I've had the system for little under a month, and have run it through the wringer, just to have it "broken in"... I listen to music (classical/opera/rock/pop), and it constantly surprises me that I hear sounds I didn't hear previously ! I do believe I need to experiment with my setup to wring out the best sound I can - but if this is the sound I am getting BEFORE tuning, I KNOW I can expect BETTER then ! Have no regrets purchasing this set - love them ! My setup: Onkyo TX-NR906 receiver, Oppo BDP-83, Panasonic BDT350, Panasonic P65VT25

I'm surprised to be the first person to review this system! I had been looking at Aperion for 6 months before deciding to give them a try. I was having a hard time deciding between a 6T system and a 5T system. In the end I decided on the 5T's because I have a rather small room with many challenges preventing an ideal system layout and I figured with the 30 day trial if the 5T system didn't work out I could always send it back and try the 6T system. After 30 days I won't be sending these back (not to say I won't catch upgradeitis down the road). My first impression looking at these speakers was how well the finish is and build quality. After looking a major big box stores for speakers these are speakers stand out in a class of their own. After setting up the speakers I had some trouble getting my new Yamaha RX-V1900 receiver set up properly for the subwoofer. Without the sub set up properly I was not satisfied with the bass sound using the 5T's without the sub. I called Aperion customer support and they had me change several speaker settings and then the sound was very rich. I still think some further experimentation and fine tuning will further improve my set up. I used the SPL meter to adjust the speakers and bumped up the center channel a bit to help out with movie dialogs. I watch about 80 percent movies and 20 percent music and these speakers handle both with ease. I tend to like to crank up the volume when listening to music especially when nobody else is home and I cranked this system up extremely loud and it was incredible! In seven channel stereo mode I had so much volume it was hard for me to imagine needing a larger speaker. I think the reasons for needing a 6T would be more for a fuller sound and not so much for needing more volume. I think if you are undecided on going with 5's or 6's you should try the 5's out first. I probably would have ordered the 6T's if their depth dimensions were not so very deep. Where I have the towers located the extra depth would make them obtrusive in a main walkway. I may want to update this review as I have more time to experiment with my setup and the speakers are more broke in. Overall I'm very glad I ordered these and do not regret my choice.
