Simply awesome Tower from an Amazing Company
Manish B. - February 16, 2011
I have pretty much the same review under the 6C as well. I have entered this here since the 6T and the 6C are my main speakers.
I purchased my entires Aperion Audio system (two 6T's, one 6C, two 534 SS Diapole/Bipole Speakers and one 10 inch Bravus) in April 2008. Its almost 3 years now and I can tell you the following,
1) These are the best speakers I have purchased
2) This is the best company to work with
3) The customer service is simply amazing
Just like many others, I did not believe the user reviews, magazine review comments and other articles. In today's world one has to take everything with a pinch of salt when it comes to internet information. All kinds of thoughts went through my head, I am parting almost $4K to some company which claims "blah blah blah". What if I get duped and on and on.
I almost we to the local store and purchased a Kef speaker set. Something prevented me and I tried out Aperion. Trust me... The best decision I took. All the reviews and raves are completely true. I have had almost 3 years of awesome movie, sports watching. Don't do much of music but when ever I play, its pure music.
After my experience, when I want any kind of speaker, I don't waste any more time, I just go to Aperion and order it. I will continue to do so in the future. I am their customer for life.
Even their exchanges are straight forward. They work exactly as they have detailed on their website. I had this experience when I traded up my 8 inch sub for a 10 inch sub. No hassles. How I wish everything else were as simple, truthful and straight forward as Aperion.
Great work Aperion Team.
Awesome With Tremendous Value!

I’d like to take the time to truly thank everyone at Aperion Audio for being so truly outstanding in their customer service, courtesy, and friendliness. With all of the companies I deal with on a daily basis, I put Aperion at the top of the list. I’ve been into audio for over 35 years and it’s been an incredible journey to experience the many different speakers I have collected from many different companies.
I thought I would give Aperion a try because of my desire for great value in speaker design, and I can tell you from clear experience that every product I have bought from Aperion has been truly outstanding in value, quality, and function.
I bought a pair of the Intimus 6T Tower Speakers and when I pulled them out of the box they looked absolutely beautiful in high-gloss black. In my opinion they are the best value in the market at their price point for quality, value, and sound. They are truly outstanding speakers and I have done enough testing with them to say that they are also a tremendous value!
Then I bought the Bravus 12D-Dual 12 Inch Powered Subwoofer and when I saw it for the first time I was blown away by it! The beauty and the sound are so remarkable that soon after I had to buy another one. Through the years I have collected many different subwoofers, and again, for the quality and value I would say that Aperion is truly outstanding.
Then I got the Intimus 6C Center Channel Speaker. The voice reproduction is outstanding! The clarity of voices and accuracy are remarkable, as it’s very hard to reproduce these types of frequencies in any speaker. I would rate this center channel a 9 out of 10 for value and function.
I also bought the Aperion Home Audio Link System and it has worked flawlessly since day one. I purchased two extra wireless receivers, and they all link up perfectly. It’s truly fantastic having music all over the house wirelessly!
Every time I have called Aperion with any questions, they have always answered with courtesy and friendliness that is rare to find in any industry. Their customer service is a 10, and I would rate them in the top 3 companies that I deal with on a regular basis. If I’ve ever had any sort of question or problem, they’ve dealt with it immediately. I decided long ago to no longer give my money to companies that don’t take care of their customers.
It’s rare indeed to find a company that hits a home run in all three categories of product quality, value, and customer service. Aperion will continue to have me as a lifelong customer as long as they continue to value me as much as I value them by telling everyone how great I feel about their products and company.
Whenever you can increase your quality, value, and customer service, this energy always returns to where it belongs. With the greatest respect to the Aperion family, thank you for such wonderful products!
From a grateful customer, John Ashland OR
Mind boggling great sound and customer service.

Everything in life is relative. Once one has had Grade B Vermont Maple Syrup, the darker much more tasty variety, then you'll never be satisfied with any other syrup for the rest of your life.
Or if you've ever brought home a few bottles of real first pressed, virgin olive oil that you bought directly from an Italian farmer, you'll snicker at every other store-bought label that makes that claim.
Likewise, with speakers. I started off with 4B's and I wasn't thrilled. Then I traded up to 5B's which were nice but not OMG wow fantastic. Then I made the ultimate plunge and went with the 6T's on the front speakers and used the other 5B's for the rear speakers.
I also traded up to the 6C centers which we're very happy with.
We've had these speakers for several months. I waited a long time before writing this review.
We're not audiophiles but we're hopeless movie addicts. We all take sight and sound very seriously.
After watching a number of recent high-quality Blu-Ray movies with uncompressed sound over the past few months, I realized that the rear 5B's didn't seem all that fantastic. So I put the speaker wires from one rear 5B into the front 6T and played the end of 'Inglorious Basterds'. I listened to the scene where the machine guns are firing down and the spent shells are making sharp metallic clicking sounds.
On the 6T, each shell could clearly be heard. On the 5B I heard a lot of sound but not the distinctive clarity of metal hitting metal.
Doing a sanity check, I asked my wife what she thought. Trust me, if she doesn't recognize a difference she isn't going say so to please me. She's the one that insisted on getting the front 6T's to begin with. She listened and immediately stated that she could readily discern an appreciable improvement in sound quality from the 6T.
My wife asked what other tower options did we have. I read her the prices. She stated that she didn't want anything less than what we already had so it looks like we're going to get another set of 6Ts.
Once we realized what we've been missing all along, we upgraded the Blu-Ray player and bought a number of Blu-Ray movies that were highly rated for sound quality in Blu-Ray.com.
All of the movies that I buy have uncompressed sound or TrueHD. Make certain that when you play the movie to go into setup and change the audio quality up to uncompressed (it's not the default setting). With the Aperion speakers, you can't help but notice the big improvement in sound quality. In our case, the sound is truly better than a movie theater.
We don't make purchases lightly. What we buy we use for many years. We don't have the money to replace items on a whim. I expect to keep these for a long time.
There are 2 reasons why you might not want to go this route:
1. You live in an apartment or too close to a neighbor where the appropriate amount of sound could be considered a disturbance.
Great Speaker & Company

I have just reached the end of my 30 day trial period and will say that "THESE SPEAKERS ARE FOR REAL & WON'T BE GOING BACK." Sorry for the shout and all in serious these speakers are just as advertised, maybe even better. I got them mainly for two channel music and they deliver. I get excellent separation of instruments, great detail and clarity. The bass is great, as I don't need a sub when playing music, which was what I was looking for. I compared these with B&W 683's and Paradigm Studio 60s. In my opinion these 6T's were better sounding and easier on the budget. Finally I will say that you will not get better service anywhere. Aperion was very helpful and very patient. I must have called 10-15 times pestering them and they showed patience each time answering my questions.
Twice is enough !!!

This is going to be short and sweet, I had ordered these and sent them back and then ordered them again after realizing just how good these speakers are, I have three systems and with these speakers eleven pairs of speakers that rotate through the systems, speakers such as Magnepan 1.6s Martin-Logan SL3s Sunfire Crm2s, NHT classic 3s, B&G Z1s and so on and so on, the 6Ts perform as well or better than most of these speakers, break in with these speakers is quite long I would say at least 200 hours and they do sound quite a bit different after full break in. to sum it up these speakers were good enough that after I sent them back the first time I missed them enough to reorder them again with ten other excellent pairs of speakers at my finger tips, for just under $1400.00 these speakers are truly a great find.
ABSOLUTELY AMAZING!
Coby E. - March 25, 2009
After several months, these speakers continue to amaze! After some very helpful advise from the customer support at Aperion, I have tuned these speakers to near perfection. Powerd by an Onkyo TXNR905, these baby's simply rock! Highly, highly, recommended. In conjunction with a 6C the 632IC and the dual 10" sub, there is no movie theater better than the one in my house!
Still crazy after all these...
Geoff D. - February 25, 2009
I purchased the 6Ts and a 5c in cherry about a month ago driven by an inexpensive Onkyo 606 receiver. I also have a DefTech sub as well as some older Mirage surrounds but not for too much longer. I love to listen to music at very high levels and while the sound quality is superb in my small room with the 6Ts I could literally turn the volume on the 606 all the way to max and the speakers never showed a hint of distortion. I recently upgraded the receiver to the Onkyo 707 and it has made quite a bit of difference. I am saving for the Onkyo 906 but as it stands I am quite happy with the speakers. They sound so natural and so crisp. I get excited every morning to wake up and hear these babies! They are like a fine piece of furniture as well. Fortunately I no longer have a wife that could complain about giant towers just 8 feet from the listening area. My love for music has been rekindled! Thank you Aperion... a Bravus 10D subwoofer and a pair of 5Bs are next up on the list. I highly recommend these to anyone who wants an amazingly crafted piece of fine furniture that will give you goose bumps and bring your music to life!
6T - Heavenly Music
bob w. - January 26, 2009
My 6T's arrived today replacing a pair of Bose 901's VI. I had been use to the Bose sound which I liked so I knew the 6T's were going to have to really perform well in order to beat them. The boxes they arrived in should have given me a clue to their sound. Very well package and graced in a velvet like protective cloth.
I unpacked them and anxiously wired them up to my Denon 100 watt/channel receiver using 16 gauge Radio Shack wire, nothing exotic. From the very first note I heard I knew something was just right, something I had been missing with the Bose sound. The 6T's were open, crisp, and clear with a beautiful wide soundstage something the 901's couldn't deliver even though they are rated highly for this. I played all sorts of music from classical to broadway hits to rock. I threw everything I had at them hoping to find something, anything, that didn't appeal to me. The Bose are merely good speakers but the 6T's are music, heavenly music to my ears. I've had all sorts of speakers over the years from Maggies to Infinities from the Big Box store to audiophile types but to my ears the 6T's have a just right sound. They are more of an upfront speaker revealing all the nuances in the music rather than the laid back diffuse sound I had been use to. I guess it's a matter of sitting front row versus the balcony. The highs are sweet, midrange open, and good bass even without my HSU sub. I will continue to evaluate them as they break-in. If you are at all hesitant about purchasing these through mail order I can totally understand but don't be. Take the chance and let your ears be pleasantly surprised. Mine were !!!
The Complete Package
Ender O. - January 12, 2009
I never thought that buying a pair of speakers would we such an experience. After long and thorough research across the internet and very high praise from numerous extremely satisfied customers (avsforum), I finally decided on a pair of the 6T's. Not having had a chance to actually hear the speakers before buying was a bit concerning, but I instantly fell in love with how good they look. The fact that I could always return them was also very comforting but I don't think that will be happening any time soon!
Considering their size and weight, they were shipped across the country in a fairly quick amount of time in excellent packaging. Not only were they packaged well on the outside, inside the box, they were wrapped in this luxurious soft cloth cover to protect their beautiful finish. Using the supplied "speaker care" kit (white gloves & super soft cloth) I couldn't get over how amazing the speakers looked in person. They truly are in a furniture grade finish and complement not only my furniture / the rest of my home theater but the overall décor of the house.
Having hooked up the speakers, my ears were in aural bliss. As I am still in the break in period, the sound gets better and better the more I listen to them. The speakers have completely changed my TV, Music, Movie, and Gaming experience. Having recently watched a weekly show, during certain scenes, I was hearing sounds and frequencies I had been missing out on for years. The background sound of waves crashing on the beach, traffic from the street, while the scene is taking place in an apartment was something I had never experienced before. Everything is so crystal clear and perfect; I am kicking myself for not buying them before. I am tempted to listen, watch, and play games all over again just for the experience.
Last but not least, the customer service is superb. Not only were they helpful prior to the purchase, answering any inquiries or concerns I had, they are a pleasure to deal with after the purchase. One out of the 4 banana plugs I received was missing the screws and they instantly sent me new set, no questions asked.
Like I stated above, this is the complete package... A great product, accompanied by great service, what else can you ask for? I will definitely make future purchases as I expand my system.
Worth every penny and more!
Lorie J. - January 12, 2009
These speakers are terrific! Aside from the sleek cherry cabinets, the sound is phenomenal. I took advantage of the 1 year upgrade period and went from 632s to 6Ts and couldn't be happier. I purposely listened to a few of my favorite CDs before turning in the 632s (which I was happy with) and then listened to the same ones with the 6Ts. I can't believe the nuances that come through. The sound is crisp and clear and instruments as well as voices come out sounding just right. And when you catch the sweet spot in your room, it just doesn't get any better. Thanks Aperion, you guys know your stuff.

All three of those words describe the sound these speakers are capable of. What you are getting for you money is a no-nonsense cabinet loaded with high quality (but no frills) drivers and crossovers developed by people with good ears and not just 3 PhDs. Their looks aren't over the top with a tri-axial floating tweeter dome designed to apply a lorentz transformation to the soundwave coming off the tweeter so it sounds 'more pure' to the ear, but thankfully the price reflects that sentiment as well.
Your hard earned money goes fully and completely into making these speakers sonically transparent. Yes, they still look good, but hook them up to a clean source and play some reference material with lossless compression and you'll see what I mean. They have shown an uncanny ability to present a wide and natural sounding soundstage even in my (quite) less then ideal listening arrangement, and they effortlessly expose nuances to the recordings that I was missing with my Klipsch setup.
They aren't bass monsters (although they have plenty of respectable extension in the lower registers) if they don't have ample power, but even with a modest 110w they do an excellent job of reproducing a convincing kick drum from Jon Theodore of The Mars Volta. The tweeters and woofers are integrated seamlessly in the crossover; they just allow the individual components to disappear into one completely natural sounding package.
It took a few days of listening to appreciate how good these speakers sound, but now that I'm past the break in period and have put over a month on them, I have to say I'm thrilled with my purchase and will be back to Aperion on the future.
Excellent Towers
Roger S. - September 10, 2008
I have had these towers and all I can say is they are "Awesome", I have them as fronts for my 7 speaker Aperion HT setup. I mostly watch movies 70%, music 30%. What clarity, and you can drive these speakers hard and they will not lose anything, they will still sound crisp and clear. I switch between 2 channel and 7 channel speaker with music and I must say that when I listen to 2 channel stereo with the sub off these towers will "envelope" the room with awsome sound. They do fill a large size room with awesome sound-seems like the sound is everywhere. You cannot tell they are just coming from the towers. Anyone wanting excellent speakers check out the Aperions, I am sure glad I did.
Sound is clear and pure
Eric B. - September 08, 2008
I can't find words to express my astonishment that the 6T brought for movies (in pair with the 10D). Although I listen to Heavy, Alternative and Rock music, I don't feel the Bass in my stomach as much as I want. But these 6T made me hear sounds I never heard in songs. Thanks to the great Aperion sonority. The reviews weren't lying...
It's also really fun to see the face expression of friends coming over hearing their favorite song (whatever genre they ask for) on the 6T...
Aperion Rocks..

Excellent speakers
Alex N. - August 12, 2008
I received a pair of the 6T's a month ago and they are absolutely fantastic. The quality of the build is very nice. I could use the piano black finish as a mirror for sahving if I wanted to! There was a minor issue with the metal inserts used for support on one of them, but Aperion promptly corrected the issue without any hassle. I'm looking forward to purchasing my center channel and surrounds from Aperion.
Yet another glowing review
Craig F. - August 07, 2008
I've been using a pair of 6Ts by themselves with an Onkyo 606 for about a month now. Use has been about even between music, movies, and TV.
They look great, with a smaller visual footprint than I imagined because the width is smaller than the depth and it's really the width that you notice (read: your wife notices).
The sound is great as well. My main concern, based on reviews, was that they may be a bit bright. I love my Grado SR80 headphones, but they can bite a tad on bright recordings. The 6Ts are much better in this regard, so anyone who likes the sound of Grados needn't concerned about brightness. Bass extension is good enough that I have no desire for a sub.
Aperion's gurus have been quite helpful.
Sounds like live
William B. - August 07, 2008
Been listening to these speakers for 3 weeks now. They are dedicated to a stereo system only, and I'm driving them with 135 Watts RMS. The highs are incredible; the mid-range is stunning. The base is the weakest link, but quite adequate. If I felt the need, I could always add a sub, there is no need, really.
Listen to Whitney Houston sing "I'll Always Love You." You can hear her breath between lines! Listen to any piano recital and you'll swear there's a live piano in the room. I have mine balanced perfectly. The depth reaches behind the speakers to in back of the listener. The width is wall to wall, and the center image is spot on in the middle, with a singer's voice appearing to come from somewhere in between the two speakers.
Fit and finish (mine are cherry) is fine furniture grade, and customer support is second to none.
Intimus 6T Tower Speakers
Barry T. - August 07, 2008
I have been playing these speakers for over two weeks now and they are more than adequate with all the films that i am viewing. They have more breadth than depth in their sounds so far. They fill my room but do not delineate all of the sounds. They are not as precise as other speakers that I have played when I listen to just music. I played them in contrast to the much more expensive Vienna Acoustic Baby Grands which seemed to perform in a manner that was more polished but lacked the kinesthetic oomph of the 6T speakers. This review is admittedly just my first impressions and I am reserving a rain check to contradict myself after listening for a lot longer.
Amended Review
Barry T. - May 05, 2008
I am Barry Tellman and previously reviewed these speakers and gave them 3 stars after listening to them for only two weeks. They have grown on me over this past month and have demonstrated a quality that is both exquisitely nuanced and broad in taking me inside of the sound of both video and audio productions that rival most concert settings.
Blow my Polk's out of living room...
Greg D. - May 01, 2008
Hi Just got my 6T tower's yesterday and have to say my Polks will be in my backroom from here on.
I first played Our Prayer from Brian Wilsons Smile cd. And what a difference. Then had to put in some RUSH R 30 dvd. went straight to the Neil Pert drum solo and my room came alive.
Well i will add more feedback after my towers break in. I am a very happy camper so far.
Great speakers at a great price... Rock on Aperion
Greatest sounding&looking towers in the market
Ioannis K. - April 26, 2008
These are some really high fidelity tower speakers.
Not only do they look amazing, but they sound spectacular. Whether you use them for watching movies or listening to music, you will be fully pleased with their amazing performance.
Excellent Upgrade
gokul A r. - April 26, 2008
Just before the new line of speakers came I had bought 533T and was very happy with them. But when I heard about the new line I called Aperion to see if they'd upgrade me and sure they did. Their customer service is world class - just like their speakers. I have the new 6Ts Piano Black and the 2.1 music is awesome. These speakers go down so much that I don't use my Bravus 10D. The soundstage is wide with amazing clarity. Thank you Aperion for making great speakers.
Great speakers
Brad N. - April 26, 2008
Only had them for a few weeks and they sound pretty good.
