Feeling rather defeated searching for Paradigm dealers close to me, then to find out they want a lot more than I was willing to pay, plus my state's rather high sales tax, I figured I'd give Aperion a try. After all, there's that 30-day return right?
No need. I've already thrown the boxes out.
This complete system rocks. Everything is so clean & clear, it is amazing. I have the 5B Fusion SD connected to a Marantz SR4002 receiver, using Aperion's speaker & subwoofer cables. Simply amazing. The finish (I went w/ glossy black) I was a bit skeptical too, looking at the photos online. I figured there might have been a lot of photo editing going on to make them look like that on the website. But after I had removed the speakers from the velvet bags (with my Aperion-supplied white gloves of course), they truly looked just like it appears on the website. The glossy black perfectly matches my Pioneer plasma TV, as well as my PlayStation 3/Blu-Ray player.
Packaging was great--boxes within boxes to keep everything safe & protected. User guides were simple & easy to follow--fortunate, since I'm one of those super-impatient types who just wants to connect everything and throw "Ronin" on.
Unlike most, I use this system very little for music, perhaps only 2% of the time. I'd say 49% is used for PS3 gaming; 49% for movies. And with the convenient remote that the Bravus 8D remote, I can easily switch from gaming to movie mode.
Clean, crisp sound--it puts you into the movie, instead of just peering in. When playing Call of Duty 4, the surround speakers helps a lot in figuring out from what direction you're being shot! I found myself wincing, as those shots sound so incredibly realistic with these speakers. There is just no way a generic HTIB can hang with this.
Now all I need are French doors in the bonus/theatre room to keep the Household Committee happy... :) |
