Buying Experience and Sound Quality

The speakers arrived yesterday evening exactly as the tracking said it would. The speakers were incredibly packed and arrived undamaged. The packing is awesome and nearly guarantees that the speakers will arrive undamaged. Nice job. I was reticent to buy over the net due to never hearing the speakers. I had purchased a HSU subwoofer over the net and was exceptionally pleased so that bolstered my confidence. I got the cherry finish and I must say the cabinets look more like furniture than a speaker cabinet. Nice touch.

My front speakers are electrostatics and they are flawless in the mid to upper ranges. I was looking for a speaker that would help round out the lower ranges. The 633s have done that. I was looking at the Mythos II and was prepared to buy them when the sales staff at the upper end audio store just totally brushed me off. So it was goodbye and lets see what I can find where someone cares about the customer. I was searching on the internet and stumbled on to Aperion. I am glad I did.

Great job and I will recommend you to others.

The shipping boxes were fairly damaged upon arrival, but the way these towers are packaged there is basically no chance of them getting hurt unless the box is stabbed by a sword or something. Whatever you do, don't open the box before you open the package that comes with. I had to scramble around for some gloves to handle my black towers, only to later find Aperion sent me some gloves & cloth to handle them with.

The sound quality really increases the longer you let the speakers warm up. I started them off with a movie, and by the end of the movie the speakers sounded twice as good as when I first plugged them in. The tweeter is very clean and clear -- I thought one of my tweeters was blown, only to find out it was broadcasting some slight distortion due to a bad cable (which I had been unable to notice on my previous speakers).

The midrange is not as strong in some musical applications, but I can hardly complain as I am not spending $1600 on a 3way tower that would perhaps fill in this gap, I'm spending $500 on a 2way tower that sounds amazing. I can't wait till my center channel comes in, I expect the dedicated midrange speaker will solve this small issue.

As far as the bass goes, I ordered the 12" subwoofer with these towers so I can't really say much about it. Even when cranked up real high, I get no distortion in the towers so the crossover is obviously doing a great job of keeping them in their physical range.

To wrap it up, these speakers are; shipped fast, packed so they can be delivered in a war zone, the black paint is amazingly reflective and clean (who cares about wood finish anyways?), the tweeter can't be any better, the midrange is only lacking in volume -- it projects every range perfectly, why pay over 3x as much just to get a dedicated midrange speaker? -- and the bass sounds clean even when the volume is cranked up and your powered 12" subwoofer is blasting away. Great buy, very happy.

I bought the 633-T for a second system i had in my house, which consists of an adom GFA5500 AMP and a YAMAHA CX-2 pre. I had a pair of BOSE 901s which i did not care for. I have had the 633ts for a couble of days now and can honestly say they are very good speakers. I was very surprised how open they sound. I have heard other speakers in their price range, and these are by far the best i have heard. Highly recommended

I have owned multiple pairs of great speakers over the years and for the money, I believe these are Fantastic. When I first received them they sounded dull and muddy but as they broke-in, they began to open up in ways that truly impressed me--especially in the bass area. I use them as a music and and theater speaker. I do not hesitate to recommend them!

I Kept Them

The popup ad from Aperion was the first and only such ad I have clicked on - and that was many months ago. Several things about the company and their products were interesting - the DiAural crossover fascinated me.

I have toyed with the idea of trying Aperion's since that first ad (darn popups, anyway) but not until this summer did I take the plunge.

Buying speakers online - a risky sounding proposition. But with the free return guarantee I figured it was a risk worth taking.

Simply put: the 633-T's are much more than I expected. My audiophile friends (even my wife) recognize the performance of these black monoliths. Listening through my eclectic library of CD's and SACD's through our Denon receiver has been a fabulous ride, imaging and details like we have not heard before.

Movies are great fun as well.

Bottom line: I kept them.

An unexpected pleasure

Having read a review on the 533-T, I visited Aperion's site to find the 633-T which I purchased. Very few audio components have given me as much pleasure as these speakers.

The speakers seamlessly intergrated with my Rotel amp and Anthem pre-amp. After a short break in period, it has been an enjoyable listening experience.

If you're thinking of buying speakers in this price range, give these a try, I believe you'll be pleasantly surprised.

Excellent tower speakers

Our 633-Ts perform beautifully, even at very high volume, with transparent highs and breathtaking lows. I've never heard anything like them. They were one of the few items on the commercial market that could handle the power output of our amplifier, and the least expensive, to boot.

Aperion's service was also delightful - fast, thorough, and personable.

These are possibly the best speakers I have ever listened to. The sound they produce feels as if it is real life. I have another surround sound system with average speakers and the difference is not even close. I recommend these to anyone looking for top of the line speakers.

The 633's are the cornerstone of my theater/music system. I chose the 633's after much shopping, listening, and comparing. Aperion has received great reviews and my experience with both the company and the 633's has been excellent and have proven the other reviews to be honest in my estimation. The speakers arrived on schedule and in excellent condition. I ordered the black finish and they are awesome; rich, rich, rich. And, the finish is matched by the sound. I couldn't be happier with the sound quality and the value. They have thus far handled with aplomb everything that I have subjected them to. They perform well with every kind of music and shine with movie sound tracks as well.

These speakers need a sub-woofer to make my system sound it's best. This should really not come as a surprise, nor should it be taken as a negative comment. With today's music mixes and thumping movie sound tracks, a sub-woofer is necessary with all but truly full spectrum speakers.

I am very happy with my purchase and would do it again.

I must admit, buying these speakers unseen and unheard, I was a little concerned. But after having read various reviews from various sources in addition to the 30-day free trial, I figured I'd give them a try. And am I glad I did! These speakers ROCK! Both movies and music are taken to a whole new level. The piano black finish is gorgeous! Perfect fit for my home theater. Great speakers and no buyers remorse!

With subwoofer on the way, these handle the bass fantastically

These speakers are, first and foremost, gorgeous. They came out of the box and immediately became the centerpieces of the room (well, except for the 50 inch plasma). They came second, though only to my center channel so it was nice to hear any highs or lows. I am constantly surprised at how well they handle the bass even before I add the true sub.

They handle everything well, from music to games to sports on TV to high-action movies. Great speakers, great price.

Oh, and the customer service is second to none.

I bought these after reading a lot of reviews online. Like all other reviewers, I was a bit hesitant about basing a decision like this purely on the internet. Turns out, this was the best decision I made. The towers cover a wide range of frequencies and sound phenomenal: Clear, crisp and can even be loud if you prefer. I must also add that the experts at Aperion were extremely helpful and knew their stuff. If you are interested in these tower speakers, don't hesitate - you can't go wrong with this, and the Aperion experts will help you make the right choice.

Great speakers for the money

These are by far the best speakers I've heard anywhere near their price range. The only other ones that come even remotely close are the Axioms. However, the Axioms are too "cold" and "bright" sounding for my tastes. I much prefer the warmer sounds of the Aperions.

While I prefer the look of the Axioms, the finish on the Aperions is quite nice. The customer care was second to none, and the packaging was superb.

Compared to the 532s, these are much fuller and richer sounding.

Give them a try; you won't be disappointed!

There's No Risk. Why wait to try the best sounding sub $1,000 Speaker

Name: Brian

This is by far the best deal of high quality speakers on the market. You can listen on your own equipment in your home RISK FREE. This is an AWESOME situation and sets the internet standard for selling something that must be sensed before purchased. Even local retailers charge a re-stocking fee! I would never purchase another set of speakers without an in-home trial. Another great benefit is that for $1K the finish is furniture grade and carries a high WAF (wife acceptance factor) despite the tower size.

First, if you play music, even a little music and you have the space, get a full size speaker. You will find that you will listen to more music as a result of getting these. And yes when you run these in stereo, the center channel does sound like its on. The Sound stage is wide and deep with the proper set up.

I am running only stereo for music and 3ch both without a sub. Room configurations have a lot do with the decision for a sub. For now I am content without one, especially for music. For movies, I find that the towers hold their own in the bass, but for the gutteral explosions and synth sounds, a sub would be welcome. This is somewhat mitigated by a bass boost +4db at 50Hz and is less of an issue when I am able to play back at a loder setting. I have small children, so I don't get to do this that often.

Once I got these speakers properly set up with my receiver, I broke them in over several days and then recalibrated the EQ/distance and phase settings. I have been happliy listening to jazz, hard rock, blues, classical, and classic rock for almost 1 year and the speakers handle all quite well. I find the tweeters to be INCREDIBLE. They are very accurate, but are NOT harsh at all. IMHO This is extremely important in a home setting. Klipsch still does not understand this fact. The Mid range is smooth and inviting and the bass has excellent timpanic response and range. Just one listen to the vocals in Norah Jones' "Come Away with Me" will convince any Jazz listener that these speakers are it. She sounds like she is singing in my living room. Stevie Ray V. base and lead are great in Cross-Fire as well. Proving that these speakers can rock.

For movies, I was able to watch "300" at a normal cinematic volume levels and found that I did not miss the Sub. The sword and shield clashes were sharp and bass awesome.

The only drawback that I found is that, since I have a 7.1 receiver and will only ever use a 5.1 setup, I wanted to bi-amp the speakers using the additional channel to drive the base frequencies. Currently this is not possible as there is only 1 set of connectors on these speakers. Perhaps this feature will be added for future updates

In conclusion, do what so many others have said. Buy'em and try'em. You have nothing to lose and sweet sound to gain!

Ordering speakers online and unheard made me a little nervous, but they came highly recommended and I could just send them back so I gave it a shot. Fantastic. Get the gloss black. I have to admit the speakers are bigger than I expected, even given the measurements, but the sound is amazing. And the support is better. I had a broken screen on the front of one and they shipped me a new one, no questions asked. Great speaker. Great support.

I purchased the 532-LR bookshelf speakers and the 533-VAC center channel speaker last year. Like everyone else, I was hesitant to purchases these products over the internet, without the benefit of a live preview. The no-hassle return policy was nice so I thought I'd give them a shot.

Over the past 10 months, I loved those speakers enough to where I wanted to give the 633-Ts and the S-10 subwoofer a try. The 633-Ts are the front channel speakers and I am now using the 533-LRs for surround. The effect is FANTASTIC!

What do I love about Aperion?

- Great products: Excellent speakers for the price
- Great customer service: The service is exceptional
- Great packaging: It clearly shows that the folks at Aperion care

What else do you want? Very Enthusiastic Thumbs Up!

I did much research before getting new speakers, I did not know about this online stuff, but with 30 days money back what do you have to lose? I started small, or so I thought, I ordered the center channel 533 VAC, Talk about quality build, great, then once I hooked it up all I could do was wait for the certain BLAW that comes sooner or later with concert DVD's. Well, it did not come, and I quickly ordered a pair of 633 towers, nothing to say here, only that you would have to pay $1500.00 each to get anything close to these speakers. I went to all the high end Audio stores in San Antonio so if you are looking for great sounding music don't waste your time and money. This is your speaker.

Service was extremely great, I wanted to get the best out of my system and one email later they let me know what matched up best for my budget, receiver wise, and WOW. I'm 52 years old and now have the system that I always dreamed of. I still have a different sub and rear speakers but that will soon change to Aperion as soon as the wife lets me buy them.

This is quality audiophile equipment, you'll tell as soon as you see it's a 2 man job to unpack them. Hooked to my Onkyo SR875 I played a lot of my concert DVD's including the tribute to George Harrison, and this was the first time I actually heard all the instruments. They make you re-listen to everything; in fact you need to see what you missed with your old stuff.

5 stars guys, Audiophile stuff that is affordable. Love it and we are at 3 months.

I was a disbeliever, how could this speaker be better than my JBL's, Bose, or Sony’s? After opening the box I was impressed with the presentation nice touch with the velvet bag, but when I plugged them in, it was like a new world opened up. These speakers are the face of my 7.1 system and are the main reason I will not watch movies on any other TV in the house.

I have had these speakers for 8 months and they rock! I decided to give Aperion a try instead of buying some Definitive Technology speakers I was considering. What a wonderful choice I made with the 633's. They sound great with music, movies and anything else you want to throw at them. I have purchased 7 speakers from them in all and will be buying some more. Aperion has found a loyal fan for life. Keep up the great work!!

Great for music or home theater

I've had these speakers for almost 3 months now. They're hooked up in 5.1 configuration with the 634-VAC center speaker and 632-LR for surrounds. These are mated to the Onkyo SR-TX805 receiver and they sound fantastic. I listen to mainly 2-channel music and these towers are smooth and crystal clear. Just make sure that if you listen to MP3's, they're at a high bit-rate.

As home theater speakers, they rival most movie theaters. It's the clarity that most impresses me. Unfortunately I live in an apartment building so I can't turn them up full blast, but they definitely sound like they're up to the task. I have the paino black version and it looks very slick. The fit and finish is second to none. Just make you handle them carefully as they are a lot bigger and heavier than they look in pictures! Luckily the boxes are heavily cushioned and include nice velvety bags. And Aperion's customer service has been outstanding. They give you constant e-mail updates on the status of your order and are very responsive to questions, by phone or e-mail. They really go out of their way to make it personal. And of course you can't beat the return policy if by some off chance you do need to return them. The only downside I've experienced is that the glossy black version seems to be on back-order frequently. The towers came in a few days after the rest of the set did. Still, they were worth the wait. Like most people, I was initially looking at speakers from more mainstream companies like Klipsch, Polk, or Infinity. The main reason I chose Aperion was from word of mouth on various internet forums. I heard that their main strengths are their price/performance ratio and customer service. I was not disappointed. Great speakers at a great price. Highly recommended.

We got our basement completed in the recent past and installed full fledged home theater with plasma TV and HD receiver and 7.1 sound system installed. All the audio components are APERION products. I read the reviews on CNET prior to purchasing. I had never heard of these guys before. So I started to research and evaluate the brand, I had chats, emails, phone conversations going with the customer reps. The customer service reps were consistent and knowledgeable and this gave me a lot of confidence. The products are of very good quality and the sound effects are excellent. I have installed FOUR Intimus 632 In Ceiling speakers ALONG WITH THESE SPEAKERS AND AN S10 SUB. So far I have not got any distortion. Amazing sound effects. Very good quality for the price. Looks good. Feels Good. Sounds Good.

I am very satisfied with the sound of these speakers, and the Aperion service. I purchased and received 633T’s a little over a month ago, and have thoroughly enjoyed them. They are extremely clear, provide enough bass for my taste without a sub. I researched speakers for about six months, and had difficulty auditioning speakers since there are not any retailers in my area who carry quality audio components. I felt the Aperion 30 day in home trial was a no lose proposition. Before coming to that conclusion, I did many extensive Internet searches looking for reasons why I shouldn’t give Aperion a go, but could find very few negative comments. The most derogatory comment came from someone who didn’t like the idea that the speakers are manufactured in China. I did find they are engineered in the US so was not an issue for me. No matter where they’re made these speakers look great and sound terrific. The only thing I recommend is not using the brass screw in posts (feet) and the associated brass cups for standing on a hardwood. The speakers are heavy, hard to move and the screw feet slip out of the cups, dimpling and scratching hardwood floors. I did find a work around to solve the problem. In the end I would definitely buy these speakers again, and will purchase additional speakers from Aperion in the future.

I got my speakers today exactly when I was told they would arrive. Man are they heavy! I got four of the 633-Towers to replace some DCM KX12 Series 2. I found Aperion while I was reading reviews. I went to their website and looked at their towers and read the reviews and was amazed that both the pro and customer reviews were pretty impressive. The offer for no payments or interest for a year, 10 year warranty, shipping to and from your house free (nothing is free), and the excellent reviews made my mind up for me. I ordered them Sunday night and they arrived on Wednesday. The customer service was outstanding. They answered my questions, kept me aware of the status of my order, returned my calls, and were right on concerning their arrival. The speakers like I said are a bit heavy, the finish on them is outstanding, and they sound great. I was a bit apprehensive about any tower speakers because I had some Polks when they first came out and I did not like them along with some other brand towers. They just did not have any bass. These have plenty of bass along with crisp and clear mids and highs. I am looking forward to cranking them up tonight to see what they will really do. I am very happy at this point and am ready to rock and roll.
