Intimus 533-PT Powered Tower Speaker

$539.00ea.
User Rating: Review this Product

Availability: Not available

What happens when a custom 1” audiophile grade silk-dome tweeter, a 5 ¼” PVA-damped midrange, and an 8” high-excursion subwoofer all shack up in an attractive anti-resonant cabinet? You get the smooth, dynamic and punchy sound experience known as the Intimus 533 Power Tower. With amplified bass extension down to 30Hz, rarely has a tower speaker delivered such incredible range and deep, room quaking bass – so you can decide for yourself whether you want a standalone subwoofer or not.

Prepare to have your inner ear turned into an erogenous zone. With its integrated subwoofer and large tower sound, the Intimus 533 Power Tower eliminates the need for a separate sub in small or medium rooms, or use it with a 10” or 12” sub for thundering bass in large rooms.

Simply amazing!

Comments: I've owned these speakers for several years now, and they never fail to impress my friends, family, and me! Just ask my wife: I perform an incredible amount of research before making any major purchase, and I wanted the best speaker regardless of price. The Aperion Intimus 533-PT speakers were perfect for our large projection theatre setup. After a very short breakin period, these speakers rocked the neighborhood. Although we already had a decent subwoofer, these powered speakers brought the bass to both movies and music. We listen to all kinds of films and music, and it was incredible what sounds we had been missing. Realize that the high end of the soundstage is not ignored; all sounds are crisp and clear. As long as you have electrical outlets on both sides of your room, please do not hesitate to purchase these speakers! They look as beautiful as they sound, and the Aperion company is incredibly helpful. The blue felt bag that these speakers came in was a special touch. Don't hesitate to grab these right away!

Comments: I just got a pair of these for my home theater system. I've been using a pair of Cerwin Vega DX-5's for years as my main speakers and I had always been happy with them. One of my closest friends works for Aperion and has been raving about these for a long time and I finally broke down and got them. All I can say is WOW! The sound is crystal clear, the low end is astounding all by it's self. When I turn on my 10 in powered sub in conjunction to these, the sound is earth shattering. So clear, so true. I would recommend these to anyone, these MADE my system!

I am very please with these towers. Very stylish and sleek and superior performance. They deliver a serious punch, shaking my whole house if I turn up the power, yet the quality of the bass is still solid, unlike most other speakers that deliver uncrisp bass at loud volumes.

Great Sound and Aesthetics

Shopping around, I could not get my wife to buy in on having a subwoofer as part of the "decor" for our family room. The 533-PTs were a great compromise to satisfy her decorating requirements but were no compromise on sound. I have a 5.1 system powered by a Rotel RSX-1065. The 533-PTs are my front speakers combined with a 533-VAC and 532-LR satellites. The system is used primarily as a home theater and really sounds great. The built in subs deliver al the bass we need for our 15' by 20" space. Music playback is equally impressive and the imaging is as good as it gets. I have had the system for over two years and the high gloss black finish still looks as good as the day they arrived.

A complete sound

I've owned Bose, Sony, and other generic speakers in the past. This is the first time I've ever really enjoyed the sound from my speakers. It's a full sound, no missing mid-ranges (like Bose) or missing deep bass. The power towers drive my own customized 5 speaker system for my living room stereo system which doubles as my home theater speakers. I'm a fan of music more than my movies so more often I'm listening to the well-rounded sound of my towers. the biggest bonus is the WAF (wife acceptance factor). She likes the sound and doesn't think they look too "geeky" in our living room.

I got a set of these for myself for Christmas last year and was blown away from first listen. The packaging job is amazing - I can't imagine UPS figuring out a way to damage these suckers (although I am sure they have at least once or twice). Once I opened the foam, everyone in my office oohed and aahed over the blue velvet covers. But then I plugged them in at home and I have been in love ever since. Way to go Aperion!

I've owned a pair of these towers for close to three years now and they are fantastic. I've had no problems and the added bonus provided by the built-in subs is even better than I expected. I've used these for mostly music, everything from DVD Audio to Mp3 to my vinyl records and all were reproduced with surgical precision.

Music and video formats come and go but a good set of speakers never age, and these are a great example of that.

These speakers rock! They are the only new component of my sweet media room. I have them paired with a Vintage Marantz receiver and they sound great. Whether I play CDs, Vinyl, Cassettes or my Sansui Reel-to-Reel...They Rock!

Great Punch, Great Price

I chose a pair of Intimus 533-PT’s for the main channels in my home theater system with high hopes for the performance of the powered subwoofer in each of the towers. I have not been disappointed.

While I use an Intimus S-10 to handle the very low-end of the sonic spectrum, the 533-PT provides a clean, powerful, and pleasing “punch” to my favorite movies and music. The drum phrases in Flim & the BB’s “Tricycle” are especially fun through these.

At the same time, the upper end of the 533-PT provides sweet and clear reproduction of the most subtle passages. I had a friend remark on the things he heard in songs through the Aperions that he had never heard in the same music played on his home system.

My speakers are the high-gloss black variety and they are gorgeous. I have no idea how you manage to have a slick as glass finish and still somehow convey a sense of warmth to the touch. But these do exactly that.

They are shipped in excellent packaging. Despite Fed-Ex’s best efforts to destroy them, they arrived in perfect shape.

I can’t say enough about how much I enjoy these speakers.

I bought a set of these two years ago and use them as the front speakers for my 7.1 sound system. They're connected to my Denon 3805 AVI, but it doesn't seem to know they're not Denons, and they ROCK! Movies and music have never sounded to good. My only regret is that I haven't got the funds to pick up an Aperion amp. I would--and have--recommended them to the purest of audiophiles with the utmost confidence. A+ speaker from an A+ company!

533-PT's are Rock Stars

I use the 533-PT's as my main left and right front speakers in a 5.1 Aperion home theater setup. My room is 17'x20' with an open kitchen behind it. I use an S-12 subwoofer crossed over at 40Hz for the low bass in movies and music. A also have a 533-VAC center and 632-IW's as surrounds. The PT's are awesome rock and roll speakers. They love to be cranked up and they deliver really tight articulate bass along with a smooth midrange and warm top end. If you love rock music and action movies, you can't go wrong with the 533-PT's.
