures 11 (H) X 6 (W) X 6 (D) inches and weighs 11 to 12 lbs., depending upon type of wood. Frequency response is 78Hz – 25kHz ± 3dB. Recommended power is 50 – 200 watts.

EdgeAudio SW-12/320 12-inch Powered Subwoofer
The EdgeAudio SW-12/320 powered subwoofer is a front firing design with 320 watts of power driving a 12-inch long-throw woofer. The driver is housed in a 1-inch thick cabinet in a choice of hardwood finishes. Capable of reproducing the lower octaves with accuracy, power and definition, the sub can load a large listening room with tremendous force, and deliver every bit of the realism and tactile experience of great movie viewing. It has a five-way gold-plated binding post, both high-level and line-level inputs, and a variable crossover. Frequency response is 28-120Hz ±3dB and rated sensitivity is 90.8 dB. Crossed over at the recommended 85Hz, the SW-12/320 integrates seamlessly with the 502D satellite speakers. The SW-12/320 measures 20 (H) X 15 (W) X 20 (D) inches and weighs 65 to 72 lbs.(varies by type of wood).

EdgeAudio SW-8/150 Eight-Inch Powered Subwoofer
> Like its larger sibling, the EdgeAudio SW-8/150 powered subwoofer is a front-firing design, but with an eight-inch long-throw woofer in a smaller cabinet and a built-in amplifier rated at 150 watts RMS. It has a five-way gold-plated binding post, both high-level and line-level inputs, and a variable crossover. Frequency response is 32-130Hz ± 3 dB and rated sensitivity is 86.75 dB. Like the 12-inch sub, the SW-8/150 is available in a choice of hardwood finishes. The unit measures 16 (H) X 9 (W) X 17 (D) inches and weighs 34 to 37 lbs. (varies by type of wood).

EdgeAudio speakers are available individually or in a variety of stereo and multichannel systems. System purchases provide savings compared to buying each speaker individually.

Founded in 1999, EdgeAudio, Inc. is based in Tigard, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. EdgeAudio manufactures its speaker systems at its 25,000-square-foot production facility in Ensenada, on the Pacific coast of Mexico. APERION AUDIO OFFERS COMPLETE HOME THEATER SYTEMS FEATURING ONKYO ELECTRONICS

TIGARD, OR, January 20, 2001 – Aperion Audio, a Portland-area manufacturer of award winning home theater speaker systems, is now an authorized retailer of Onkyo Electronics.

Aperion Audio (formerly EdgeAudio) revolutionized the home theater market by proving that demanding consumers will purchase high-performance home theater speakers via the Internet. They’ve succeeded by providing products that truly deliver on their performance promise and by supporting that product line with customer service second-to-none, including a 30-day risk-free money-back guarantee.

By offering Onkyo products both online and in their factory outlet store, Aperion Audio continues to pursue its goal of offering the best value in home audio and home theater solutions. Aperion Audio speakers have been praised for their performance and value by the leading home theater enthusiast publications, and received awards from The Perfect Vision magazine and HomeTheaterSound.com. The company’s current speaker line includes compact satellite speakers and a pair of powered subwoofers. All Aperion Audio speakers feature one-inch thick cabinets covered in genuine cherry hardwood. A range of optional wood finishes and cabinet colors will soon be available.

“We’ve been very successful selling our speaker systems direct through the Internet, but thought that it made sense to extend our product offering to include high quality home theater receivers. September, 2000 - EdgeAudio Business Model

Edgeaudio Business Model: September 2000
BUY FIRST, THEN LISTEN – EDGEAUDIO TURNS HOME THEATER SHOPPING ON ITS HEAD

TIGARD, OR, September 28, 2000 — Will home theater fans looking for big sound buy speakers through the Internet without hearing them first? One company is betting that they will, and in fact argues that buying speakers on the web sight unseen — or sound unheard — is the best way to buy home theater products.

In an industry where speakers are typically auditioned by consumers in retailers’ soundproof listening rooms, newcomer EdgeAudio says that approach is as outdated as the Edison cylinder. Instead, the company is selling its home theater speakers solely via the Internet, primarily through its own website (www.edgeaudio.com) but also through selected e-tailers.

Despite the unconventional approach, the company believes that today’s consumer will have no problem spending $1,000 or more on EdgeAudio speakers without hearing them play a single note. Here’s why:

- Consumers have the unique advantage of evaluating the speakers in their own home, the only way to accurately assess a product like a home theater speaker

- The company offers a 30-day money-back guarantee, and pays the return freight

- Superior value — savings allowed by elimination of a retail middleman are passed on to consumers

- EdgeAudio products are unique, top-quality speakers selling for less money than comparable products.

“There will always be limits to what can be sold on the web, but we’re proving that the boundaries can be pushed farther than many people first thought,” said Bob Lightman, EdgeAudio, Inc. President. “We’re providing a clear benefit — a consumer can evaluate our speakers in his own home, using his own components and his own selection of movies and music. That’s far better than dealing with an uninformed salesperson while listening to speakers in a retail demo room that doesn’t remotely resemble anybody’s home.”

The company’s online strategy is also the key to another critical element in the EdgeAudio business model — value. With no retail mark-up and no retail pipeline to keep supplied with costly inventory, significant savings are achieved. And with its own 25,000 square-foot factory, the company has complete control over production, which helps keep costs in check.

The product, too, is unique. The company offers two complete six-piece home theater speakers systems — one for $1,399 another for $999. Both deliver performance and craftsmanship usually found only on speakers costing much more. The direct sales model is one factor. But in addition, the EdgeAudio speakers are the first moderately-priced speakers to use DiAural® circuitry, a recently-patented technology that enhances sound quality and replaces a core circuit found in virtually every other speaker system. Also, the cabinets are solid hardwood in contrast with most speakers in their price range, which typically use molded plastic enclosures or veneers.

Initial product reviews, which carry great weight in the audio and home theater market, confirm the company’s claims. “With its great looks, great sound, and great price, the EdgeAudio 502D speaker system is a terrific deal,” according to Sound & Vision (October, 2000). That same review concluded: “The real standout here is the EdgeAudio speaker system. Products like this signal that there’s something else going on in cyberspace besides spamming, pornography, and hype. If I were you, I’d give it a listen.”

In the coming weeks the line will be expanded to include systems priced below and above the current product. “Our strategy is to offer consumers outstanding value by offering a product with unique technology and superior workmanship, and paying for those extras with the efficiencies of Internet marketing,” said Lightman.

Visitors to the EdgeAudio website will find more than just an e-commerce site, however. The site includes a wealth of generic information about sound and home theater, including a guide to connecting speakers, proper speaker placement and a troubleshooting guide.

Founded in 1999, EdgeAudio, Inc. is based in Tigard, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. EdgeAudio.com manufactures its speaker systems at its 25,000- square-foot production facility in Ensenada, on the Pacific coast of Mexico.

Founded in 1999, EdgeAudio, Inc. is based in Tigard, Oregon, a suburb of Portland. EdgeAudio.com manufactures its speaker systems at its 25,000- square-foot production facility in Ensenada, on the Pacific coast of Mexico.
