I tested my S-12 (Black Lacquer Finish), 12" Subwoofer against my other M&K 12" Subwoofer and it blows the M&K away. I have one now, was originally considering getting three to fill the room but now that I have it, not sure I need two more (although I probably will). I use "Superman Returns" (Blu-Ray) to demo the subwoofer to my friends, my kids friends, the neighborhood, etc. and all are completely in awe when the airplane scene is finished. When the rockets spin up on the shuttle, you can actually feel the rotation in your chest, stomach through the subwoofer. Quite incredible. Another good scene to test the levels this subwoofer can reach is when they are using the machine gun on the rooftop. You can feel the bullets being released in the slow motion shot and the impact coming from the canon. Just saving up so I can order more. I do like the idea of a future Dual 15" sub, I must say.

I love my S-12. It's loud & strong. It's probably too big for my little condo, but it's the first time in my life that I have enough bass to suit my taste. It's great for movies as well as music. Scenes from The Incredibles, or the blast off from Apollo 13 reminds me of low rumbling sounds shaking my house. Many songs sound totally different now with my S-12. It can easily put out enough to suit my preference for rap music. It comes in a beautiful piano black, with a great price. The customer service is top notch. I couldn't be happier & I'd recommend it to anyone & everyone.

I have a very large room and my cathedral ceiling rises to 18 feet. The S-12 could care less. While all my other little Aperions do their tasks perfectly, this big guy just sits there, waiting for the right moment and when that moment arrives, he delivers! He vibrates my "innards" and it feels so good but no where near as good as he sounds. And no bleeding into the program when it shouldn't. Fine tuning "Big Bubba" (he's so good, I had to name him) is a snap.

This product is amazing... truly shakes the room without being obnoxiously loud. Its clear, deep, and perfect for experiencing a great movie. Great product!

Boom... is exactly right this thing shakes my dorm room. Unfortunately I have to turn it down because I don't like the police invited to my parties. Looks beautiful and sounds great. Piano black finish is great but sure does collect noticeable dust! I originally wanted just the 10" because the sound quality is little different between a 10 and 12, but this produces more bass you can literally feel. Plus I got it A-stock so it was at a discounted price which was cheaper than the 10"!

S-12 is the perfect sub. I knew that the minimum base you need to have a good sub is 10" so I went for the S-12 . The good problem I have run into now is that I have to turn it down when watching movies or games as it is very powerful . I also liked the phase out option that it has so that you can put the Sub anywhere you want instead of the front though the front is preferred.

I have a large room, with 16 foot ceilings, and I had to turn this quite low. Not because of the neighbors, but because it was rattling my windows and vibrating light bulbs out of their sockets. I need a sturdier room. ;)

This Sub is great. I had considered getting the 10" but ultimately opted for the 12" due to the size of the room. This speaker is great and compares to subs that cost 2-3 times more.

For the price a very big subwoofer. My daughter loves watching certain movies such as Star Wars solely due to the subwoofer. Very happy with the purchase.

The S-12 is more sub than I need. I have it in a medium sized room and it will rattle every window in the house, but it sure gets your attention when watching movies. This dude packs quite a punch. I have to throttle it back a bit for my 14 by 20 foot family room. It would sound great in larger rooms (small stadiums?). It is sure fun to turn up when my wife is out.

These were my first pair of real speakers. I was a bit hesitant to buy them from an online company. Read a lot of reviews and finally settled on these. They sound great, great customer service. Good quality speakers. These speakers fill the hole house bass.

I have a large room and this sub fills it with base. The other subs I was looking at were at least 2x the price of the S-12.

Due to my room setup I have to have this positioned in the back of the listening area, and it sounded boxy until I had it professionally tuned. It goes without saying, but tuning your system for your specific room setup is a must.

Great build quality. This thing is big, so make sure you are ok with it aesthetically. I have it hidden under an end table and it looks good.

Here's your subwoofer. The driving force in my 7.1 system, I've not regretted for a second investing in this awesome, big bass-voiced growler. I think I might be compromising the structural integrety of my home with my Aperion subwoofer. No kidding, if you're looking into the right subwoofer for a larger livingroom, this is just the ticket. Sounds are clear, unmuddied and downright bullish. I recommend it with confidence!

Bar none, best sub out there. It's the heart of my set-up and scares the dogs if I let it.

I actually have a pair of S-12 woofers in my very big living room/kitchen- great room area. The amount of bass that these two in tandem puts out... is quite insanely satisfying. The bottom end is very deep and can be heard well down the block in my neighborhood. I am a bit disappointed in the relative lack of quickness with these two, however. The amplifiers could use to have a bit more current draw to make the drivers faster when the bass drum reproducing freqencies are hit. Bang for the buck however, these woofers are unbeatable. The quality of craftsmanship is unparalelled; beautiful additions to the decor.

The sound is very clear and clean. Subwoofers are something I know a lot about -- this subwoofer is as good as you can get for range of sound at low to medium volume, but if you really like to crank the bass way up it might not satisfy. I went ahead and purchased this subwoofer thinking the high-end quality would somehow blow me away like the 633T's did, but subwoofers are subwoofers... You really want a sub that can hit 20Hz strong, and this one can. The 250watt amp just cant drive enough throws at high volume. I'm hoping Aperion releases a 15" 500+ watt powered subwoofer with dual spiders.

For 49 out of 50 people this subwoofer will be more than enough, but once you've been in car-audio SPL competition you really want something that makes you fear your surrounds are going to fall off the walls. This subwoofer is not that loud.

I purchased an S-12 to agument the low end of a large speaker system that I built. My two main speakers, constructed of 3/4 inch furniture grade oak, stand 4 ft x 2 ft x 18 in and utilize two duplex, 15 in speakers that are rated at 30-20,000Hz. Nice, but lacking punch in the low end. I play mostly classical pipe organ music and the speakers are also attached to a professional electronic pipe organ. I really needed to augment the low end.

I saw the ad for the S-12 and ordered one. When it arrived, the FEDEX guy remarked that it was a "substantial speaker" and he wanted to hear it one day. Upon opening the box, I marveled at the quality of the packing (molded HD foam, not cheap styrofoam) and the speaker was covered with a velvet coverlet that was lined with a smooth silky cloth. Classy.

After unpacking the speaker, I admired the flawless workmanship on the wood. Being a woodworker, I really appreciate the look of these cherry speakers in a room. Very high end in appearance.

But, the best came after connecting the speaker to my system and playing some CDs and then my pipe organ. At last, I can enjoy the full spectrum of the music. Yes, the lows do indeed rattle everything in the house (windows, pots and pans inside the pantry, loose objects nearby) as they should. With pipe organ, you should "feel" the low frequencies. This is what distinguishes a real pipe organ from an electronic one (like I play). Most speakers, even high end ones, lack the punch needed to generate the acoustic waves in the critical low end. The S-12, at levels less than 50% on the dial, more than fills my 900 sq ft room with the sonic power needed for the thunderous lows.

I am grateful that I happened upon these speakers and urge anyone else who feels sonically unfulfilled in the low frequencies to check these speakers out. You have nothing whatsoever to lose.
