I was in the market this year for a new system, to replace my old HTIB, and I did a lot of research to find the right setup. I listened to a lot of speakers at home audio retailers, but wasn't convinced that the ones I liked were worth the high price tags I saw. Aperion's reputation and risk-free 30-day audition convinced me to give them a try. I was amazed at the quality of these speakers - the music sounds bright, alive, and finely detailed. I'm powering my 532 system through a Denon 3806 receiver and 2930ci DVD/SACD player, and I can't imagine getting better performance for the price. And the speakers look great too! Highly recommended.

Aperion Audio's recipe for success couldn't be more straightforward: offer state-of-the-art customer service, build great-sounding speakers and sell them direct, via the Internet. By eliminating all of the middlemen's profits, Aperion offers a level of build quality rarely achieved at this price range. A couple of years ago, we were wowed by the sound (and the gorgeous looks) of the company's 522 bookshelf speaker. The company has tweaked it slightly and rechristened it as the 532. While messing with success is always a dicey proposition, we're happy to report the "newly voiced" Intimus surround system is not only as impressive as its predecessor, the sound quality is actually slightly improved.

The Aperion S-10's home-theater skills satisfied our lust for bombast; when playing the Constantine DVD, the evil spirits' demonic low-frequency effects quaked with visceral authority. The sub can fill even fairly large 400-plus-square-foot room with bass. Some subs are great with home theater but turn flabby on music. No problem here--the S-10 depicted jazz bassist Charles Mingus's nimble fingerings with crisp articulation.
