Intimus S8, 8" Powered Subwoofer

$279.00ea.

The Intimus S-8 8” subwoofer was built with budget-friendly performance in mind, and it shines. Our ultra-fast custom 8” polypropylene driver was designed for superior high-excursion performance. The 100-watt high-powered amp gives the S-8 enough brawn to shake the walls and disturb the neighbors if you’re not careful. So be careful.

The S-8 is your ticket to high performance rumble. The Intimus 8" sub has been skillfully designed to deliver fast action and low bass for home theater, gaming and music.

BIG sound from small package!

When this sub arrived, I was immediately impressed with the packaging. Packed extremely well with foam...even the sub was wrapped in a velvet bag! Nice. Unpacked and was surprised how beautiful this little sub looked with it's shiny black finish. Matches well with my other components. When I hooked up this sub and tried it for the first time, I was blown away with it's performance. I have a 12" sub in another room and I think this 8" baby sounds better. This sub completes my family room theater and I thank you for such a great product!

Solid piece of hardware

I'm always impressed at how well this sub fills my 12x14 living room. It is deep and powerful without being overbearing. I know this may sound like a cliche' marketing slogan, but seriously: you can't match Aperion's quality and price anywhere else!

I am still impressed with this "little" 8" sub, even after listening for 6 months. In my family/tv room (15 x 17x 17 ceiling), there is enough bottom end to rattle my windows. I can't even imagine the larger subs.

Way More than 8" of Power

Space was the issue! The new cabinet to house our first HDTV component setup was too small for my old 12" subwoofer. Hours of research later I came across Aperion, and one CNET review later, I was ordering, with fingers crossed hoping this little 8"er would do the job!

We absolutely couldn't be more pleased! The Intimus S8 literally floods our room with more, clearer and sharper bass tones than we could ever have imagined. Far superior to our old 12" subwoofer, we now have the total surround sound experience due simply to this one little, but oh so powerful, subwoofer.

Thank you Aperion! Soon enough our entire speaker system will be all Aperion!

I would have loved to give this a perfect score, but, alas, I have to hold back purely for personal reasons. I ordered this subwoofer to replace an older Sunfire TruSub, to complement my Totem Acoustic home theater satellites. Unfortunately, the 8" model just could not handle the power demands of my specific HT setup. I have just moved into a newer, larger home (approx. 1400 sq ft) and really should have gone with the 12" model. That said, this was the most beautiful speaker I have ever owned. Everything about Aperion was 1st class, better than any electronics/home theater equipment dealer I have ever dealt with, in person or online. I was genuinely saddened to return this, but Aperion's money back guarantee was exactly as good as it promised. And, when I do finally decide to upgrade my speaker system, there is no doubt in my mind who I will buy from. Thank you, Aperion, for your outstanding products and even more outstanding customer service.

Great sound ugly color

We really loved the sound of this small sub but the color was terrible. We ordered the medium cherry. It was orange. No color like this exists in nature. Was able to return it with no problems. Great company to do business with.

This is the small sub?

My home theater system is in a large room with 14' ceilings, but I live in a condo with neighbors both above and below, so I bought the S8 thinking an S10 or S12 would result in noise complaints.

Needless to say, I didn't expect much. After a month of steady use for both music and movies, I'm still blown away by this sub. I use the S8 in a 6.1 setup (a mix of 4 and 5 series speakers) with a Yamaha RX-V amp and it shakes pictures off the wall. Only one complaint from the downstairs neighbor so far... highly recommended!

Incredibly product/incredible customer service

After the numerous letters from Aperion Audio asking me if I was enjoying my product, I felt compelled to write a review of your product. First, I’d like to comment on Aperion in general. Just about the time I’ve come to believe that there are NO companies that provide decent customer service, lo and behold I stumble across Aperion. Oh, what other companies would learn from Aperion! In short, all I can do is echo the comments made by others: Aperion provides the best customer service. Period. End of story. That stated, that’s not what led me to purchase a subwoofer from Aperion. I needed to replace a 12” Velodyne subwoofer that provided me only a year’s worth of enjoyment. I reviewed several on-line audio websites, but relied mostly on a review provided by cnet.com. I confess that I knew nothing about Aperion. I was, quite frankly, looking for an M&K, Hsu, or Outlaw Audio subwoofer. But again, the cnet.com article convinced me to give Aperion a try. Wow, what a subwoofer! Even though I only purchased the Intimus 8 (hooked to a Carver receiver), it absolutely thunders! Granted, the sub is in my bedroom (15’x17' with 9’ ceilings), but even with the sub and the receiver set at “3” all of the pictures on the living room walls and the china cabinet in our dining room all buzz from the vibration/pounding. Some of the scenes in Harry Potter Order of the Phoenix movie down right scared us when we heard/felt the thunder. As mentioned in previous reviews, you will be shocked at the little details Aperion takes to deliver an awesome product and ensure you’re happy with it. When I replace my Energy satellite speakers I won’t be searching cnet.com for reviews – I’ll be busy purchasing the sats from Aperion…
