Our 1-inch, audiophile-grade, silk dome tweeter has been re-engineered for optimal sonic performance, even at the highest volume levels. The smooth sound of our silk tweeter ensures a warm, natural sound with no harsh aftertaste. This new tweeter features a unique system of venting to a rear chamber that employs multiple rear vents outside the neodymium magnet instead of the traditional design that uses a single vent through the magnet’s center. This new design allows the magnet to remain fully intact, resulting in a stronger motor structure with a lower resonant frequency, smooth response, and an amazingly pure, natural, and distortion free sound. Switchable Bipole/Dipole Design
Music? Movies? The switchable Bipole/Dipole gives you the best of both worlds. The 5DB features a switchable design for the ultimate in surround sound flexibility. In dipole mode, the 5DB drivers are wired out of phase resulting in a diffuse sound field -- perfect for immersive surround effects in movies! Switch the system to bipole mode and all the drivers are in-phase, resulting in the expansive soundstage for music and concert recordings that only a bipole speaker can offer.
