The Intimus 533-T Tower Speaker delivers beautiful music and dramatic theatrical sound with authority -- while taking up no more space than a bookshelf speaker on a stand. Graceful enough to do a pirouette yet packed with enough voice to handle your most demanding music and home theater soundtracks. Two custom-designed 5.25” drivers handle the low-end workload, assisted by the 1” audiophile-grade tweeter and Aperion Audio HD-X3™ crossover technology to balance out the sound with ease. Plus, we designed the 533-T with power efficiency in mind, so it will sound fantastic on moderately priced electronics. Paired up with a subwoofer, it delivers absolutely outstanding home theater performance. It’s a no-brainer why it’s one of our favorite speakers.

The 533-T is the perfect blend of size, price and performance -- small in size and huge in sound. You may court a lot of midsize tower speakers, but this is the one you’ll want to marry.

Those Black Beauties Deliver Extra-fine Sound

My son convinced me to take a look at Aperion products and I am glad he did. The 533-T speakers have performed exactly as I hoped they would. Just this evening my wife and I listened to a recent Allison Krauss CD and we were amazed how good it sounded. The CD has a lot of soft sounds with a lot of delicate melodies. The 533-T Tower speakers deliver the sound perfectly both loud and soft. I have decided to add a subwoofer to the mix for this Christmas.

I live in Beaverton, OR and had a chance to hear all the Aperion speakers in their Demo room. The best speakers I have heard till now. Plus these speakers have a high glossy finish and solid construction. The Best Customer Service. Currently I own two 533-T's (front speakers), 533-VAC (center channel), S8 APR (powered sub), and two 534-SS (surround). All these speakers are excellent.

These speakers were a perfect upgrade from my old bookshelf set (purchased back when Aperion used to be known as EdgeAudio). I've got them paired up with an Intimus S8-APR subwoofer and 533-Vac center. The sound is sweet whether I'm listening to music or movies, and the looks blend right in with my decor (cherry red hardwood floors help). I've read that these can be used standalone without a sub, but for me, the combination I have gave me just enough low-end punch that I didn't feel compelled to overcompensate by increasing the volume. If anything, I usually need to draw-down the bass a bit. I would say that in comparison to other speakers I've used, the Aperion's most closely translate the sound of the original recording, without altering the mix by being either too woofer or tweeter heavy, unless of couse I choose to do so via adjustments to my receiver. Honestly, I can't wait to move into a bigger place (my entertainment room is about 11 x 16) so that I can move up to the 633 series.

Top Notch Performance & Quality

I stumbled across Aperion while doing a bit of online research for a quality music/surround system for a remodeled room. Like many others, I was somewhat apprehensive about purchasing an upper-end system without hearing them first.

But between the many outstanding reviews, and Aperion's "30-day in-home audition", I decided to give them a try. A call to customer service pretty much sealed the deal. They took the time to make sure that I got exactly what I needed to fit my room.

I settled on the following system (used with an Onkyo TX-SR703):

533-T towers,
634-VAC center,
534-SS dipole/bipole side surrounds,
632-IW rear surrounds,
S-10 sub

I couldn't be happier with the purchase! This system is incredible, filling the room with crisp, clean sound. I highly recommend them, and would make the purchase again without reservation.

Handsome Speaker

Browsing for speakers on the net, I stumbled upon Aperion Audio. I was on the fence between Aperion and Axiom. Having been able to hear a couple sets of Axiom setups and unable to sample the Aperions I gambled and chose Aperion mostly for the high gloss black lacquer piano finish (which looks awesome) and the 1" thick HDF (high density fiberboard) cabinet. When I got the speakers (that were individually cloaked like a bottle of Chivas) I was blown away at the glossy finish and solid construction of these speakers. Once I got them connected to my brand new Onkyo TX-SR804 receiver, I was once again impressed by the sound to price ratio. Perhaps I should have gotten the 633-T for a fuller sound but I didn't want to shell out another $250 for them. Maybe someday... Only warning to prospective buyers is that you WILL need to get a sub in order to get a fuller sound from the lower spectrum. I'd recommend at least a 10" if you have a mid to large room. An 8" might do for a smaller room. I also got the 533-VAC (center channel), S10 (powered sub), and two 534-SS (surround). See my reviews for those on their respective pages.

I have been incredibly happy with the 533-T's as part of my home theater (533-T, 533-VAC, 532-LR) set up. They are well balanced with a great, full sound given their relatively small size and cost. They are everything I was looking for at a price that was well below what I expected to pay for this level of quality.

The greatest compliment I can give them is that even though my focus was on the home theater aspect, they have reignited my joy for listening to music. I'm jamming to an old favorite CD that I haven't listened to in 5 years right now and its like I'm hearing it for the first time.

Throw in the good looks and you have a package that can't be beat and has me smiling every time I push the power button on my receiver...

If you are looking for a speaker with awesome performance and good looks than the 533-T is one of the best options there is. I spent a lot of time on speaker search for the Home Theater I was building and finally decided on the Aperion Speakers. I was thrilled the moment I opened the package by the looks of the speaker and once I wired it the ears felt better too. This one is for your eyes and ears only...

Live Music Recordings That Sound Live

The first live concert I ever attended was The Jimi Hendrix Experience in the spring of '68. I've been to a lot of concerts and festivals since then, and I have many live recordings in my music collection.

I am not an audiophile but I can honestly say that I have never heard better live music reproduction that what I am getting from the 533-Ts with the 533-VAC center. I am very anxious to replace my current rear channel speakers with another pair of Aperions to expand the great sound I am currently getting. The sound is simply stunning.

If you can find a better speaker, both for quality and for the money, buy it. You will not, however, find better customer support or service at any price. Aperion has it right.

I recently upgraded from the Intimus 422 Harmony system to the Intimus 533 Cinema HD system and was blown away. I loved my 422 but moved into a bigger place and wanted a little more oomph for the room. I was truly surprised by the styling of the 533-T. The gloss black is amazingly sleek and extremely powerful. Already had the neighbors come knocking on the door. Small room or a large room, it just sounds great.

From beginning to end, the Aperion solution was most impressive. The 533's exhibited amazing response from my Pioneer Elite receiver. Out of the box, the sound was great, only after I "tuned" them with my receiver did the show really begin.

From Clapton to Pearl Harbor, I don't think there's better value for the dollar.

I have had my 533-T speakers for about a month now and absolutely love them. They are extremely clean sounding and are a perfect fit for my space. The wife loves the way they look and was surprised that she could tell a difference with how they sounded versus our old speakers. 85% music 15% home theater, Onkyo TX-SR605 and the speakers sound great in home theater or in stereo.

Very Happy

While not an audiophile, I can tell a pair of good speakers from average. These are, for the price, great. The response of Aperion to my order was prompt and professional, and the packaging of the shipment was quite over the top. My 533-T's are being used with an Outlaw stereo receiver, together making the basis for a very nice, low-budget system. The bass could use an additional subwoofer in a larger room than mine, but for my purposes, they are adequate. I love them. Will shop here first for speakers in the future.

My goal at this point was to just get a great set of speakers as I plan to finish the system down the road (when I get more cash!)

But after looking around Portland I came across Aperion since it's near my house. I was lucky. I've had the speakers for a month and love them. I listen to wide variety of music (mostly I use them for music) and also use them for movies and I am extremely statisfied. I highly recommend their speakers. Down the road, I will also check back with them for a sub and the rest of the system as their quality is fantastic.

After much online research reading reviews, comparing specs, and visiting audio stores for listening tests, I bought the 533-Ts in April 07. The speaker is definitely broken in since I watch a couple movies a week, tv almost daily, and the kids watch tv/movies a lot. Everything said about the customer service, delivery, packaging is spot on; Aperion Audio is a first-rate company that stands behind their product. When I first ordered my speakers (I also bought a 533-VAC, 4 422 satellites as surrounds, and mounting brackets), not all the speakers were going to be delivered on time. Aperion actually e-mailed and called me personally to confirm my order, apologize for the delay, and explained what would happen. Not that it was a concern, but Aperion said the 30-day home audition wouldn't start until I had received all the speakers! Needless to say, I've been very pleased. The 533-Ts are connected to an Outlaw audio amp pushing 125 watts. It took a few days to break them in. I just left music playing while I was gone. Now, I'm extremely happy with the sound quality. At first, the sound was a bit hollow... my old Infinity towers had more punch. But the more I listened to the 533-Ts, the more the sound filled out. These speakers shine w/ music or movies with clear/dynamic dialogue and great punch. My theater room is 14x19 w/9 ft ceilings. Sitting on the long wall, the sound dispersion from the 533-Ts are such that there is minimal sound quality reduction when sitting off-axis. My wife was concerned they'd be too big, but with a 52" DLP as the main attraction, these fit perfectly. They're slender, beautifully finished (cherry), not too deep, and are hefty enough not to tip from the occasional bump. My previous Infinities were huge and heavy...definitely an eyesore. Writing this makes me want to watch a movie...get some popcorn and dim the lights!

Beauty & undistractingly clean sound

Purchased in 6/07. I have no complaints. Clean sound, beautiful "grand piano" black finish, solid construction. The pair of these shipped in enormous boxes within boxes. The packaging for shipping was first-rate.

While these are tower speakers, they are actually of modest size - shorter than the 51" CRT rear-projection TV they sit beside by a few inches and take up smaller footprint than I had made available. I was happily surprised that I had more space in my living room.

My main use for the speakers is movie watching. These speakers don't distract from the show, but do their job in excellent fashion.

After months of tower speaker research, I am glad to say my investment was a good one. I don't think I could have bought a better front end system for the money than the Aperion 533-T's. I didn't have a fortune to spend and feel very pleased with my choice. The sound is very transparent and natural. Add the full surround, as I did, and you would be hard pressed to find a better deal.

This speaker offers very clear crisp sound. Also, the aesthetics of it look very nice. Currently I think it's impossible to find another speaker in the market to compete with this speaker at its price to offer everything the 533-T has. This is in terms of sound quality for price, aesthetics for price, customer service for price. Aperion made my choice easy for a quality speaker at this price point.

Apartment dwellers will love the 533-T speakers

I originally bought some Klipsch F-1's that were on sale at Best Buy. But I was unhappy with the overall sound. After reading many reviews about the 533-T's I decided to try them out. I'm glad I did! It only took a few minutes to confidently return the Klipsch F-1's to the store. The presence these speakers put out is what took me by surprise the most. Very good mid-base is important to me and these speakers deliver. Oh, I forgot to mention these speakers are very easy on the eyes. I love the grills that cover the speakers. The Klipsch grills are supported with a heavy plastic lattice. The 533-T grills are mostly cloth so the sound gets through without distorting the sound field. I'm one that likes the grills on. The design and quality makes sense to me.

Apartment dwellers who want a great sounding pair of speakers that don't shake the walls the 533-T's are a great solution. This is providing I don't crank the sound up so high that people will complain. I want my neighbor faction to stay high without sacrificing sound quality. A subwoofer can always be added at a later time.
