Bravo Bravus ! Fantastic sound & great looks at a unbeatable price

Comments: My short story below in no particular order:

Aperion will save you valuable time & gas money ! I was tired of shopping from store to store and traveling to multiple states listening to multiple subs in perfectly designed rooms on systems that I can't afford and finding out they all sound great anyway....very frustrating. Even bringing in my favorite CD's, I still wondered what it would sound like in my own home... Aperion's 30 day risk free in home audition a no brainer.

My Music:
I listen to everything from George Winston, Metallica, Alpha Blondy, The Doors, Depeche Mode, The Replacements, Steel Pulse, Beth Orton, Jack Johnson, Wilco, Son Volt, and as I type jamming to Guster.

This sub is the answer to me being all over the map with my music: This sub is adjustable with a remote...How awesome, with my music on shuffle, (which most of us do)... I do not have to put my fine wine or micro-brew down to get the sound I like.

The Sub looks great and sounds awesome. It is hard to believe you get the punch in a unit with such a small footprint. With an easy set up and the on the fly adjustments you can dial it in to the sound you are looking for.

I use this for mostly just music, I have a new two channel Marantz amp, vintage Marantz turntable, Marantz CD player, and an Apple TV with all my music on it.

Your sub even comes in a "Crown Royal" like bag Nice Touch !!!

Great experience all around, you will not be disappointed!

Comments: I cannot believe the quality for the price. This subwoofer is great for both movies and music. I positioned it on the floor in the corner of the room and it works great. The black gloss finish looks excellent and it even comes with a remote control!

Don't bother knockin' if the house is a rockin'......

Comments: I purchased 4 532 LRs as my surrounds, the 532 VAC as the center, and the Bravus 8D as the sub. My order was during the transition of products from the Intimus sub line to the Bravus.

I read many a post from the Aperion Community concerned of the smaller speaker(s), more money, etc, etc. No need to worry, the Bravus 8D is more bass than I need for my 14' X 25' media room.

Listened to the Eagles Farewell I Tour DVD through these speakers, and the sub was set to a -2!!!!

Aperion does not disappoint, from customer service, to product quality & delivery; it's all grade A, top notch stuff.

Now I just need some more WAF to get the receiver I want.....

Aperion speaker review including Bravus 8D

Name: Douglas Marini
Rating: 5
Comments: I purchased my Aperion speaker system earlier this year and have been listening to the system for a little over two months. My 5.1 surround system is composed of 2 533-T tower speakers, 1 533-VAC center channel speaker, 2 532 LR bookshelf rear speakers and 1 Bravus 8D powered subwoofer. The system is powered by a Yamaha RX-V1400 receiver and the music is played through a Sony DVP-NC85H CD/DVD player. This system replaced a 5.1 system whose main speakers (front left and right) were very large 1978 vintage studio monitor speakers of a very well known brand that originally cost $1800 for the pair at wholesale. After having moved twice in the last 20 years I decided that the current speaker system was just too large and clunky. It took two people to move each front channel speaker. The speakers were 4 ohm input and took a powerful and stable amp to drive them. I became aware of Aperion through a friend of mine who had read several reviews in audio magazines. I was hesitant to consider purchasing a new speaker system without first listening to the speakers in person and with music that I was familiar with. (I was unaware of Aperion's policy of a 30 day in home trial with free shipping and return shipping if not pleased). At about the same time another friend of mine purchased an Aperion 422 Harmony 5.1 system with an S-8 powered subwoofer. He bought the system to go along with his new flat panel HDTV. I was really impressed with the sound of his system, particularly in view of the relatively small surround speakers and the great bass provided by the powered subwoofer. The performance of his system coupled with Aperion's policy of a 30 day in home trial with free shipping both ways convinced me to to give Aperion a try.

After the first few hours with the new system I decided that I had made the right purchase. I am no audiophile expert but this system really pleases me. In describing the system to friends I find myself using such adjectives as natural sounding, smooth, no harsh highs, etc. The more I listen to the system, the more I like it. I do like some bass with my music, a quality that was somewhat lacking with my old system. I choose the Bravus 8D subwoofer but wondered if it would be sufficient for my tastes. It more than meets my expectations. In addition to music, I enjoy watching movies on my HDTV and the bass subwoofer has plenty of power to rattle the windows on movies like "Transformers." As an added sidelight, the appearance of the speakers is an added bonus (I chose the Cherrywood finish). The speakers came well packed in double cartons. With the 30 day free trial, you can't go wrong and the price is right. D. M., Decatur, GA.

Bravus Rocks and Rumbles in Huge Room

Comments: I just finished setting up this amazing sub and was enjoying its gorgeous sound with the Amp set high so I was rocking the house. Then, my kids went to bed and had to turn the volume down and I discovered this sub's hidden talent. I put on Dark Side of the Moon and was simply blown away at the subtle effects this sub is capable of. I could feel the subsonic frequencies, as well as the more musical sonic ones, perfectly balanced with mid range and treble notes from my Intimus 532 bookshelves. Even when I had the volume almost down to a whisper, I could feel the sub resonating with my chest and spine, right along with the heartbeat that opens the album.

Next, I put on some old live Genesis with Peter Gabriel and could again feel their big bass pedals courtesy of Mr. Rutherford rumbling away even at super low volumes. When my wife came in she said she didn't even know I was listening to music until she stepped inside the music cone created by this very versatile sub.

It can crank up and rattle your whole house or give you a very private mystical musical experience all under your loved one's nose without stirring their wrath. WOW!

Trust Them

Comments: The Bravus 8D is everything the Aperion advisor said it would be. A tight bass. I have to still experiment with location and crossover settings because I can occasionally hear the subwoofer's location. Aperion gives the customer no reason not to trust them and their products.

Just like Aperion said... don't let the 8" size fool you!

Comments: I soon discovered the 8" Bravus 8D to be not-wife-friendly. Or dog friendly for that matter. Perhaps it's one of my tendencies to turn everything up a bit louder, but this dual 8" lets you FEEL the bass. My theatre room is about 14' x 20' and has no problem filling the room (or most of the house for that matter) with accurate sound. As another reviewer had mentioned, I still have yet to play around with subwoofer placement, but so far it has been rather impressive.

Bravus WOW

Name: Thomas O'Rourke

Comments: I have had my Bravus 8D for a couple of months now and have subjected it to music and movies galore. In all honesty, I felt I was taking a chance with it as I thought that it's small size might give less than satisfying performance, but I was restricted due to the size of my room and all the other furniture already there. Boy was I wrong! The thing is a dynamo. During the temple explosion in Batman Begins, I felt I was quite literally "blown away". It really moves some air!

It is a very good complement to the other speakers I bought - Intimus 6Bs for mains, 5C for Center and 4Bs for surrounds - and it is tight and controlled on music as well. I was impressed with it's performance on Bob James' Grand Piano Canyon, Pink Floyd's Dark Side of the Moon and Dire Straits Making Movies. You won't be disappointed.
